I loved the concept of a few quality soldiers with the right equipment standing up against a hoard of reviving undead surging toward them. It's a really classic concept and while I was rooting for the giant robots, both sides where very impressive and very cool.
I like how the terrain needs to be reduced from the normal density to allow for the two massive armies. "Summer Lightning" is a great name. Sultan, "It's his Warlord Trait!" 😄 Winters, "It's his Warlord Trait!" 😄
10 years ago, my very first ever tabletop game my friend let me use his chaos models as proxies for my necron army. he was tau. this brings me back. he absolutely obliterated my army very quickly with broadsides. he like oneshot my monolith lol
Absolutely amazing bat rep as usual. I stand by what I always say, your bat reps are the best out there for sure. It may be just my phone speaker but voices seem quite quiet in your bat reps recently, thanks again for everything you do winters and everyone in DZTV Community
I absolutely adore this matchup in the 9th. All in all, I feel like GW managed to make both cron and tau fun, fluffy, and balanced at the same time, so this right here, is an absolute delicacy to watch.
This is the first video I have seen from you, popped up on my recommended and these are my 2 favorite factions so I figured I would watch it. What a fight, will look into more of your videos.
4000 Points of Tau!!!!! A perfect watch while i make my first ever attempts at putting colour on my army (Tau) :) Also Franks sauces are awesome, buffalo ftw.
Coming from a background completely devoid of anything like this, this was really fun to watch! Id love to see this play out in VR tho but its fun as is :)
@@AnEnormousNerd you didn’t watch the end did you? Winters let Sultan roll for the win anyway because narratively he believed necrons had lost too many models 🙄 Sultan rolled a 3+ and cheesed a win somehow…
Feel like the Necron player needs to roll his dice and not just let them plop out of his hand. Like you can see a 1 or 2 on the die in his hand, then he'll just plop it down and it stays a 1 or 2 where if he actually rolled it, it could of been a different number and passed some of those failed saves etc. I've seen this happen a lot over the years usually with bigger dice and having to roll a bunch at one time but it seems having to hold the camera in one hand and film contributed. My suggestion, use smaller dice, and/or use a cup and a box off the gaming table so the dice don't hit terrain or models. Makes shooting the results easier too cause the dice stay in the box and don't roll all over the place. Nice report tho, good to see xenos duking it out and not just Marines vs chaos for the millionth time.
I love how the Stormsurge is basically the Tau adopting the Ork mindset of 'moar dakka' lol it's literally got guns attached to guns. The Tau'nar however is just a great big triple 'feck you' to anything downrange. A perfect counter to imperial titans if you think about it.
Are old Necrons worth money today? I have some from my childhood still just in a box. I got one of those flying buildings, regular skeleton gunners and some who has upperbody that has flying thing for legs.
Another great video Winters! You have such a clean battle mat and terrain feature(s). It's just right for the production IMO. Also, I love your dice with the marbling and vivid colour! Are they 16mm? They look bigger than that for some reason?
I know literally nothing about this. This is the first video ive seen about this tabletop game. Would it be possible to build a base below the figurine with a built in tape measure that pulls out to its max distance move? Or is that not something that would work?
It dropped a few hours ago, where do you live that it's not the new year yet? Hawaii? For me it's the 2nd 3:30 am, so the entire would should be at LEAST on the 1st by now.
The relentless dice rolling is what kills this for me. I can never get into something like this where everything you do is based entirely on the roll of a dice. It's so time consuming and results are always bad for one side.
No, you don’t have to go second, you NEED to go first. It’s a poor ambush if your enemy fires first. They can’t have any late game hail Mary’s if they aren’t standing.
Decent battle, rubbish point /victory point distribution and conditions though. There is literally no point in holding objectives, when killing the leader on average is worth 2 points. Just hide your leader in your deployment zone, keep your ranged units in cover and shoot whatever you can (especially the enemy leader) while your melee troops deepstrike and then take one objective with all your might in the last or second to last round. That's a 66,666% auto win.
Iv never seen anyone play this game before, but after all of that, after rolling like 1000 dice, the hours of this game, came down to roll 1/3 for the win?
Great battle report. The Tau'nar while it has great firepower didn't seem that pressive for 1000 points. The 3 broadsides seemed nasty and would have been even better with 2 plasma rifles each. The drop zone clear stratagem was awesome each turn. The necrons put so pressure on the tau, and apart pulled out the win. Great close game.
I love Xenos vs Xenos. And I love tabletops with home-made terrain. Perfect for a relaxing New Year's Day afternoon.
@LEGION Marsus Stay in school cuz home made terrain is the only way to go

But witch giant robots ? Anime boys or robo boys

Absolutely love the big point battle reports. The narrative is top notch as always. Great report to start the New Year. Thanks for sharing.

