A strange trend among fascists is their rather good sense of fashionable uniforms. That force lightning doesn't quite seem to work the same way. Not that fascism is a good thing, but if you do become one, then make note not to use force lightning. It will only lead to your uglification.

After all he still needed him. Anakin didn't do what he did until after palps stopped shooting lightning. So again he didn't have to shoot it for Anakin to turn

Palpatine didn't learn his lesson even in the sequels he shoots lightning at lightsabers.
It's supposed to be extremely difficult to deflect force lightning but it's usually overkill on all opponents except those skillful enough to do it anyway.

Personally, I kind of love that Palpatine's only real weakness is his own Force lighting being used against him. But he's such an *extra* drama queen that he just can't stop himself from using his showiest move, no matter how often it backfires.
That’s because it rarely backfires. Palpatine’s biggest flaw is that he lets himself be consumed in the dark side which renders his judgment blind as a bat
I think he did it that way in Revenge of the Sith intentionally. He makes himself look weaker, like he is dying, so that Anakin thinks he has to stop Mace Windu and save Palpatine. But once Anakin cuts Mace Windu's hand, Palpatine using force lightning on Windu again and throws him out the window, revealing that he wasn't actually weak.
Well, now he's learned his lesson and probably won't do the same thing at the end of the other 2 trilogies.

Mace was the only one that suspected that the Sith were back. Yoda was always in his "difficult to sense or see" mode that allowed Palpatine to do his thing.
And when Mace got confirmation about the return of the Sith, he immediately acted on that tip. The only reason that he failed was because Anakin betrayed him.

This was hilarious. I lost it at so many parts, the high waisted khaki shorts, the socks and sandals part, and the part where the sandals were too small…and all the “don’t use the lightning again” moments. Idk what kind of comedy this is but it is exactly my type.
Trying to stop force lighting is kinda like trying to stop pissing mid stream, it feels weird and slightly hurts.
