Thanks for showing and explaining what happens to the fire when the power goes out. We easily forget the amount of electricity that is needed to run a pellet stove. Very informative video.

They are out of stock on that generator can you tell me how much is the average cost of it or can you recommend one similar thank you so much

I think around 2k depending what you get, the new tactical option is probably better than the normal Flex. The company sent out an email last week saying they will be back in stock shortly. They have a $1.8 million military contract they had to full fill which temporarily put them out of stock.

4.8 Amp draw at start up. 2.8 Amps running. Not a big draw.

How do you feel about pellet stove vs wood stove ? Clearly you have a pellet stove but I’m trying to decide which to go with

thats a $7k pellet stove . I would never buy a pellet stove for my own house. since its useless if the power goes out. you should think of a pellet stove as an electric stove that also requires you to buy pellets. 300 running watts is a lot of juice to be feeding a stove on a constant basis when you add on 40 pounds of burning pellets each night too. pellets stove are great though if you want to freeze to death when the power goes out long term.

    Is your battery backup puresinewave?

I think its a 1500 watt pure sine wave but you would want to email INERGYTEK.com directly and confirm with them to be certain. They also have a DC power option if you don't need the AC conversion. Hope that helps.

Also you can have a unvented propane furnace and CO detector and a couple of 100# propane cylinders out side.

right, ideally you would probably want a wood stove with no electric blower for long term power outage and definitely a carbon monoxide detector or two

I have third form of heat
I have a Kerosene space heater and 100 gallons kerosene no electric required I can isolated my heated space with moving pads covering the doors ways. 2 DIY burkey’s filters. And an unlimited water source.

Is a wood stove a better option? Where can I get that generator?

@ I’m not 100% sure, if you need to boot up a heat source quickly I’d suggest a propane heater with your propane stored in a tank outside. The type that requires no power for a fan.
I have been doing prepping for a long time from helping my father prep for the Cuban missile crisis.
If I’m not specifically planning to bug out I will stock multiple levels of tools for my needs.
So I started with a list of heat sources, Dyna Glo heater w propane fuel stored out side. Came with the retreat, as did the pellet stove. They left me 400# of pellets. I added another 1000# would have to run my solar batterie generator to run its fan. But the heat is worth the cost when you need it. My heavy lifter for heat is a Kerosene space heater. But that 100% electric free. We have an outdoor fire pit, lanterns heaters, and other small heating devices. Cooking can be done with a propane stove or the pellet stove. Then outside the our fire pit can grill meat 🥩, cook soup or boil water 💧. Never plan for a single source for heat.
