I’m an Apre’ gel nail tech. When a client waits too long for a fill and they have grown out like these have I simply trim the product to the natural nail and soak them off because these tips soak off faster than they can be filed off. This is also another reason why I like apre’ gel. For clients that hate lots of filing I choose this product. I use the foil wrap technique for 10 minutes and the start the removal process on the nail I first wrapped. Using a 100 grit board to roll the product off the nail, that seems speedier than using a cuticle pusher or orange wood stick.
We are definitely our own biggest critic lol I see that they are I little wider but they are still very beautiful 😍 I'm so glad you decided to share this with us 😍❤❤
I have done infills on the Apres gel x system with acrylic, but only after 2 weeks & they don’t lose their shape.there’s a very small difference between the the new replaced nail & the rest of set.I believe that you over worked for this infill, you would’ve been done sooner had you done a new set.I really appreciate the time you took to give us this class👏🏼👏🏼💕

Most of the time, doing nails isn't fun for me because my mistakes make me feel like I'm not good enough. So thank you! This lets me know to keep going and always seek to improve.
A_vokadas You’re not gonna damage the natural nail by soaking off Apres and reapplying, literally zero damage. However, leaving them on for too long and risking lifting and water getting in there causing mold and/or fungus can cause damage.
she has to take into consideration what the client wants though. if they really like the shape of the tips or how they feel in general and if she cant reproduce it the same way entirely from scratch. i guess in this case she would have wanted to do them from scratch anyway.

I think since you know and have achieved such excellent standards that this nail set is disheartening to you. Really for no fault of your own. If you had been aware of what the tips would do you would've started over from the beginning. Now you have shown many people a very valuable lesson in time. Thank you for that!
I've had experience with apres nails and I've noticed it's always been easier to use acetone because they basically melt. I've never drilled them because I don't think they are meant to be drilled. but I also understand that she wants a refill 👍
I agree! I use my e-file to remove color only and then hand file the rest for fills. It's not worth the effort if there's more than a little lifting on any nails, though.

The nails still look lovely 💕👌🏽 but because you know the standard of how you work you find this infill unacceptable . As nail techs we can be very critical of our work but you will find that the client if knows your work well enough will still say the nails are fine 💕. Its nice that you shared the video . Hard to share the oops's always. I have several styles of Apres and have never had this type of experience when filling - and I fill with gel, but all of mine are Sculpted type. As you said, maybe losing as much of the thickness as you did to do all the correction you needed to. Thank-you for sharing your experiences.

I am not a fan of that system. I bought the enailcoture ones, and even though they're amazing, I still prefer sculpted nails in terms of strength and longevity. I had lots of liftings within the first 10 days and decided to remove them immediately. Also, I never ever have liftings with regular builder gel.
Really? Did you use enailcouture gel? I have an apres set on now week 6 I’m taking them off tomorrow because they’re starting to get so off balance they are bending my natural nail. No lifting at all. I was actually trying to tear them off lol but they wouldn’t budge! I think that’s so crazy I’ve never had acrylic or dip stay on this well this long
I've had mine from enailcouture on now for 31 days. No lifting at all. I liked them so much, I ordered more of the same xxl stiletto, coffin in clear and nude, and oval.
I don’t see how people can wear any of those systems for more than two weeks. Maybe now in isolation but they always end up bending on my hands . I wouldn’t say I’m too hard on my hands either. If I put something over the top it’s a little better but then what’s the point of doing them if I still have to shape

Very educational! Your work is always very great and it's good to know that I'm not the only one who had this issue as well! They still came out beautiful 💕
Scleroderma Smarter Right. It’s supposed to be a 100% soak off system each time. I’ve had them for up to 5 weeks and only then was there some lift age.
Those tips are beautiful but they are hard to work with when it’s time to fill them. I’m happy to know I’m not the only one who has had a hard shaping them. They do seem to spread and look wider after curing and filing its as easy because the shape get worst and even starts to look crooked if not careful.
