This was my first concert. My dad took me, and it’s one of my favorite memories. I was the youngest guy there which is sad because people need to listen to this guy.
Still so hard to believe he's gone. What a cool dude, he always seemed like someone I would have liked to just hang out with. An amazing musician, always gave credit to everyone in the band. Rest in peace, Tom Petty, you are missed already. Thank you for taking the time to post this video, watching it with tears in my eyes...again. Rolling Stone Mag says he has not played four of the songs that this concert had in it in Nashville in April 2017, including this song "You Got Lucky". Man, NOT ME. I play it with him on my vinyl running, or alone, on my keyboard, all the time. The Rolling Stone article talks about all the minor chords in the song. True, A minor, A minor ninth, a kind of D minor, but then there's G major, F major seventh etc. Whatever, TP has now been recognized with his band, as totally awesome. How many more songs does this man have in him? Truly he is a genius at putting together not-to-unusual songs, riffs and moves into a bottomless well of high quality songs thru four decades. I LOVE "The Waiting" personally, but I love almost all of the rest of his work. HE is, indeed, my BEATLES OF NOW. I am lucky, as the song says ...why? His boyhood home is 10 minutes away. I'm a musician (keyboard, not Benmont keyboard, but keyboard!). So I go to his house, park, dig the vibes, and Thank Tom, Thank Tom, Thank Tom, for him moving my emotions in wonderful, joyful healing ways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TP AND BREAKERS ARE AMONG A SELECT FEW of the top bands ever!!! WE SALUTE THEM!!!!
You Got Lucky has always been my favorite Tom Petty song...I was messing with my phone and just happened to catch it from the beginning...I was so glad I did. I am so glad you liked the video.
TP is awesome. I play keyboard in bands and solo. I play his stuff alone on my keyboard and along with the vinyl all the time. Thank you for your kind response. Enjoy!
