Can you please teach us how to do that beautiful oval shape. I see it in Russian manicures all the time but here in the US everywhere I go, they just can't get that shape down for me at all. They end up doing a fat, ugly almond that look almost stilleto and I just keep changing locations. Now I want to do my own nails at home (well we have to now but it's less expensive anyways because I'm a student). I'm trying to learn a lot about overlay to help my nails grow. I have dip powder overlay and do gel topcoat for now. Maybe I'll learn new overlays that are better like hard gel thats more common in Russia I think. Soft gel lifts so much and my nail still breaks. Please show us how to make that beautiful nail shape!!! Thank you 😊
In my opinion this shape is much more flattering to the hand and nails, especially if the nails aren't very long, the pointed almonds just make the cuticle area look wide and the whole nail ends up looking stubby, unless it's a good lenght. If you have a good handfile it should be easy to do it, just play around a little
Maybe try doing a coffin and rounding the edges? And also try polygel it worked great to grow my nails. I have got to try the paper clip method!!! Never thought of this!! This is ingenious!! Thanks! I’m always fighting with my side walls when I paint my nails and trying to get close enough but having to remove polish that inevitably gets on the skin.
When I grow out my nails now I usually do the squroval shape because it’s the easiest way to file personally because it more focused on the top then the sides and when I do round the nails look shorter and more narrow but you I’ve seen benefits and cons from both shapes
I just wanted to add, that I really enjoy ur choice of music behind your videos ❤️ Since Im a nail biter, I can't use regular nail polish, so I grow my nails under gel, then soak the extensions off and just cover with gel polish when they have grown enough
Like Dory said, yeah you have to either leave a thin layer behind, or file the product down to that thin amount then soak off the rest so it doesn't damage your natural nail. I grow my natural nails and have done so for a few years. I personal file down the product till I can look down the length of my nail (from the tip looking down to the cuticle), and barely be able to see any remaining product and THEN I will soak off the rest, or add fresh product over it.
when I started, my nails were very thin and brittle, but ever since I switched to high quality primers (non acidic!!!) and bonders they have recovered and are now so strong, a thin layer of overlay gel is all I need. my recommendation: spend a bit more money and get good quality products. ( I use the non acidic primer from cnd and an OPI base coat).
