Unfortunately we've all been spoiled by the sounds of some other games, Tarkov in particular has one of if not the best sounding gun collection in all of gaming.
In fact , the guy that they used for most of it was an operator for 20 years. His entire purpose on the project was to make the models move the way he actually moved .
Mocap is one thing. Shittily implimenting it is another. When they say they move robotically take a look at how the AI either B-lines it through bushes or turns sharply and that's the issue. In real life you would kinda traverse around whatever object, you wouldn't have perfect form walking the way these characters are. @@DummyThinksThoughts
The environments remind me a lot of Crysis 1 but with much more advanced graphics tech wise, it's incredibly beautiful and a natural looking game! Though the first person animations are definitely a bit stiff and unpolished as well as third person animations but the game is in early access so it's not a big deal as long as it gets fleshed out later on. Not gonna lie I'm excited to see how this turns out!
The gameplay trailer looks promising and for pre-alpha it has a solid foundation. With continued expansion on sounds, effects, animations and gameplay - which I'm sure the developers will do - this could really take off!

As someone who is from a country with rice paddy, Mud physics on those rice paddy should be fixed. They were just literally walking on it as if it were some normal hardened dirt, its actually muddy and quite deep in reality - very hard to walk on, talk about running in them.

this not uncut gameplay, its not even 100% gameplay, its onrails script for alot of this, a hint for this is the heli ride is short, won't load to much for system, the run from heli to first contact is on rails, the cuts from switching, also the devs even said they had to stitch "game play sessions together"
the guns sounds like the m4 from css, no suppression , no sound of the impacts of the bullets , the animations are clunky , the stance when idle is wayyy to static... A lot of works still need to be done but that looks promising

Graphics look nice but that's to be expected with UE5, the gameplay and weapon mechanics just seem extremely generic. This is far closer to a casuals DMZ than it is even remotely close to Tarkov.
lmao umm you clearly havent researched the game, they're having the most advanced and modern ballistics and bullet physics in any game by a mile. weapon mechanics? this is exactly how a real like m4 would handle when shot by a soldier, they dont fly up in the air like COD, literal 8 year olds shoot an AR easily. also all weapon handling is mocapped and based on special forces operators they hired so....
You know for everyone saying gunshots sound odd, while the tone of them does sound a bit odd (I'd up the bass, give them some more oomph without just making them louder), odds are they're supposed to be wearing peltors or some electronic hearing protection that cuts the volume. Through that lense, it's not that bad.

If they're electronic, they only cut out noises that are a certain volume, like gunshots, but not muffle more normal sounds like talking or frogs. Can confirm, frogs are not loud enough to trigger activate hearing protection.

Looks great, sound design needs some polishing, atmosphere is louder than the gun fire. Can definitely see myself putting hours in, love the textures and the overall feel of the map.
Graphics sure are nice. Ragdolls are a bit odd though. Bullet Impacts just make them drop in place and fold like they’re gummy worms. Hopefully they tune them to look like they’re actually being hit with a projectile

It's a PvEvP game from what they've said. Kinda like if old ghost recon had a dash of extraction shooter, except everything is persistent in the server instead of being on a raid timer system.
my guess is copters are just on a continuous loop. We also don't know how they decided to enter the server. This could be a clean-up run (similar to scavs in tarkov), or some other mode. We literally don't know much about the game up to this point in the video.
Overall, love the look and style of this game. One suggestion - side chain the volume of the wildlife, so it sits back in the mix during a gunfight. Then, afterwards, when you're having a brew with the lads those bastard frogs can start up ribbiting again.
