That 5.0 sounds like a beast in this truck, I can only imagine what it would sound like with a dual exhaust
just ordered my 2020 f150 lariat from factory .. I was originally going to get the 3.5L ecoboost but I actually switched it up to the 5.0L .. I took both out for a spin and just loved the feel and sound of the V8! nothing against the ecoboost and they are fast too, but it’s all personal preference and to me the V8 just makes the truck pure awesome

Great Video! I am a self proclaimed F-!50 "Addict" 20 Yrs. of buying them, Ford Amazes me Every new year. There is No competition when comparing the F- Series to any/all competitors. Chevy trucks will always rattle & 40k, the F-150 @ 100,000 miles still drives like a brand new truck. I see you have (1) thumbs down, Obviously a chevy truck guy. Join The F-150 Nation bro..

Had two new fords,both were JUNK! My F-150 was in the shop 3 times before it had 20 k on it. FORD'S SUCK!!!!
No competition? Were have you been ? 2019 dodge ram won truck of the year for a reason . Fords have ALOT of issues I belive you that you've had good luck with yours but they are still not the best and that does not help all the other f150 owners having issues they are too light and need to be in 4x4 for everything even rain so they dont hydroplane. Fords on icy roads are lovly to they like to come sideways it's a free thrill . Dodge beats ford in EVERY aspect it's actually proven even in fuel mileage with putting out more hp and now they have the most hp in there diesel engine 1000 ft lbs torque stock . The ford has more pickup speed ( not high end ) ram still owns the f150 top end . but that's because of the light weight from the " military grade aluminum that you can tear apart by hand " . Stock engine to stock engine the ram has more raw hp than any of its competitors and has all kinds of room for improvement with mods were the Ford EcoBoost is already running extremely hard to achieve less hp not to mention it sounds like a sewing machine on steroids and runs high rpm all the time so it's very annoying and loud. Sorry to ruin your day but I'm only going by the proven facts ... not trying to be a know it all but know your facts before you go on UA-cam pretending to know what your talking about when your just a typical ford owner that puts a blind eye to what's real . Go test drive a new 2019 ram sport with 22inch rims and let me know how great your ford is.

I have the 2018 sport with the Coyote engine and it is a beast.
Just for fun raced my friend who just bought a Ram 1500 with the 5.7 and I destroyed him.
I will say that his interior was extremely nice but knowing all the problems that Dodge has had in the past i wasn't going to take a chance of buying a lemon

Even tho the ecoboost has a lot of power, nothing beats the sound and rumble of a naturally aspirated V8

I’ve driven both the ecoboost and the lariat v8 2018 models, the ecoboost is definitely faster. But the rumble of the v8 can’t be beat.

It’s not that big of a difference the eco boost goes 0-60 in 5.65 and the 5.0 goes 5.72 but that’s with both trucks fitted with the 3.55 rear ratio and not the 3.31 that most trucks come with
It has no low end torque, and that’s what you need in a truck. Good engine to go for ice cream tho
All you get from the 8 is the sound the EcoBoost outperforms in every other way horsepower torque towing
And let's not forget the dependability of the faithful 5.0 vs the 6 cylinder. That's why I bought one W 5.0

I just got a 2018 XLT sport with the 2.7 EcoBoost and I love mine to yeah the v8 is awesome two but when it comes to torque the EcoBoost is the same as the big v8 with lower rpm but beautiful truck bud

Boss Man the 2nd gen 3.5 EB is awesome. I just drove it in the 2018 Expedition (video coming soon) but haven’t tested it in the F-150 yet. How do you like the 10-speed?
The Test Drive it's great and very smooth, I don't really feel the shifting unless I'm having a bit of fun with it in sport mode. I also like how it will skip gears depending on how u accelerate.
Boss Man same, I was worried it would be constantly shifting but it actually holds gears appropriately based on what you’re trying to do and the driving mode you’re in. And I really like cruising at 75+mph and running only 1,300 rpms!

A center console is standard, 6 seat is optional if I remember correctly.

