I wish i had been older when I met him, I would have appreciated it more and told him how his music helps my faith. So much. Was always the lost one, now trying to just be 1 of the 99, and this..... this heals my soul.
A very nice song, I'm so glad there are people like Micheal who are blessed with talents to refresh and uplift people and do not keep them to themselves. Thank you
Thank you for posting this song. Every time I hear this song, it warms my heart. Especially since it is undoctored and done live, it feels so sincere. I love it. 😊. This is one of the things that I hope stays on the internet forever, for it would be a much sadder place without this gem.
It's been a little while. (I'm the same person, but using a different account.) I still love this song, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. In fact, I sang this song to my ward when I left on my mission, and sang this song to my fellow missionaries in my farewell testimony. It's just beautiful.
i LOVE THIS SONG! I love it with Michael singing it too, because its realistic, its heartfelt and honest. Yeah, he might not have the most beautiful voice, but its his song, and this way you really feel his emotions. I feel like this song was written for me :) LOVE IT!
I love it too! I keep coming back to listen to it again. I agree, I love to hear Michael McLean sing his songs! It’s hard for me to explain why, but I like what you said about it being so heartfelt and honest. It’s like he’s telling a story. The pauses and way he talks really catch my attention and communicate the emotions and message in a different way than singing it straight through.
I can't stand the more official version. This version, the way he songs it, or rather speaks it, is the only way it feels real and meaningful. The poor singing voice really drives home that you can be the average in the ninety and nine, and be the one that is pulled aside. I'm tearing up as I type this because I can't help but tear up at this song.
I have no idea who posted this, but thank you so much!!! I was just remembering a firesite I attended in Kirtland on 2003 when I was a sister Missionary Where I could listen to Michael Mclean explaining the song of the 99. I was looking for that song and I found this material!! I never thought I could see this again since I returned to my country in Santiago of Chile after my mission. Amazing, this took place more than 10 tears ago.
THis is so cool, i like this song. One of our relief society counselors played this in Releif society at church yesterday. when they were introducing the updated Visiting teaching techniques i guess you'd call it.
That is such an epiphany for me, to think of Ministering to my sisters in the way the Savior reaches out to one of the ninety and nine in this song. We all need to feel the Savior’s love this way; to know that we are seen and important to Him and others.
@SuperDuck25 - I think the version you are thinking about is from Michael McLean's Tender Mercies CD. You can buy the song or the entire CD from deseretbook com
The whole point of this parable is that we are all lost and in need of our savior to find us. You have to look at this parable as to whom Jesus was speaking, to understand the true meaning. Don’t get comfortable being the 99. The good shepherd finds his lost sheep and takes it back to his friends and neighbors not to the 99 according to the account written in Luke. Who are the Good Shepherd’s Friends and Neighbors? That’s who I want to be, I want to be a friend with Jesus and not in the 99. It is a very powerful parable.
what cd is this on where Michael McLean sings this? I listened to this song ninty and nine on his tender mercies and a woman sings his song instead. i wanted the song where michael MvcLean sings ninty and nine. can you tell me where i can find this where the said McLean is singing. thank you.
