That’s an extremely uneducated and highly offensive comment. Less than 10 members of SOTG committed war crimes and this is unacceptable. The men in this film are regular army and no war crimes were committed by any of the regular army. However, many regular Australian army soldiers were killed trying to bring critical infrastructure to the people who lived under the oppression and poverty of the Taliban. Have some respect champ

The us is just a disaster when it comes to international affairs. The concept of going in with all guns blazing, chanting usa and waving the us flag works in the us, it doesn't work ANYWHERE else.
All over Afghanistan and Iraq, all the people have to say is that the us has caused more problems than were even there in the first place.
That's not to say this "hearts and minds" catchphrase is great, but simply being there to provide security in support of local forces to enable these countries to rebuild is a lot better than destroying everything and turning more people into enemies.

I joined army for a damn good reason. I joined in October 2001. Call me what ever you want, inhumane or cruel. I Love my country and America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country. America was targeted for attack because we are the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world, and no one will keep that light from shining, and whether we bring our enemies to justice, or justice to our enemies, justice will be done

    • @jacobjorgenson9285

No, you were targeted for attack because a false flag attack would make you are puppet to be controlled . A puppet show that would make the nation send their young men to die in a shithole sand box 9000 miles from America for reasons you will never understand much less accept. You have never seen evidence BinLanden or any other Muslim was behind 911. You’ve seen no good reason to attack Afghanistan. And in that light America is nothing but a terrorist state

Furthermore, one must remember that this is Afghanistan we're talking about. No army in history has ever conquered or had any lasting influence in this country...not even the full weight of the Soviet army in a ten-year campaign could defeat the mujahideen.
As a result of that war,the Taleban have excellent experience of modern warfare on their own turf and, unlike the Coalition armies who are restricted by their own media, public and politicians' influence, the Taleban will just keep fighting.

In the case of the US most of the conflicts they've been involved in have either been due to a desire to help the indiginous people or as a response to an attack on them (like Afghanistan). In rare cases conflicts are brought about due to the decision to take a strategicly pre-emptive strike (like Iraq)!

The problem is that most of our NATO allies have sent a token force of a few hundred soldiers to Afghanistan to "help" our effort to fight the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Of course, that ship has sailed now but if our friends have sent more troops in 2001-2004 time frame we would have wiped the floor with them. For example some smaller countries like Denmark have sent 120 troops. I mean come on.. Nobody was expecting that a 5 million people country would send 2 brigades but if they sent 1000 soldiers and Germany 10 000 (remember we sent millions of young men to save your ass Germany from yourself and after that we guarded your ass from the Soviets for another 40 years) thinks would be different now. You could have returned the favor and help a bit more. German state of military is in shambles. They are a joke. German Army sent some IFVs to a NATO exercise that had broom sticks instead of machines guns since they didn't have money to equip them with 50 cal machine guns. Also currently German's Navy is in such a sad state of affairs that they don't have a single operational Type 212 AIP submarine. Some are in deep overhaul while others wait for the regular meintnance that can't be done cause their shipyards are a joke. Again if there weren't US troops in mainland Europe Putin could take a walk to Berlin and bitch slap Angela Merkel and her croonies that can't wait to crawl up the Putin's ass cause they stand to make millions through lucrative oil business with Russians. Pathetic. Although I can't stand the Orange buffoon he has one thing right, Europe has to give more money to joint defense and military cause they can't count only on a US nuclear shield. And we're not talking about some small NATO countries like Croatia or Slovenia. We're talking about an economical giant Germany that currently has around 70 operational tanks-. 70!!!!! Heinz Guderian would turn in his grave if he knew this.

We'd have the man of the house walk us around, ask him to open things, go through it, say thank you & be on our way. No, that is not the right point of view to have in this case.
In terms of winning a war, enemy casualty levels are no indicator of success.
A perfect example is Vietnam: back then the US were a nation at their economic peak and had the best-equipped army in the world. They lost 58,000 dead, killed over a million enemy troops and were still totally defeated. They won the battles but lost the war.
The West could kill a million Taleban and still fail in Afghanistan, this is a very real possibility.

@JoshuaHistoryBuff "The Bombing of Dresden by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Army Air Force (USAAF) between 13 February and 15 February 1945.A 1953 United States Air Force report written by Joseph W. Angell defended the operation as the justified bombing of a military and industrial target, which was a major rail transportation and communication centre, housing 110 factories and 50,000 workers in support of the German war effort." you was there.you thought it was right

Sorry but you're wrong again. Just because there are AK-47s and RPGs in the hands of the "Arabs" doesn't mean Russia supplied them with political intent. Almost all Soviet weapons in the hands of "terrorists" are from the 70s and 80s,when Russia desperately sold off millions of arms throughout Africa,Asia and the Middle East as the Soviet regime was losing the Cold War and began to go bankrupt. In Afghanistan, they're armed with the guns they took from the Soviet troops during the '79 - '89 war.

... There Are Over 26 Members In NATO. If Afghanistan Does Not Want Us There, Why Did They Ask Us To Stay Longer? This Mission Has Been Aproved By The UN. Where In The Hell Did You Ever Encounter Or Hear About Genocide?
