There are also the philanthropists. They hang out in the Nexus. They bless others with high credit items and then dash. I literately went from 20,000 credits to 15,000,000 in a few minutes because of a benefactor.
That's actually a curse. They spoiled you of all the fun of getting the credits on your own. The fun, and the learning.. And now everything you buy is just meaningless because you never had to put an effort into it.
@@liberteus it wasn’t my first rodeo. I have over 2000 hours invested. So, I have several saves. I agree though it was a definite shortcut and let me get down to business way earlier than usual.
@@liberteusI disagree with this. On my very first playthrough I had someone drop me 10 stasis devices while I was about 60 hours in. Oh boy, did I have some fun with that save. Did it make me want to quit? Yes, it did. But not in the way you think. I thought,”damn, I want to make those and give them out to people to show how deep this game goes” it inspired me to start a new save and dive deeper than ever before. If not for that mysterious philanthropist, I may have never picked up the game again.
I give those out hundreds of times. Only once did someone give them back. I’ll just drop 30 into people’s inventory.
How do I be a philanthropist? Got a lot of stuff but I don’t know how to give it to people.
You missed my group The Pirate Robinhood's. 😂 I steal from freighters and then take the loot and pass it out at the anomaly to anyone landing in a Pillar. We Pirates are never represented. 🏴☠ Great vid really enjoyed it... even though you forgot us.
Steal from thy rich and give to thy poor
I’m what I call a no mans sky explorer, I like looking for cool and weird planets, I usually play in creative mode so I can explore the game freely. I am going to start a survival run of the game in the future.
Yo how goes the survival save creative wuss? 😂
The explorers, like me. The weird thing about true explorers is you have seen a lot, sometimes I will see a channel advertising this unique ship or that kind of multi tool and then I have seen it months ago or appropriate it a long time ago in another galaxy. Though I must admit that I do like to collect squid ships. (No I never collect from other peoples co ordinates, that is just part of my explorer's adventure)
I also belong to the CUN*S galactic domain 😂
I have been just about all of these player types at one time or another. Great video Prof!
Same 😂😂
@@ProfessorCynical So I was performing a home circumcision on myself and that got me thinking....
@@XxiouGames 😂😂😂
You forgot the Cooks. I spends hours cooking everything and experiment new recipes.
Philanthropist, Builder, Stat Roller and Ship Hunter: Solars only.
I'm the one guy that glitches every single day for my own benefit. And also regular game modding to make my pets gigantic, trade them for others, as I previously have with other players. I literally gave a guy 20x starship ai valves in exchange for 200 solanium for my settlement... And as for the anomaly duplication glitch, I give the people some really expensive stuff - it's scummy to see people glitch for themselves and give others like 1x ferrite dust to make it work.
AND your refiner duplication glitch too, still working till this day and as effective as ever. I've gained decent amounts of eyes in the subreddit for my modding habits. You could've mentioned the PC modders too, lel.
The noobs, was one and would say im still one of them event tho i have passed 300h in game now.
Ship hunter, yes, me and a couple of friends do this and we love it. It's so much fun. I just posted a video of me attempting to get a Dreadnaught Large Capital Ship to S-class
Builders, yes, me and my friends a awe smacked how got some people are in the game, and we strive to come there ourselves.
Glitchers, YES. It brings a new meaning to the game as long as you don't over do it, but that is only for me. Glitching bases is alot of fun, but glitching other stuff to much, for me, might ruin the game.
I'm getting more and more into upgrades, but im still lacking a bit there.
So far, the game has given me so much, and i hope i can give at least some of it back to the community.
You forgot one group. The ADD sufferers. We are the ones who start everything but rarely finish anything because of the the multitudinous distractions. "Oh look! A Squirrel (nice ship). Oh look. A squirrel (a trading post). Oh look! A squirrel (another Paradise Planet). Oh look! A squirrel (out of carbon). Oh look! A squirrel (just found out something new like Supercharged Slots)! Oh look! A squirrel (Wait... you can tell from off-planet if there is a storm on the surface just by looking at the amount of cloud cover from space? No wayyyyyy....)."