They look fine . For me though , I feel like systems like this are no more different than full glue on nails. The only difference would be using gel as the glue . These systems result in nails with no structure or apex .... a flat nail . No one needs any skill to glue on these type of nails .... like per say , sculpting nails with a paper form and product .
they have pre-sculptured nails so it has a full apex they also have them short long, box, square, round, oval, stiletto. funny you say glue but i like to think of the gel as a glue, i have used all kinds of nails and i have to say the systems go as press on nails being easiest to last then apex nails then acrylic then gel for me. reason press ons are last and easiest is because they don't have a structure or apex, where as apex nails do and are not flat at all.
. Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed sounds more like a user error. They are structured with more of a c-curve that runs down the whole tip. As far as the apex goes, that’s normally an issue if you’re pressing them down too much/flat. I feel their “sculpted” ones tend to have a deeper c curve and there’s more space in between the tip and natural nail to sort of do a reverse apex where you just have to fill in that gap which fills the apex, if that makes sense? Idk, I’ve done them on quite a few clients and they didn’t have issues with them snapping off. You get 2 fills or so before you have to do a rebalance
I’ve been using another brand of full cover for about 9 months now and I find if there is any lifting I need to remove the whole nail. They just don’t file down well IMHO. I do fills all the time but only on the nails that haven’t got any lifting which is usually most of them. I’m really hard on my nails and have been using a poly gel to attach and I seem to get better results on myself this way since they are very strong 💪 with no lifting. But I thank you for your willingness to show us that we aren’t the only ones critical of our own process!! Love love love ❤️ your videos Anastasia you are really patient and explain things really well. Hope your staying safe and above all healthy!! 💕💕💕💕💕
It was really interesting to see that these tip lost their inner c-curve when all the surrounding structure was gone😉 Don't be so hard on yourself.😘 You can see from all of these comments that you did a great job!👍I know after learning from the best teacher how important a good c-curve is and I want to scream it from the rooftops😉😁😅 But almost every client are more than happy with a result like this👍😘 Otherwise I have only done easy infills with no lifting on max's forms and that went fine. And I usually like to use my regular gel pots for most of my work. But if I am doing a simple infill with no additional problems I often turn to a gel in a bottle. Thanks you so much for sharing this video sweetie!😘 We all learned so much from this😁👍👏😘💖💖💖
The gel apres provides is very soft and rubbery. Like a gel polish consistency rather than an extension gel. You could do infill if you use a different extension gel but definitely not with the one they provided
Meaghan Lamm mine last from 6/8 weeks with one fill and I’m super hard on my nails and use the XXL 123 go from enailcouture they are amazing. I put them on with a polygel or similar or soufflé gel from same company and they never lift in fact when I soak off it takes longer than doing a full set.
Emily Bacon what is the point of your response? My comment is about how people can go 6-8 weeks without any nails popping off not about how much it costs.
Thank you for sharing this video! I was also struggling with Ares’ nails but I thought it was my lack of expertise. I had a terrible time removing any product from my nails on top and through them. I even thought at one point, is the drill bit sliding on them and not penetrating? I was using a coarse drill bit. Perhaps easier had I just soaked off. But I was already too invested to start over plus sheer determination. They also looked worse when I got down to them. Thanks again for sharing! I love all your videos. Very informative, educational plus you’re adorable watching. 💕
I work with the Apres Gel X system a ton (I offer it as an express service and have used them on myself since they first launched) and I've done lots of successful fills with them but they are so soft to file (especially once you get down to just the extend gel, that gel is soft and gummy af) that they can be really fussy to fill and they soak off so fast compared to any other extension product that it's honestly much faster to soak them off than to file them off or fill them. At this point I only fill them if the client has no lifting and originally came to me with bad damage that needs to grow out entirely protected, in those cases I use a tougher hard gel base layer (usually Light Elegance) under the gel X extensions for extra protection from the file.
I did an infill on full cover tips like this. I noticed the same problem with the c curve flattening out and looking wide. It's much better to start fresh.
