I found your observations about your dad insightful, and I agree wholeheartedly. I understand even more as I advance in years, there are things that I choose to afford, even though it may not make sense to others. In past videos I could appreciate how much your dad enjoyed his cab tractor. Sometimes it’s a blessing to enjoy the fruits of our labor, even when others don’t understand. Blessings.
Tim you and Christie are so great together and truly blessed to share your lives with the community. May you both continue sharing what is truly true love for one another. My wife ans I just celebrated 40 years together with many more to come. Be safe and God bless
Awesome mower! Anything to keep the dust down is a big help (I've got some allergies also). The cab does give something else for me, a way so nobody has to hear me sing.
You can't beat a Ventrac for trimming around trees and dealing with hills. Each mower has something that it does really well, that's why you need several. 😀
The winner of the ice zero turn races. Tim. Very nice 994. Wish I had more land. But getting the 930r with the 54" MOD deck. I think the rear discharge deck would be great on your property. Great video both of you.
good approach with the unloading! way safer than ramps which can unexpectedly slip away or can make you realize they're too steep when you're already past the point of no return ...
Quick zero turn story - I used to drive around in circles like early in the video. My wife said “why don’t you stripe the yard like the neighbors?” - striping cut 15 minutes off of my mow time of 1.5 ac mowable of 2 total ac.
Well done Tim and Christy. Nice addition with the air conditioned cab. Tim, didn't realize you where that tall. Hey great episode with the young men and woman (1) examining the hydraulic systems on the 1025's. Enjoyed.
Wow... you weren't exaggerating about it being expensive. A $22,000 mower with a $11,000 cab (without options or installation cost). I'm sure there are folks down south who would love the tinted windows and A/C. BTW... I couldn't help noticing you tearing up grass on a lot of turns by doing a true "zero turn". That is something that is hard to get used to not doing. I wish you would have shown INSIDE the cab and some more of the features instead of just watching you ride around the entire video.
Just got ours in on the 1211 Kubota and did a first cut with it this week. Will take some getting used too. Biggest benefit - no more grass and pollen in my face while cutting. A/c seems ok. Mirrors kinda useless with how much they shake. And windshield reservoir in the way of the cup holder a bit if you use a bigger tumbler. That and the limiter where the a/c won't kick in unless your around 70% of throttle. Was gonna yank that swtich off but the mechanic said it might not have enough magneto power to charge the battery if I run the 1/c too low. Gonna jump out the swith/rod and see how much juice is being pulled. Maybe i can run it at 40% and still charge ok. if not voltage regulator might go poor. I think that got swapped along with almost the same alternator. But would be nice on a hot day to turn on the mower and get the cab cooled down before cutting - without having thr throttle running almost wide open just sitting there
Tim, thank you so much for your videos they are entertaining and informative can you please do a video on the small Deutz tractors (if possible) I am looking at possibly buying one later and I like how you are not biased and tell the truth again thank you so much for your videos God bless
The one I saw was a 2030 e we had one years ago it was 45hp this was back in the 80s and 90s and I had recently seen that deutz fahr was coming back to the US if it is not possible I understand thank for the response you all have came along way from cultivating potatoes in your back yard 😀
I have too many obstacles that would beat that thing to bits on the mower, but if that was the way they built their cabs for tractors, style, construction, visibility, and AC, I would seriously consider adding one to my 4 series JD.
I would love to see a comparison video of this mower vs. a cab tractor with a mid mount mower and talk about pros and cons and prices. Would a cab tractor be more economical? Also, an inside tour of that mower would be sweet! How do the controls for the ac work? Is it quieter in the cab so that you wouldn't have to use ear protection? Thanks for this video.
Thanks for the review. I'm considering buying a cab tractor to mow our property with but if I can save quite a bit of money I may consider a setup like this. Then I could keep my current open tractor for the big stuff. I guess the only thing to get used to is not being able to look directly behind you when needed.
Another use case would be someone like my step dad that owns a lawn care business and rides a zero-turn for 6 or 8 hours a day. It would probably make more work possible since you kind of got to stop when you're out in the middle of nothing and its 90-plus degrees we've been doing it all day and you're mid-60s in age :-)
Looking at your mowing overlap at 18:15 vs 18:30, looks like you're overlapping about 12" on the 18:30 pass, but not on the 18:15 pass. Was that intentional?
Great video Tim! Even the very very expensive Cab Deere 1585 commercial front mower lets a little dust and dirt in, based on some of the video s by owners I have watched. I am still thinking I may buy a 1585 at some point, may trade one of my tractors for one at some point, whenever I get to the point I feel all the really big projects are pretty much done. I really like the Deere 1585 over Z9 even a Z9 with a cab, for one it has a steering wheel vs the levers, it has 4wd which in past ownership of a diesel Z9 they are terrible about getting stuck and they can't hold a slope worth a darn, so the 4wd is a must for me.
This is an unrelated topic but beneficial. I wanted more traction from my 920 zero turn so I heard the plastic hub rear wheels were the way to go. Have you priced those things? Rear wheels for the mower were more expensive than the Nitto tires on my truck so that was out. I came home and started letting air out of the rear tires. I found that 10 psi gave the mower a much better ride and improved traction. As long as the air pressure in both tires is the same it mows level. We live in the SE Tn. hills so traction is important.
I can’t wait until we get our new cub cadet pro z 700 zero turn mower, because we need to get our grass mowed before it gets out of control, and Tim, if you want you can come down here to East Tennessee and cut some of our grass for us
I have run the bigger john deere professional mowers and I was always happy they had a cabin. That meant I did not have to wear a dust mask. People forget that mowing in dry weather throws up a tremendous amount of dust that you inhale if you don't wear protection. I know people that prefer an open station mower and they do have advantages but I prefer a cab.
Trying to get kubota to order me a diesel zero turn with one of these cabs. Lead time is pretty long for both right now. Come on Neil, get some in stock!
I think for the money a setup like that costs, You can get a Compact tractor with a cab for pretty much the same money and have a lot more capability... Sure the zero turn is faster, but whats the rush once you have AC? :)
Funny thing is, it doesn’t ‘feel’ too heavy at all. I tried it on some slopes off camera. Did not notice much if any difference. Of course, I am not a ZTR expert.
@@TractorTimewithTim 🤣🤣🤣 well to be fair Tim you did buy a Johnny from him! LOL. I wouldn't mind his business model IF his prices were not insane. You can find just about anything he sells much cheaper elsewhere. It's not like he provides service after the sale..
Do you still have this? Would love to see an update. Considering it. Tired of grass blowing on me when mowing. Figured it might work for mulching leaves in cold weather too. Although prob getting close to the 1585 factor cab mower?
As a person with allergies but finds mowing enjoyable this would be a great addition. Unfortunately you have to go big with the mower in order to get a cab.
Cool video. I own a John Deere Z540m with 54" deck. I love it. But I feel every bump in my yard. I will roll my yard twice this Spring. Zero's are great, but their overall ride... as you mention. Also the blow over of grass and debris onto my feet and legs is bad at times. But the speed I can mow :-))) I look forward to the next video. PS: My Zero is just gas :-( haha
I could totally see that setup for a city or municipality, or a golf course. We put several hundred hours on a zero turn mower a year. Being out of the sun and protected from the dust would be sweet. The only thing that would make that better I’d if it had a 96” cut like the commercial Toro does.
I would love keeping the sun, dust, and random branch to the face. Great idea and I ca see becoming more mainstream. Especially when you think of the huge 144” zero turns being built.
i wonder if you could buy an aftermarket cab and use one of these a/c systems with the 2038r? I know john deere doesn't make and a/c cab for the 2 series tractor but i really won't to try to make it work. how hard could it be haha?
Idk if you'd be up for it but I'd really be interested in you trying the green works electric mowers, they have a commercial line that's fairly expensive too if you have a lot to mow
It must sure be hot in Indiana. You are being so careful with that cab that you are driving so slow you might as well go back to a lawn tractor. I usually am moving a lot faster on my zero turn. I can’t remember getting too hot. I always assumed it was from the breeze.
I think a 72" will be ok if you cutting light grass but with only 24hp you try to push it in deep grass it just dont have the power. My last city i worked at has 3 JD997 and we can lug it down with a 72" deck and they are over 35HP.
Wow it's awesome but thankfully they don't have one for my hustler super-z because it'd cost as much as mower itself. I'll just have to keep wearing masks for allergy season.
They needed to add the suspension to the front wheels and that would have taken some of the bumps out too. You can't complain about tree limbs too much since you trim the height of low branches to the mower you use most of the time not what you're testing out. Your yard is looking great, too bad the grass up front didn't make it through the winter.
Nice but too costly for most folks unless you still want to mow and have health issues where this cab and a/c would really help you. Looks like the mower deck doesn’t flex side to side as much as some 60 inch decks. Stay cool, have a Blessed Day
I am guessing that you will get to use the zero turn probably the summer, having the you tube channel helps, I think that is a good idea, if you can afford it, I personally don't have deep enough pockets to get a zero turn, I can buy a good used tractor for the price of one of those, I would check one out though, good video.

