- Spider-Man might be my favourite superheroes of all time, but he's absolutely been suffering for years now when it comes to comics. Ever since One More Day, he's been stuck in a groundhog day loop by nostalgic writers who are deathly afraid of having him grow and mature.
In an age where Batman and Superman have been dads for years, Marvel (and Zeb Wells in particular) really love to write him as a dumbass high schooler. Even though if they wanted to write comics about a young Spider-Man who isn't tied down... Miles is right there.

Spider-Man and MJ weren’t broken up for some cheap click baity drama. They were broken up, because they have to be broken up, because Spider-Man is supposed to be single.
No he’s not. Noticed peak spider-man comics were in the 80’s and early 90’s . . . when he was married.
Zeb Wells breaking up Spider-Man and MJ in the very first issue of his run, after Nick Spencer spent so long in his run trying to put them back together as a couple isn’t controversial at all and it isn’t a problem, because he did the right thing breaking them up.
