Dimash is a cross-genre artist, meaning he sings whatever he wants whenever he wants, from opera to pop and everything in between. He has been trained in classical voice, pop and jazz. He also sings rock, ethnic traditional and even does some rap in certain songs. Dimash has music in his veins. There is no artist like him in the world.

He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

Dimash performed this on the Chinese show "The Singer" (or "I Am Singer") in 2017 and BLEW. CHINA. AWAY. Immediately an overnight sensation. He needed bodyguards the day after the episode aired. That's where his journey began outside of his own country. (and Russia)

This song SOS has been a long time favorite of mine before DIMASH was born, but when I heard him perform SOS I was stunned, shocked and in disbelief; he took SOS to a place it had never been taken before. Yes, this song is in French, but he also sings in about 12 languages, has a 7.2 octave range to his voice, plays about 7 instruments and is a brilliant composer. This Digital Show was done after his live concerts were cancelled because of Covid so as not to disappoint his fans (Dears) and yo raise money for the Covid cause. On top of all of this he is the most humble, caring and spiritual young man. Yes, there are so many good and very good singers out there. In the case of Dimash, he is not just a singer, he is someone who has a formal education in music. He finished his masters degree with exemplary grades and is now on his way to get that doctorate degree in music. This is my all time favorite version of SOS. (Mind you there are elements in all the SOS versions that I love)

Dimash is not a Martian but there is an artist who is from Mars. Hua Chenyu is one of the biggest artists in China and rightly so. When I heard Dimash sing, I thought that he was not human. When I heard what he said in an interview, I realized that Dimash is more of a human than all of us.
