- This is a longer video to help English learners understand when they should use present perfect tense and when they should use past simple tense.
First, I discuss some basic rules/guidelines for present perfect and past simple, and then I guide you through a worksheet that I used to use in the classroom with my students.
You must be born to become a teacher. Love the way you teach. It’s very easy to understand. Thank you so much!
Thank YOU!
THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD!!
Thank you!
Yes, I think the same way. Mike is the best. 🏆
Unbelievably high-quality instructions. Thank you!
Thanks! 🙏
Thank your for the best explaination. The key moment in choosing tense is the correspondence between two periods of time. Other teachers and textbooks never told me about this.
This is a wonderful lesson. I remember saying he is an amazing teacher, the first time I watched that video.
Thanks, Mike.😊😊

Thank you🙏
Thanks Teacher Mike, this helps me due to i was not sure about the uses of these tenses in context like
i have to use correctly right now, perfect or past?
In that case, you could use either one, and they would just be slightly different.
Thank you
thank you so much ! i apperciate that ❤
شكرا كثيرا
Noticed yesterday past simple
Good morning teacher
Worth it
Yes I have.
Fit time to listening to you the duration is not too long and not too short, i try my best to tenses a bit confusing thought why did you use the word see not The word watch? The word watch it's better i think.😊
Has been working
Hey dear Teacher Mike, I'd write "she has been working" in the 3rd exercise. Would I be wrong? What do you think?
Hi. I'm not able to watch the video right now. Could you tell me what I said and why you think it would be something different?

Thanks teacher Mike.
Can you please send me the pdf you used in this class ?
Hi. I didn't use a pdf. This video is my original content.
Good Morning tr
I was surprised that still is used in negative sentences. Question: should we replace it with continued in positive sentence? EX: She continues living in dormitory. I hope she rents an apartment soon.
No. Using "continues" there sounds strange.
She still lives in the dormitory.✅
@@TeacherMikeEnglish thank you
Teacher Mike I know to use but I still do not understand them
Continue learning. You don't need to understand everything immediately.
Last question: I was watching this movie many times? Why we can’t use past continuous form?
It generally doesn't make sense to say "I was ___ing many times."
We use past continuous to say that one habit or action was continuing non-stop/repeatedly, so adding "many times" is strange.
@@TeacherMikeEnglish thanks. I got it.🙂
Have YOU ever been
