Give it a try Shane, it tends to out produce other techniques. The key is feeling the lure hit the bottom then quickly snapping it up, which mimics a baitfish trying to dart away.

Good old whip retrieve. We used to beat the fish up back in the 60s with feather jigs but in shallower water. Bet it works great with braided line!