Man what a blood/cooling flux bath. That Tau world took a heavy hit, but the Necrons? Theyre just getting started and rebuilding in their Tomb Ships!
Yay! A batrep without Marines ♥ Really excited to watch.
I absolutely adore this matchup in the 9th. All in all, I feel like GW managed to make both cron and tau fun, fluffy, and balanced at the same time, so this right here, is an absolute delicacy to watch.
Tau arent balanced

Somehow I wished you had a bigger board for these 4000 vs 4000 point battles … love for the New Year!
Lots of fun on this one, I love watching necrons be taught a lesson.
Winters, you do spoil us with your narrative flair on top of everything else.
*necrons bring a monolith* "Ah, playing with a handicap I see."
If I ever get to collecting Warhammer, my main army would propably be Necrons. They just look soooooo cool!
YES NEW YEAR'S BATTLE REPORT, LETS GOOOO! Thank you so much Winters. Happy new year! What a way to start 2023 :D
Great batrep, loads of fun! Thanks Winters and Sultan!
Four 6s to save from pulse drivers, bloody jammy that walker XD
Yay Tau!! Stunning battle report gents, tense until the final roll!
Coming from a background completely devoid of anything like this, this was really fun to watch! Id love to see this play out in VR tho but its fun as is :)
Simply do VR tabletop simulator
Couldn´t care less about the Tau and the Necrons, but by the Emperor´s mummified testicles... This was amazing.
Well done and Happy New Year!
Same, dedicated sisters player with enough models to do 8k by myself and I live for bigger games like this.
Two beautiful armies.
Looking at the forces… tau seem to have the edge
Would love the crons to win thou… let’s see the outcome.
Tau victory, but close. As a fellow Necron enjoyer, I was not displeased.
@@AnEnormousNerd you didn’t watch the end did you? Winters let Sultan roll for the win anyway because narratively he believed necrons had lost too many models 🙄

@@tim9241 you didn't watch the beginning lol, slaying the warlord for D3 points was part of the game from the start
Happy new year and here’s hoping for tons of awesome gaming and content in 2023
The Tau army is essentially "Don't talk to me, or my son, or my son's son ever gain"

Sweet table top setup! And the place the 'crons beam in from is The Lounge!

id like to see a continuation of this grand war. maybe a 5000 point sequel battle
Wonderful as always, love xeno fighting xeno! Well done Mr Winters and Mr Supportbubblesultan.
Well played, very fun to watch. And Stunning Armies! The paintjob of the Necrons is splendid!!!
That was quite a bloody battle. Loved it, cheers.
Great battle. Happy new year.
Amazing report hopefully more high point narratives to come!
Are old Necrons worth money today? I have some from my childhood still just in a box. I got one of those flying buildings, regular skeleton gunners and some who has upperbody that has flying thing for legs.
Name a more iconic duo than Winters+ referring to things "spilling over" things! Jk I loved the video! Nothing but love for xenos armies!
Great match! SP's dice were hot for once.
8000 points of pure joy to watch! Always good to see Sunstrike, but I wonder if he could stand up to Murphy?
Never!
noice game!! My 2 fav armies. I didn't know who I wanted to win, but I understood the Tau tactics more. GG
that was a first time i saw an wh40k battle, and it was AWESOME!
Another great video Winters! You have such a clean battle mat and terrain feature(s). It's just right for the production IMO. Also, I love your dice with the marbling and vivid colour! Are they 16mm? They look bigger than that for some reason?
16mm. You'll find the link on the DeploymentZone.TV merch page, if you're interested.
Amazing armies and it's awesome to actually see a Tesseract Vault on the table.
It got taken out without doing anything sadly.
I know literally nothing about this. This is the first video ive seen about this tabletop game.

Starting the year off with an epic battle report. Happy New year everyone!!
It's just amazing! Big robots killing swarming robots) Almost Battle-tech universe! Winters, please make a report agains knigts and titans!
I have no idea wtf you’re saying but this looks like so much fun
First report of the year and guns are blazing. Great game chaps.

😃😄😁😆😅 5 Smile's. That's a lot of Necron!!!!.
This was a favorite 40k fight vid
Down to the wire at the end there. A fantastic bat rep.
You just keep making my day Winters. when im feeling down. You save the day :)
Well done commander, the greater good has been defended once again
one of my favourite battles you've done
Very nice video i am total noob never played tabletop before but always had a draw to it. I played 40k on pc so i get the units. Nice to watch
Tau: So anyways i started blasting
Happy New Year mr. Winters
Happy new year
I never saw silver and yellow necron, and not gonna lie, I love it. Interesting color combo
Really enjoyed this one. Love a bit of Winters/Sultan 1-on-1 action (oo er missus)
I now need to see just how big my guard army is. Probably around 4k points.
Love the sheer volume of carnage going on
I finally found this guy again, thank you algorithm
Must be a sucker for punishment, taking on Tau in an open map like this. 🙂
Gorgeous and well done batrep. Wouldn’t you wait till end of shooting phase to reanimate rather we than after every unit fire?
No…you reanimate after each unit shoots or you’d more likely get wiped out before getting a chance.
Really well done, was a fun watch.
Awesome way to start new year - a Winters mega batrep! Hoping the Necrons smash those Tau!
Great fun to watch, new sub here
love to see xenos vs xenos never enough battles of that
i been waiting to find tau vs necron

Jesus, Tau shooting is ridiculous.
Love bending the rules for a fun narrative
Superb game, thanks fellas
I really like the color scheme for the necrons, but that yellow looks like it's missing something.
awesome love to see these large fights
👏 crackin work gents
Go Bots! Thanks for sharing
nice painting
I wish this game was fun to play :( after playing battletech, I can't deal with the simplicity of warhammer anymore :(
First time watching a game and that was brilliant!
Thank you

Yeah the Ta'unar is a bit overpriced for its current capabilities
Would love to see a guard vs votann game, 2 new codexes battling it out
Yo the thumb nail made me need to do a double take, thought it was from a game before I read the video title
The Necrons can't die either, they just phase out.
Nice batrep!
PS Techno cant ressurect scarab. It can ressurect core. Scarab is not core.
Ken beauty lads 🤙
How do you guys transport all this shit without breaking tons of it? They look like they'd at least be breaking off their platforms pretty frequently.
Great fun altogether now.
Great video! But you can not reanimate scarabs as they are not core
Just awesome!
Very cool
