I've owned a 3.5 ecoboost for the past 3 years and it also sounds awesome when you floor it. You can hear the turbos wind up and it sounds like a diesel Cummins. The v8 sounds great and so does the ecoboost. Go sit in One and you'll see what I mean.

John I agree there to, I like the column shifter as well, I don’t really want to think I’m in a sedan. I’m new to the ford world but I’ve heard and done a lot of research. The V6’s are decent on gas, and great for daily driving but if you are towing and want it to last with no issues, I’d go with the 5.0. Just because it’s been around for a while and they essentially have that engine mastered.
You asked why anyone would want a light-colored cloth interior.....I'll tell you why. It is because a dark interior shows every speck of dust and in a 100 degree day a dark interior soaks up the Sun and burns. Light color Interiors reflect the heat and doesn't show dirt hardly as much. It is also far prettier. I have a 2013 F-150 XLT with the taupe interior in cloth and it still looks brand-new to this day.
Recently got a 2017 F-150 XLT supercab 4x2 with 5.0... the sound is great when accelerating, and with only 4050 LBS curb weight, the 5.0 makes it *move.* I would bet the 0 to 60 is sub 6 seconds. No 'XTR', "FX4' or ' Sport' graphics, just a sleeper. After 2,600 miles, the average city / highway MPG is 19.9 ... awesome for a full size V8 pickup with close to 400 HP.
that's insane how Ford F-150 has freaking 10 speed transmission. I hope that transmission control module is calibrated in a way to adjust instantaneously to different road conditions. A simple example could be like a hill, an automatic transmission worst enemy when it comes to hunting for Gears.

If you want a truck that's affordable the STX usually is the best choice. Ive owned two. Just bought a 2017 5.0 4x4 STX. It's great in the winter. We're about to have our third snow storm. I towed a trailer while we were moving and you could barely tell it was back there. Great truck. Ram 1500 had less space and cost more in the model comparable to F150 Supercrew.
Love this truck and the 5.0 sound only reason I didn't get it is because now that I've driven an ecoboost, i prefer the way it feels. Don't get why people are always going back and fourth with this shit I respect both

Thanks for the video. I love the way that 5.0L V8 sounds. Truly awesome. I am looking to purchase one in a few years. A 5.0L V8. I don't care about the Ecoboost stuff, and on the towing front, the only thing I will use that truck for towing wise will be my 3700 lbs Fusion Hybrid. That's it. Other then that, I'll just be enjoying driving that truck around hearing the motor.

