Hi Ellen, I’m so glad you’re still going to stay on with soaping. I’ve never replied to any of your videos, but I have to tell you that you are my favorite. I’ve been watching for about a year and your tops on my list. Take care.
Hey Ellen! I just watched this, and I heard you say you have a deodorant recipe coming?!?!?! So stinking excited. I have made multiple deodorants and have yet to find one that works well for me, so I'm excited to see what your recipe is! Thank you again for all your videos! I always look forward to seeing them. You do a great job of making us feel like we are right there with you, which is always fun!
My tired self just read that as buttermilk and cats 😂 I need some sleep but have been watching your videos for the last 5 hours while I prepare product for our state fair.
I am in love with that wine bottle! Such a clever theme inspiration! Thanks so much for sharing! Even though I love soaping, it is such a wonderful switchup to watch you make Bath Salts. Cheers & Blessings 💕🌹
Ellen..what a lovely gift and that wine bottle is beautiful! You are right,,bath salts are always so much fun to make cause you can change it up. Thanks so much for your video and have a great day! ~ Michele
Hi from Canada 👋🏿. TFS, beauty labels they go very nicely with ur bath mix, good job. i will be making a personal batch for myself, winter is around the corner. nothing like a nice hot bath on a winter's day brrr.
I made this today for the girls in my family, also made your lip balm, calamine/ charcoal soap, Oak and Whiskey beard balm for the guys!! Learned lots from you this year ER!! Thankyou and Merry Christmas!!
I just found a similar bottle at my local grocery! I snatched it up! :Not the same brand; because of the top! I found it the it the night after I saw this video!! Lol!
I love butterfly pea flowers and use them for facial serums. You can get a beautiful blue to pink or even purple depending on the ph. Anyhow the salts are amazing and that wine bottle is stunning, omg. Ellen for years I refused to wrap my products. Lesson learned the hard way. Don’t even want to remember. It’s a must!
@@EllenRuthSoap ur very welcome! I told my daughter when she came today I was sending her your recipe! I told her it was full of nourishing milk, oats and wonderful salts!! if anyone doesn't know (which I know u do) centuries ago milk baths was a luxury and people pay lots of money today! nature has so much to offer with endless possibilities! hope things are going well for u & yours... 😍
This is a very nice video, ive been thinking about adding a scented salt bath and you gave me the inspiration to do it lol, thank you Ellen for the video ❤❤😊😊!!
I just have to say Ellen you are so beautiful and have beautiful skin! I ljust found your channel today because I have been making my own sugar scrub and I have been watching all day.
I'm commenting again because I wanted to come back to your video for making bath salts ever since I found how much I love using bath bombs. I make handmade cold processed soap but wanted to try my hand at this bath product. My question is, how specific do our ingredients in this need to be measured compared to cold processed soap? Since I've been on my venture to mix different salts and essential oils for single bath times, I've not measured and have used what feels good to me but I'm kind of afraid of messing up my skin now that I've rewatched your tutorial. I also want to add colloidal oats and maybe some kaolin clay which I learned from in my soap from your channel. Thank you so very much Ms Ellen for always being so willing to share your techniques. I've purchased your soap bars in the past because I want to support your channel so I thank you again for any feedback you can offer. I'm sorry this is so long.
One of the lovely things about bath salts is they are so flexible, you can customize it in so many ways. I just like to keep the mixed salts as the main bulk of it, and have the additves be a smaller portion of the total. You really can't go wrong, especially when it's going into a tub full of water and being diluted that much..
Doing bath salts sounds so interesting. I know there is a soap calculator determining ratios when you make cold process soap, but I'm curious if there's a calculator when doing other things like salts, Bath bombs, etc.?
From what I understand the manufacturer of the fragrance oils and essential oils gives you information on each oil and what they can be used in and the amount.
Just an FYI, if you have a shrink band too big make it smaller by using a manual sealer, like you’d use for shrink wrap bags on soap, then it would if on smaller products and you’d still have the other perforated side 🤷🏼♂😅
I use to buy new wine/alcohol if I liked the bottle...found some really good stuff!! Hubby is now sober for a little over two years, so don't buy stuff like I use too. lol I love all your stuff!! Can you switch the buttermilk for Goats Milk? I can't wait to try this!! Thanks @EllenRuthSoap ❤❤❤
How beautiful is this!!! I love your channel! As an RMT, I love to incorporate bath products into my clinic - my clients love taking something like this home after I recommend it. I see you use lots of fragrance oils...do you use EO's at all? I have found when I use fragrance oils, they are very strong if I go by some recipe's I have found, so I mostly use small ratio's of EO's instead.
Love your videos! A few seconds of your personality is what got me to stay and eventually subscribe. You’re so down to earth and just real. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful creations. May God bless you abundantly! Regarding this recipe, I have everything but the milk powder. Can I make it without it? If so, would I add more colloidal oats to make up for it? How would altering the recipe impact the fragrance ratio? Thank you so much!
I just bought my first essential oils to make bath salts for family and friend's gifts and it says to use carrier oil. Is my skin going to fall off if I don't use a carrier oil? LOL!
Wow! Can't wait to try this bath :) Thank's for sharing this!!!! If I don't use a little bag, what is the quantity that I should add to my bath? 1/2 cup? Thank's
This looks beautiful! My biggest hesitation in making bath salts is that they absorb moisture. Do you ever find the need to use Natrasorb? Or is the dendritic salt enough?
Hello, lovely video! Does anyone happen to know what we in Europe can use instead of dendritic salt? As far as I know we don’t get it here. Thanks in advance 😊
Bought all ingredients and bottles but I can't get Dendritic salt 'til Dec 15-Jan 6th! I need it for my Christmas soap etc gifts. Is there a substitute that would work? Thankyou Ellen!!
Regarding baking soda, it is irritating to your skin when it's in contact with skin in higher concentrations in things like a deodorant, but in a bath there is so much water to dilute the baking soda it'd be unlikely to cause irritation.
Hi Ellen, I recently wernt to your werbsite and it shows no products to purchase... are you strictly now into teaching soapmaking or will you be back again doing markets and selling on your website? Thanks!

