Thank you! That was the intention on this Guide! I used similar techniques on my Alpha Legion, but with a Airbrush. This is why i choose this time the full brush way :)
Is applying Gloss Varnish before oil shading necessary? If I don't do it, cleaning oil wash will be harder? or armor will be 'less metallic'? I actually love this paint job, and thinking about painting new release Emperor children this way, but since this new models have more fabric elements like cloaks etc I'm just thinking is that gloss necessary? ^^
The gloss varnish is necessary to protect the colors from the mineral spirit. Yoi shluld basically paint everything i cluding the clothes then apply the gloss varnish and the oil wash. To keep the color matt but still metallic for metallics and matt for fabrics and regular colors, i apply a satin varnish at the end of the work. 😁
Great tutorial again You've given me motivation to start painting Warhammer again. Just a quick question probably stupid but do you add water to the varnishes if you were applying them with a brush or straight from the pot?
Straight brush from the pod with the Vallejo premium ones. don't put them on a wt pallet, use a clean metal or plastic pot for soak up your brush. And this is in no way a stupid question! :)
I notice it looks like you stipple the primer / undercoat on instead of brushing. Is that just a trick of the camera or is there a reason for that? Does it matter?
@@plaguenarr Yes but the average of new painter don't have an airbrush like me but just watching your video I improved so much so i cant wait for a video of you painting a tank
I appreciate that you make tutorials with techniques that do not require an airbrush - very useful for beginners :D

Look awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Quick question: did you use mineral spirits on the sponge to remove the oil wash?
no spirits at all involved. Just eyeshadow applicator tools, you will need about 2-3 for a clean finish.
where did you get the transfers?
These are from, the official Forgeworld Trasfer sheet.
I notice it looks like you stipple the primer / undercoat on instead of brushing. Is that just a trick of the camera or is there a reason for that? Does it matter?
I don't stipple the primer. The primer is sprayed on. I stipple on the base coat, that's essential to get a basic texture and small shadows. 😄
@@plaguenarrgood to know. Is there purpose to having contrast medium mixed with the contrast and could you just use neat contrast?
When speed painting a tank ?
Good idea will keep that in mind for the stuff i could do after my heresy series. But to be honest, i think a airbrush is on big models a must have.
😆

@@MyMilitare I will keep that in mind pal! Maybe i gonna start with a dread or something like that. 😄
@@plaguenarr I can't wait 🥳

Thank you!
Why not airbrush the metallic and the contrast on top? Why do it with a brush? I see it all the time but don't get why people do it.
Just read a couple of comments, take a look on my channel before you ask silly questions and you will figure it out Sherlock ;)