I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra Platinum now but, Still like the Ford F150. A good truck to own and drive. Good V8 and just nice to have a drive. I love my tundra, don't get me wrong but just giving my thoughts.
Every bad review I hear of on these trucks are all issues with the V6 and Ecoboost. Ill take the 5.0 V8 and less torque and less fuel milage over a junk V6 any day!
@@daytonaubichon4110 Where'd you hear that from? A Chevy dealer? Totally not true. My Ecoboost is seven years old. I two with it and drive the Hell out of it. Never had a problem It idles so smooth I have to look at the tach to know it's running. The 3.5 Ecoboost was torture tested like no other engine and it passed with flying colors.
@@metaltera86 Sorry, but that's not even remotely close. Do you own one and drive it daily? I have for quite a while now. After owning many V8s I'm still blown away at how effortless the Ecoboost tows. I'm even more blown away with the fuel economy, especially when towing. The power curve is not like a V8 at all which makes for a totally different driving experience. I'll never buy a V8 again. The only advantage the 5.0 has is the sound which this guy can't seem to get over. Big deal. When you make a long road trip with the family they certainly don't want to hear that V8 noise all day. Ecoboost is the future.
Sorry to say your wrong but my 2015 3.5 liter v6 ecoboost has 369hp and 420lbs torque. Goes 60 in 5.6 seconds. And it does all that while getting almost 20 miles per gallon. v8 is louder but my ecoboost has the v8 power without all the noise.
That is the engine of choice too so far. But the news of a new 4.8 V8 is hitting the net. Maybe Ford will make some announcement at the Detroit Auto Show. That will interesting to see what's up with that!!
Oh and one thing I'm also wondering which package has the led headlights and the regular halogen taillights? I don't really like the led tail lights cause the reverse lights are so small they don't look like you can see them very well when it's in reverse. So what I'd do is get the one with the led headlights and halogen taillights and put led lightbulbs in the lenses.
I do wonder a few things like isn't staying in a single gear for a long period of time hard if not bad on the transmission? Also what benefit does it staying in a single gear longer do for you?
It's just me I think that v8 should be making upward of about 480hp and say 550 pound feet if torque or 510 hp and 560 to 570 pound feet of torque and they should make the infotainment screen bigger like 8 to 12 inches
Love your videos huge fan. Just subscribed should have been sooner. I wanted to ask a question and hopefully you can help instead of me paying mechanic's to figure it out. I just did a full tune up on my 2010 Raptor 5.4L. But there is still this little sounds when I rev the throttle. Sounds like a clicking sound. But only happens when I hit the throttle. I was thinking it could be the coils or plugs but I replaced all of that. Do you think it could be the cams?
Ok so we all know that the 3.5 ecoboost is more powerful and fuel efficient compared to the 5.0, but is it more reliable if not as reliable as the 5.0 naturally asperated v8?
Mike Herrington I'm buying it after thanksgiving. Trust me I've driven all 3. The rams too basic, but fast. The Silverado is nice, but lacks features and still feels a bit cheap, the f150 feels more rugged and raw even till 2016 while the others feel soft. The wheel feels so good to grip, and yet comfortable to sit in. Honestly it's right up there with my moms 2015 Lexus rx350 just translated into men's luxury. haha
invisible taco here's my story, I graduated college In June of 2016, when I graduated I was guaranteed a job with a school district I did my student teaching at and now I'm a Math Teacher making 52k a year. I have a Ranger (that I've had since I was 17). I am looking to purchase a new truck.
Mike Herrington Its really nice, trust me its basically ford taking the last gen f-150 and actually adding the amenities that you would actually have a use for. Its pretty much the first truck or vehicle for that matter where it autmatically climate adjusts upon start up and has rear heated seats. Might not be an audi, but for sure it beats the price of one.... for what you get.
I have a 15' 5.0L. I have my name down for a 17' 3.5 going to go back to the ecoboost, not that I didn't like the 5.0 it just doesn't pull my trailer as well as my ecoboost did. Quick question I noticed you had a physical key and not a fob is this a change In The 17's or just something that depends on trim level.
Ben Mccoll i have a 2016 xlt 4x4 that is now 5 months old. It's a fob with flip key, that's what he has in the video. I cant speak for the lariat or platinum.
As someone who owned a 3.5 EB and now owns a 2015 5.0..There IS a replacement for displacement..it's called a turbo (wonderful magical things) if you're doubtful, do a test drive in both trucks while pulling an 11000lb 5th wheel, n/a v8 power can't hold a candle to turbo power. "No replacement for displacement" is a silly, outdated statement that makes me laugh every time.
+Jason Martinez Pow, you do realize I am comparing stock trucks, right? Why would I buy a $40000 truck and spend another 10K on turbos, tuning, billet oil pump gears and all that horseshit when I can buy a factory truck with everything already there? Not to mention a warranty?? Some little dumbass always makes this argument, but how many turbo 5.0s have you seen running around? ZERO. Try thinking before you speak.
Let's just say HYPOTHETICALLY I'm driving my F150 with the 5.0 and I don't fully stop at a stop sign. If this has HYPOTHETICALLY happened to anyone else do you ever get a weird lag like the tranny is in neutral and then catches? A roundabout would be another example. Would this be a bad thing or would this be normal?