That flip up seat is what all trucks should have an option for.
I just drove a 3.5 ecoboost for two days moving stuff into storage. From what I read the 2.7 has less lag, which baffles me.
It has quite a bit of turbo lag. I drive a 2013 wrx and this thing has almost as much.
Literally floor it off the line, the truck will accelerate to 10mph and then the turbos will light and spin the rear tires. It’s pretty quick and has a ton of midrange power. But it also has poor turbo response at the low end.
Once you’re moving it’s not a problem because it will downshift quickly and the auto does a great job of keeping boost up,
Firestarter 2.7 is a beast I’ve got 30k on mine now

when you put on night mode on the infotainment system does it stay like that till you turn it off? or do you gotta switch it back on when you start the vehicle?

I would be surprised if it did not have remote start that is standard now.
Powerstroke 6.7 so remote start is included with the 501A package ($2,000 and also gets you BLIS and a few other things) but this truck only had the 500A package. Most Lariats you’ll see at the dealer probably have the 501A package.

5.0 is nice...But the 2.7 EcoBoost walks the 5.0

david czapla well we dont buy trucks for speed. We buy em to primarily pull things, sit up high, and hear it roar! The V6 maybe a speedy but its not blowing the doors off the v8 and its definitely faaar inferior in sound and pullin power

MrInzombia correct me if I’m wrong, but the 3.5 out pulls the 5.0, and the 2.7 is damn close to it. Sure, the 5.0 sounds cool, but that’s all it has over the EcoBeasts.
The RPM's in the 9th and 10th gear would mean more if you can say which axle ratio this truck has: 3.31, 3.55, or 3.73?

It’s the same car engine, that’s why it doesn’t make any power till over 3500 rpm, eco has all 400 ft lb of torque coming in at 2750 rpm, made for pulling
LOLOLOL I love hearing the BS about linear power and how it "COYOTE" pulls compared to the EcoBoost. I hate to break it to you but Ford has Engineered the same basic pull however stronger in the EB. You need to drive one and be truthful about it. The Rumble of the V8 is deceiving like the beautiful looks and allure of a WOMAN! Please give the Eco-Boost the props it deserves or design a test that scientifically explains both engines!. Then crown a winner!

Nope, EB is crap! Got rid of my F150 with EB because Ford wouldn't fix the timing chain stretch issue. 5.0 all the way. May not pull as much but is going to last you a lot longer.

So you got rid of the EB and bought a 5.0 that burns oil and ford can’t figure out what the internal clacking noise it is making. Good choice buddy, you’ll be looking for another truck soon, that v8 won’t last

Luis Crespo yeah I love the F-150 but the small bed in this one isn’t going to fit much other than a snow blower. I guess if you don’t plan on hauling anything and just want a truck for the looks and potentially off-road capability then this would be just fine.
Depends on what you do with it. I’m a sales rep and sometimes carry a pallet of material up to 1800 lbs but most the time carrying a bunch of samples and marketing material to meetings and have to maneuver and park in small spots in downtown LA so for me the 5ft bed works great. Plus with plenty of room to have customers sit in the back seat with a crew cab when I have to take a 2 or 3 of my customers out to lunch. Probably just one of many examples of why people go with the 5 ft.
Because they carry people more times than they carry cargo, or they need to tow 6000-7000 pounds and have little need for cargo (like me). It's really very simple.
You probably forgot that trucks tow trailers too, don’t need a long bed for that

Except you can’t get leather in an XLT. This was a VERY basic Lariat with absolutely no options. I was surprised!
Leather seats = Lariat or higher.
apparently no one else noticed but in some footage the console screen is all black (which I like) and later in the video its white and blue. What makes it change?
Mike Jones it’s based on the time of day and works in conjunction with the automatic headlights. When the car perceives “night time” the screen background changes to black. When it perceives “day time” it’s white. Helps to make it easier on your eyes.
And you can choose which one you want whenever but the day (white) screen is blinding at night lol. Both settings have dimming features though.

I hear they have “confirmed” a 7.0L Raptor (after previously hearing the rumors were false) so I am thinking Ford wants to keep the V8s around. If I was buying an F-150 I’d get a V8 as well.

If u want old school and want power and sound v8 for a good lasting engine that’s way to go u want good gas mileage and quiteness like a tesla then EcoBoost is way to go u decide but U won’t know if u got good trubos or not that will last or cost u a pretty penny to change later after a good 100000 mileage
