Great overview! Wish I got the Xbay over the H, but, am on a budget- I'll make the best of it! Hope they fixed the issues with the trailers. Looks like great big buck country around you!
This was a fantastic review! Thank you! But man, I have some questions for you: 1. Do you think this boat is going to hold up for the duration-all seams seem strong and it can handle the beating of 1-3 you find inshore and nearshore fishing? 2. Would you recommend just picking through the boat and locktighting every screw before you even start? 3. Is that new trailer still holding up or have there been any more concerns/issues with quality? I hate trailer work. 4. Would you buy the boat again? Do you like having lounge seat? Is the storage dry storage? I’m sure there is more but I am thinking seriously about moving forward with an xbay23 and want to make sure it’s a good boat that’s going to hold up. I live in Idaho and this place is a long way from the inshore havens of Florida and the east coast where they’re sold.
I guess time will truly tell how it holds up, but I think it’ll do fine. Spent a solid 3 weeks running the ocean since the review and all still good to include the trailer which got a lot of miles. 🤞 Def go through and tighten everything at the start with some loctite. I like the lounge. Pros and cons of course. That’s one of the few truly water tight spots on the boat, but I use it for a fish box. Takes up some space but if I didn’t have it I’d be putting a big cooler on the floor. The ladies also love the lounge. As far as buying again, it depends. Nothing against the boat but I find myself running off shore much more than I thought I would. Something with some taller sides, deeper V would prob do better for that. But I also fish the back water which it’s perfect for. So I guess I need multiple boats🤪. Moderate chop you won’t have any issues. Just put up a video of a rough crossing on the Chesapeake Bay if you want to see how it handles.
@@Thedeerpolice Went ahead and watched the video of the crossing. That wasn't a problem at all! I like the lounge but not sure I need it yet. We do a lot of backcountry camping in the big reservoirs out here and that lounge would take up a lot of space if I have to haul my wall tent 15-20 miles. As far as people capicity, the boat doesn't appear to lack space. It truly seems large in the video. I noticed you put a t-top on it. Is it mounted to the console? I had a dealer tell that he wouldn't recommend any bolting to the console bc it would crack the CC due to the torque. I figure if you screw 4 legs into the floor then it wouldn't matter. I'd like to eventually install one if that is possible. We do a lot of slow trolling for salmon and steelhead in the big rivers out here. I think I would have to consider putting a 9.9 kicker on the boat at some point. You think it could be outfitted with one on the bow--think walleye boat style? Great cobe BTW!
I have a 2019 X23B. I love the boat…… but the trailer is a different story. It seems like every trip I have a new weld that breaks. I contacted Xpress and they told me since it was over a year old that they would do nothing for me. So with that being said, I will never buy another Xpress boat again. They no they have a problem with their trailers and they don’t stand behind their product.
@@Thedeerpolice yeah I definitely agree with you. But if I’m going to have to spend money on a new trailer, I’m going to spend the extra money on a Coastline
It’s a garmin marine gps. Has a SOS/PLB button on it. I can also text people via satellite for when I’m out of cell/radio range. Bunch of nice safety features and floats just in case.
What states and why? New ones I put on are far more visible and brighter than factory ones. In the process of getting USCG capt lic and saw nothing in the lighted section that suggest they don’t meet regulations.
I have had nothing but problems with my trailer. Had to buy 4 new tires and rims to feel safe on longer trips. The tires suck, have had the belts go bad on two tires!!!! I have had to buy 2 new tires that match the trailer,.
That sucks. I’ve heard they were putting “budget” tires on some of their trailers that weren’t meant for long road trips. They really need to step up their game with the trailers.

Hats off to Power-Pole.

What is storage height on the trailer with that top

Man that sucks. Sorry to hear. They redesigned the trailers and seem to be better but they should still take care of a known problem for sure.

Is the red and black item located above the battery compartment a handheld radio? What brand did you go with? Thanks Dave

What is that white piece at the back of your boat that makes an "L" on the bunk board?
No clue from reading this. Will look tomorrow and try to figure out what piece you’re talking about.
Those Navigating lights won’t pass in some states!