Thank you for sharing. Seeing other people have issues helps tremendously with my learning for sure.. I get so stuck on my mistakes that i lose sleep!!
We all have bad day from time to time ,I find when I’m having a bad day I’m even more critical of my work which doesn’t help..I’m sure your client still loved them , and did not even notice the difference , being a nail tec we become perfectionist because we see all the nails together and want them to all match perfectly ,
I think they look good. Don't be so hard on yourself. I just used full nails off Amazon and they have kept the c curve great. I had one with an air bubble that I had to remove part of the nail (on myself). They held up great and still are great.
Thanx for sharing an being so honest. I did a fill with gel x for my daughter an omg it’s ti much work. The gel x as u said has its shape ❤ an structure so once u remove it it totally changes it all. It’s best to do a new set definitely.
Yes I experience the same. Some clients can be very naughty and it takes some time to educate them not to pick and bite. Especially when they come to me with bitten natural nails I know they are going to go after the new nails like a pit bull goes after a new chew toy, lol.
Hi Anastasia. The truth is that for me they were beautiful!!! Painted, no defects visible. Now I ask you: is it worth spending so much time refilling, leaking and so on when you would spend less making a new set? I'm new to this nail thing that's why my doubt.
I appreciate your honesty and I think your being much harder on yourself that you need too, I still think they look nice. But I have also come to the same conclusion I do not fill apre, I just soak off and new set
When I have to remove nails with this problem I get very nervous 😅 that I started sweating so I rather remove them and not just that , i spend too much time filling .🌹
Great video! Thank you I use Young Nails Fiber Gel to adhere these Apres Nails and I get 3 weeks before I rebalance and they still keep the shape but after 5 weeks I have to do a new set.
I just had the same issue and wound up having to start over with polygel and still hating the results. Just like you, I was going to never reveal my struggles but decided instead to do it because I am not perfect or a pro.
My gosh! They look awesome! But I do understand that when you know you are good and sometimes things don’t go the way you want you can be harsh on yourself! Again they look beautiful !
Infills are hard period. Everytime I do my own infill, I seem to have a tendency to widen the nails... Even if I go trough my filing routine as usual. You did however do a good job even if you hated the result yourself. Troubleshooting 101! Now back to the re-doing-video of these ^^
I will only do a fill if they are in very good condition and usually only at 2 weeks, not longer. The next appt they are replaced with a new set. Only one fill. You pick a bad candidate for a fill.
Danellr007 Yes but not all clients come every two weeks nor do all clients allow Nail techs to do a new set. For the clients that wish to keep their original set for more than one infill, do you not take those clients? How do you deal with that?
Wow you can tell you are such a pro, because they look really good to me! I get it though, I’m also anal retentive about my nails lol. SO happy I found your channel, absolutely loving your videos girl!!
Can you do a video on how to prevent nail allergies and share some knowledge in regards to this topic? I think it will help a lot of us doing our own nails and some people aren't even aware that nail allergies are a thing =O Thank you! xox
You can actually pinch them by heating them a little and letting them cool in the pinching tool. I'm not a nail tech but got this tip from a hair client of mine who is a nail tech 😊
Took a lot of courage from your side to say this in a video about yourself's work..even though online all is "perfect" , "flawless" ,"best work" and so on. Many people do not realise that showing your mistakes makes you stronger in your field, by accepting and improving constantly. 😏
Thanks, Denise
they have pre-sculptured nails so it has a full apex they also have them short long, box, square, round, oval, stiletto. funny you say glue but i like to think of the gel as a glue, i have used all kinds of nails and i have to say the systems go as press on nails being easiest to last then apex nails then acrylic then gel for me. reason press ons are last and easiest is because they don't have a structure or apex, where as apex nails do and are not flat at all.
I don’t understand how so many people can go so long without getting a fill. Mine start popping off after 2ish weeks
Some of my clients will definitely set a record there, I had one after 2 months 😒
ps quarantine has nothing to do with it, was way before that
Meaghan Lamm mine last from 6/8 weeks with one fill and I’m super hard on my nails and use the XXL 123 go from enailcouture they are amazing. I put them on with a polygel or similar or soufflé gel from same company and they never lift in fact when I soak off it takes longer than doing a full set.
