I noticed the thanks to the Dallas Zoo so I googled. There are 300+ eastern bongos in the USA. Sad about the ones in Kenya but looks like there's a major effort to keep the species around. 👍
But that's not that relieving, i mean, once they are gone in Kenya, they will be extinct in the wild which is literally one step from extinction ... :( not another one

Read last night that since 2004 U.S. bongos are sent to breeding programs in Kenya for reintroduction into the wild. Of course, without changes to poaching and land usage laws on the continent, these efforts are certainly made more difficult.
@@FreeTibetFTW look up the scimitar oryx, they were considered extinct in the wild but there are thousand in southwestern us and northern Mexico. They started importing them back into Egypt from and now there’s over 100 back in the wild and the numbers are increasing.
We gotta put our money where our mouths are, if governments don´t act and companies only care about profit, let´s humiliate them in front of the world, by helping conserve and rebuilt bigger parts of the natural world all by ourselves, and negate those incharge access to those places. Why do all the cool animals get/nearly extinct - Dodo birds, Quagga Zebra, Almost this beautiful antelope, Mammoth, Sabertooth Tiger, The Horseshoe Crab almost, Plioplatecarpus, etc... :-/
There are also several in Texas hunting ranches and much like many other species conservation through commerce has brought back hunters are making a massive impact of their populations their real threats are poachers and deforestation not hunters
