My husband used the fence that has smaller squares then put about 6” in the ground the bottom was turned out and barried before putting dirt down the bottom of the fence and turned like a backward L then put dirt over it we NEVER have any problems with predators LOVE YOU GUYS ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🏻🥰
We did the same..and never had a problem.

I watched Popeyes as a kid, but kiboshed it for my kids. When my 3 year old decided to start beating up his baby sister because he ate his spinach. His interpretation was not one I, nor his sister, could live with. 😂

Those boys are just the best! Most would run away but not your boys. You have raised up some wonderful children. All of them are hard working sweet kids and smart as can be. They know how to figure things out and are not afraid to take on a challenge!

Watched Popeye and Oliveoyle as a child. You are a hard worker, Mike (and your boys & Lacey and Saylah(sp?)When I was growing up we raised Muscovy ducks. Their names were Daffy, Dino, Desi, and Dominick. They were quite friendly, happy and sure wagged their tails a lot. Good memories! Good luck with “Duckingham Palace”.

When I was a child I loved to help my Dad in the garden. that is where he taught me my multiplication tables. All my life I have wonderful memories of him taking the time to teach me doing things we both enjoyed. He could have gotten it done so much faster but...

👍🏽 It’s great seeing the father / son teaching time together. The duck enclosure is cool. Make sure to put a cross brace on the gate to give it reinforcement/ strength. Probably be a good idea to put a goose in each section you have the ducks in for added security.

I think your boys would have enjoyed it better if you had the power drill with the largest attachment for drilling holes for bulb planting and then finish it off with the post hole digger if needed.
We used to have Muscovy ducks when I was a kid. Our purpose was just for eggs.

I've had the same experience with fencing. I wanted permanent, but I went with premier 1. The grass around it got high (I work full-time off the farm as a teacher). It was no longer an effective barrier. My pigs got out, and my chickens were all killed by predators. I no longer leep farm animals, and I won't until I have adequate permanent fences.
My brother and I did the same thing, we ate spinach then we would wrestle, just like Popeye! Fun times Brother
I had ducks, i loved them, they are messy, but it didnt bother me, but i got to were i couldnt take care of them, si l had to find them homes.,,,put i sure miss them ... your boys are wonderful they help you with everything. Wonderful boys all your children are wonderful..... ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I just finished my duck moat around my garden! It’s patterned after Living Traditions Homestead’s idea. Ducks are happy and laying eggs!!! Yum! We started out with an electric fence too. We have Appleyards.

I am not trying to be a negative Nelly and I think it’s great to have kids help, because my son helps us too. However, we do have to keep in mind that they are still children and I believe there’s a fine line of helping and child labor. I know there’s also certain laws. I know the kids are good listeners and will listen to their mom and dad but to me they didn’t seem too happy. I would let them help but children are children and need to play and be children. They will have plenty of their adult life to work. Colossians 3:21. We don’t want to discourage our children from work by making them over work. Just wanted to say this and I mean it in a very loving manner. I am a big advocate of little ones. God bless!