@@traceyevans215 me too so much easier I love my 123 go nails!
Because Meaghan, there are people that can't afford to pay every 2 weeks for an infill or a redo. U do know it's very expensive right? No offence.
Emily Bacon what is the point of your response? My comment is about how people can go 6-8 weeks without any nails popping off not about how much it costs.
Thank you for sharing this video especially since you weren't very happy with the results. They still looked really nice.
Thank you, Patricia!
Thanks! Yes, soaking them off is definitely easier and faster
Awe you are bringing to hard on yourself! I’m very glad you shared!
I feel ya on this! It’s why I won’t use these systems. Sculpting is king for a reason 👑
Thank you for sharing. Seeing other people have issues helps tremendously with my learning for sure.. I get so stuck on my mistakes that i lose sleep!!
Glad it was helpful!
I love when you say "let me guys know" instead of "guys let me know" 😉
They're gorgeous! Relax, don't be so hard on you. Greetings from Argentina!💕
Thanx for sharing an being so honest. I did a fill with gel x for my daughter an omg it’s ti much work. The gel x as u said has its shape ❤ an structure so once u remove it it totally changes it all. It’s best to do a new set definitely.
Thank you for sharing this! I'll definitely not go over 3 weeks.
I recently filled Apres GelX and NEVER AGAIN! filing took forever and the lifting was insane!!!! I feel your pain here!!!
I used the Xtens gel to fill my Gel x tipe. I can normally get 2 fills before I soak off and put on a new set.
I love those. Your mistakes are lovely!
Thank you for sharing your experience. As you said we learn from mistakes.
I just had the same issue and wound up having to start over with polygel and still hating the results. Just like you, I was going to never reveal my struggles but decided instead to do it because I am not perfect or a pro.
My gosh! They look awesome! But I do understand that when you know you are good and sometimes
things don’t go the way you want you can be harsh on yourself! Again they look beautiful !
I really love love love those colors!!
I see nothing wrong! I get it though, you take pride in the work you do. Just know Anna, you're the only one that can see the imperfections. 😉💜❤
Infills are hard period. Everytime I do my own infill, I seem to have a tendency to widen the nails... Even if I go trough my filing routine as usual. You did however do a good job even if you hated the result yourself. Troubleshooting 101! Now back to the re-doing-video of these ^^
Thanks!
I personally did a total of 4 infills in 3 months, on of one set of apres gel x nails. And they were xxl square tips.I love them. I'll never go back
Thank you so much for sharing your learning process!
Sou do Brasil, e mesmo não falando a língua entendo. Você explica muito bem . Parabéns pelo trabalho. Eu vejo seus vídeos e me inspiro.
That was a learning experience. Not a lack of your skill. Those nails look great.
Thanks 👍
Must have taken forever, plz don't feel embarrassed were all human 😁thank you for sharing hun 🤗 xxx
What is the best polygel to buy it.what was the name you put on top the nails what base coat
Wow! Your worst is my best. Lol I know you have a standard for yourself, but I really do like your end product.
I'd be very happy with those nails over the others they look so natural shaped and not like claws and those shades are gorgeous. 💕 Xxxx
Wow you can tell you are such a pro, because they look really good to me! I get it though, I’m also anal retentive about my nails lol. SO happy I found your channel, absolutely loving your videos girl!!
Glad you posted this. 🙂
I really wish that you were my nail tech you do an awesome job
Can you do a video on how to prevent nail allergies and share some knowledge in regards to this topic? I think it will help a lot of us doing our own nails and some people aren't even aware that nail allergies are a thing =O Thank you! xox
I agree. I would just soak them off and start a new set at 4 weeks also.
They look amazing be happy of ur things God bless you ✌
You can actually pinch them by heating them a little and letting them cool in the pinching tool.
These may be your worst- but they are better than 80% of other techs BEST work, so I'd say they still look phenomenal.
