- This video explains what custom controls are, shows some examples of how you can use them, and then shows you how practically to do just that. Also, all the graphics for this video were created with nodes in the Fusion Tab in DaVinci resolve, and Custom Controls practically used.

I have tried scripting in DaVinci Resolve a few times, and found it good but also found there's definitely a lack of resources on it out there, so maybe I should make a few videos on it in the future 😀?

Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, I could definitely do something more on this. My video coming out next Wednesday is an example of some of the further experimentation I have been doing with expressions. As I have experience with programming, this is something I'm finding interesting and am going to be pursuing further hopefully with a few videos too 😀

Could this or something like it be used to make custom effects, where you could control settings straight from the edit view without entering fusion? I think that would be really useful to speed up editing for projects that need the same thing over and over again.

Everytime i see that much nodes i get panic attacks 😭😭
😂 The node tree in that video is simpler than it looks with a lot of repetition. Because there are 10 elements on the screen, each different, there are 10 copies in the node tree making it look much bigger and more complex than it is. Good luck to you on your journey of overcoming the fear.