Maybe you could use shrink wrap gift bags or roll for the time you need an odd sized seal. You could cut it to size and heat it.

Because there's no chemical reaction or process to bath salts, it's pretty flexible on ratios...🛁

I love this receipe. Could you sub goats milk powder for butter milk powder?
Yes, absolutely💕
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you.
Hi Ellen, I LOVE your videos! I'm making bath salts and wondered if you use the Vitamin E Oil in your bath salts?
I don't in a narrow mouth bottle because it may not come out easily. But in a jar it would be nice.
I just bought my first essential oils to make bath salts for family and friend's gifts and it says to use carrier oil. Is my skin going to fall off if I don't use a carrier oil? LOL!

Hello, lovely video! Does anyone happen to know what we in Europe can use instead of dendritic salt? As far as I know we don’t get it here. Thanks in advance 😊
A fine grind quality Sea Salt can be used as a sub.

A super fine grind salt would work as a good sub.
Hello Ellen. I have a question. If polysorbate 80 is not used, would the fragrance oil sit on the surface of the water?
Yes, that is a possibility. But it's such a small amount, I don't think it would float around too much..
I watched a video of yours tonight on bath salts and you used polysorbate 80. Is there a reason why it's not in this one?
This formula has less liquid ingredients 😉
@@EllenRuthSoap Thank you!
What is the wine please. I want to try. I love wine. Thank you for you.
This is the one, but the bottle looks a bit different now: Gérard Bertrand Cote Des Roses
Is rhere another option for dendritic salt?
Any fine grind salt will do👍
If using a surfactants, how much do you use.
I use the poly 80 as an emulsifier...
does this recipe leave oily residue around the tub?
Not if you use the poly 80👍
Could I substitute the buttermilk powder for goat milk powder? Thank you for this recipe!
Yes you can!👍🛁
Thank you so much for your response.@@EllenRuthSoap
Beautiful! How much of salts do you think is gonna give a great bath?
It's a personal choice, but I like to put 1/2-1 C per bath personally🛁
@@EllenRuthSoap thanks
Could you add mica for color?
Yes, as long as it's designated skin safe👍
Can I use essential oils instead of fragrance oil. How much ml EO sud I add
Yes you can, essential oils can have different usage rates, so look up the one you're using.
@@EllenRuthSoap thankyou

What if you cut the plastic seal in half for the wine bottle..
Regarding baking soda, it is irritating to your skin when it's in contact with skin in higher concentrations in things like a deodorant, but in a bath there is so much water to dilute the baking soda it'd be unlikely to cause irritation.

Are you concerned about the toxins found in oats? I stopped making and pulled all my honey oat soap because of it.
No, it's not a concern of mine... But this would be great without oats in it too🛁

those tiny scent samples are $15USD, which is insanely expensive.