That is the engine of choice too so far. But the news of a new 4.8 V8 is hitting the net. Maybe Ford will make some announcement at the Detroit Auto Show. That will interesting to see what's up with that!!
Take the 5.0 and supercharge it! then install it in the new Raptor
I like the F-150 but I wish they would get rid of the center console shifter on some models!! So weird on a truck
The JSB agreed. Even on other vehicles, a column shifter feels more natural.
A thought truck with the heart of a mustang !!!
dam very strong engine...remindes me of the 2007 escape v6 200 hp if u stomp on the gas
Excellent., I'm looking at going back to Ford products & perhaps a pickup truck -- had an older Expedition EB. awhile back, and an '08 Tahoe.
Awsome onboard 👍
Oh and one thing I'm also wondering which package has the led headlights and the regular halogen taillights? I don't really like the led tail lights cause the reverse lights are so small they don't look like you can see them very well when it's in reverse. So what I'd do is get the one with the led headlights and halogen taillights and put led lightbulbs in the lenses.
I do wonder a few things like isn't staying in a single gear for a long period of time hard if not bad on the transmission? Also what benefit does it staying in a single gear longer do for you?
the blue hands on the gauges make me think the brights are on. takes some getting use to.
2:05 Is that foreshadowing a review of the Ford Explorer police officer edition?
I like this vid, nice engine in this truck !
Such great trucks!
It's just me I think that v8 should be making upward of about 480hp and say 550 pound feet if torque or 510 hp and 560 to 570 pound feet of torque and they should make the infotainment screen bigger like 8 to 12 inches
I'm miss my 15' f150 5.0 :( ... was a fun truck!
Will ford ever change their transmission and put on the wheel like chevys ?
+AutoVlog Mike you should get a 2018 F150 XLT 302A Package Full 4 Door Crew Cab for your next Truck get a white truck
2.7 EcoBoost beats the 5.0 in every way. It doesn't sound the same. Enjoy the sound.
I would love light cloth in my truck. Great video. Road noise? Didn`t hardly hear it.
that's one good-looking truck good job for
Quite yes, without exhaust! Most people like exhausts
Will the 2018 F150 V8 have the 10 speed?
The V8 engine, other than the sound, is there any other advantage over the V6 ecoboost?
Arthur Ramalho ya. you wont have to replace $3000 turbos. get the 5L if you are keeping it for awhile.
Easy to work on compared to eco boost
Arthur Ramalho HP
Arthur Ramalho 385HP compared to 375HP
I've a 2015 XL with the center console.
Ok so we all know that the 3.5 ecoboost is more powerful and fuel efficient compared to the 5.0, but is it more reliable if not as reliable as the 5.0 naturally asperated v8?
Every time he stomps on the gas, the gas needle moves, lol.
Exactly the same as an EB.
And so does the rings and bearings wearing out much / much faster not breaking the new tight engine the correct way. 10 - 4 over....
Would you recommend me purchase one? I drive a Ranger and I don't know if I should buy a new F150. I love the F150!!
I have seen some videos where the gear stick is behind the steering wheel. In what trim levels you can find that?
Muffler delete sounds amazing on that truck
I have a 2015 lariat and I wish my steering wheel was black out like that. not really a fan of the brushed look
these trucks are getting prettier and prettier. this has got to be the prettiest truck I have ever seen.
EVERY VIDEO YOU WATCH, SPREAD IT!
#PIZZAGATE
should get the leather Recaro seats in the sport as a standard.
I'll come see you when my lease is up
I have a 15' 5.0L.
Thanks, I figured it out. Push button start is an option. Mines a lariat so I have the key fob without a physical key.
I have a key inside my fob to open my new painted tonneau cover...2016 f-150 limited
I Love my 2017 sport package FX4 5.0
Nice truck but I still want a 5 speed manual trans. I know ford doesn't offer a manual trans. but I still want one.
Black looks cool but how hot are the seats in the summer?
Good thing it has AC seats
Compared to ram and Sierra is this more comfortable?
do you not get the 10 speed with the 5.0?
As someone who owned a 3.5 EB and now owns a 2015 5.0..There IS a replacement for displacement..it's called a turbo (wonderful magical things) if you're doubtful, do a test drive in both trucks while pulling an 11000lb 5th wheel, n/a v8 power can't hold a candle to turbo power. "No replacement for displacement" is a silly, outdated statement that makes me laugh every time.
unless you turbo the V8 Pow Mind blown i know
+Jason Martinez Pow, you do realize I am comparing stock trucks, right? Why would I buy a $40000 truck and spend another 10K on turbos, tuning, billet oil pump gears and all that horseshit when I can buy a factory truck with everything already there? Not to mention a warranty?? Some little dumbass always makes this argument, but how many turbo 5.0s have you seen running around? ZERO. Try thinking before you speak.
lol well you told me there keyboard hero
+Jason Martinez Can you say "who's yo daddy?"
Fordfanone yes there is. The v8 can be turboed or blown, not to mention you can't replace a v8 sound ever!
can you please do the POV of the regular focus
I would buy the naturally aspirated v8 over the more power turbo charged v 6, more reliable, no lag
Why is your gas gage at E???!!!???