It's endless. And perfect for people like me. Because this is the kind of game where folks like me never feel like we are falling behind because our short attention span and impulsivity. It's perfect. If we accomplish absolutely nothing, we still enjoy ourselves thoroughly.
hybrid type here, Explorer/ roleplay/ Ship Hunter, I have 3 different characters-Green Manalishi, Emerald Triangle, Golden Pyramid.I Find it , scan it, leave com unit for resources found, and Portals , then on to next system! love this game I'm going on almost a year of playing.
Love your content Professor! When not building, I enjoy handing out stacks of stasis devices from my farm to travelers in the anomaly and community build sites. NMS has a great and varied community!
I was murderin' Pirates this mornin' to steal their stuff, and that got me thinkin'...
Doesn't that make me a Pirate? There was only one thing to do...
Watch a Professor Cynical video!
I heard about "Unicorn" Players... People who never use a glitch or an exploit.
Yeah, probably just a myth.
You forgot the freighter dwelling space tycoons like myself, we want to make as much money as possible with as many methods as we can think of (a stasis device farm will be my next project I think) I obsess over the fun trinkets I pick up on my travels and am constantly managing my fleet.
You forgot about farmers, explorers, extreme-glitchers (not duplicators), PvE (includes pirates, as a niche) etc. This game offers some opportunities for everyone. And, by the way, ship-hunters are just hunters (looking for multitools, ships, frigates and freighters), as they don’t look exclusively only for ships if the chance arises.
I must of missed something I am all those players…. I’ve adapted learned a lot… I do usually hang out in front but not to get anything I like to pass it forward…. Love NMS
I think I'm a perpetual noob; I keep restarting my save after a break. I like the feeling of progressing from nothing in survival. 4.0 is quite the challenge now! You can't just run away from every space battle, and direct damage breaks tech. I love it!
It’s amazing how the same game for everyone gives a completely different s experience to each person based on what they want to do in the universe.
Didn't find one the is like me... except maybe the noob.
I have been flying about trying to do one thing and constantly getting sucked into another.
I spent a day just scanning a solar system... 5 planets, as much flora and minerals and all the fauna.
I wanted the fat nanite bonuses because I dont know an easier way.
But while doing that I got exosuit upgrade drop pods, found relic sites, unearthed ancient ruins, hoarded small piles of seemingly rare minerals.... I even fought and setinal or two.
Learned a bunch of alien words, upgrades my solar ship from c class to b class by accident. (Didnt realise the cost was 10k NANITES. That hurt me a bit, but whats done is done)
Only group left out were the fauna/planet/multi-tool hunters, but other than that a great list!!
Literally got the game yesterday
Last group is actually the hackers that have complete mastery of the save editor and do all kinds of stuff. They can even publish bases on top of other bases, mod stats to absurd levels, and unban themselves by using multiple fam-shared accounts!
I always donate a bunch of special stuff to the n00bs, like IA valves, to help them to start their careers.
Sometimes void egg.
Eyyy, ship hunters
Don't forget the underground pvp group i like to call Murderers.
The type of people that make hardcore characters and hunt all other hardcores that have left their pvp on by mistake (it's on by default) killing peoples progress... they must be stopped.
you forgot the modders. the ones who play just for building new mods.
I’ll include it in the part 2 video to this
Im currently building an Empire with my friend. We even have a Throne World with a Senate, Embassy and Ancient Portal Base
I'd have added Tycoons (moneymakers) and Farmers
Oh you missed me…playing for a few weeks the fuck out of NMS, leave suddenly, because a new game came out, vetoing bored with the new game and jumping back to NMS - rinse and repeat 😅
That role play brooooo hahahaahahahaha good 👍🏻 lol
Probably could of included multi tool and fauna hunters in your ship hunters group as that's what I basically am these days with a touch of builder thrown in but agree with your list otherwise .
When the explorers are not mentioned 😢
Suppose I fall into the group "Innovator".
I like to look for things to do in game, that I haven't seen done before.
That doesn't mean it hasn't been done before, just I havent seen it.
Or it is not often done.
Building in a space station is my latest self challenge.
as a afker(begger) i feel attacked XD
Planet hunters!
10th :(
You’re losing your edge
@@ProfessorCynical I was sleeping lol
@@Cornbread2100 sleep is for the weak 😂
Bit of a ship hunter myself. Nice vid.
i am new to the game i just started playing this month on Nintendo switch so there is no other players u can only upload your bases but that is ok with me because i like to play my games solo 😊
i am a Cronus i look like a frog 😅