That’s a pretty slick trick cab!
You can't beat a Ventrac for trimming around trees and dealing with hills. Each mower has something that it does really well, that's why you need several. 😀
That's a good looking cab! Much better than I expected.
August in Indiana and that cab is gonna be worth it's weight in gold!
I looked at those at the Equip Expo. They would also be great for a high end golf course. Thanks for showing this one too us.
Let’s get started . Thanks for the video Tim
Awesome. Having mowed last week for 4 hours straight in the hot and dusty environment, I am jealous. Good Stuff, thanks for sharing

You can see the filter from the rear.
@@TractorTimewithTim Is it washable or cleanable or replace only? some places have lots of fine clippings and pollen in the air, TY
I think a front mounted deck on a grasshopper mower would be a great candidate for one of those Curtis cabs. Great video. keep up the good work.

Tim and Christie, I got a z997r with the 72” deck for sale. Just under 300 hrs. Inherited a second 997 is the only reason I’m willing to part with it.
That looks pretty good😊
That cab would be essential for the larger open land area mowings

Be nice if it had heat too!
I think it will be warm enough in cool weather. Probably shouldn’t be pushing snow with it anyway….too heavy.
My employer bought a $40,000 mower without a/c…. Hustler 109” i think it is.. I rather have that…
I could just build a cab with ac added for around 2k for any mower if I wanted it personally

Agreed. Not sure why they don’t build an all glass cab with a/c for tractors. Likely cost.
SpaceX space suit, heat, a/c and filtered air. Haha, maybe even music
Definitely different. Looks like a Crain cab and I agree the cab would make it ride nicer

You're right about the ride. My neighbor has the Z735 and my 1023e with a finish mower on the back rides much better.
He driving it like a old riding mower🤷🏼♂️just enjoying the air
Look like there's enough room for a flat screen TV 😂

What a perfect Florida open field mower. However, I'd bash the cab in the first time I got too close to my many trees.
Will be interesting to see how tough it is.
Next it needs a heads up display.
Vinny runs an 8ft mower with same hp so it should handle a 6ft no problem!
Wow it's awesome but thankfully they don't have one for my hustler super-z because it'd cost as much as mower itself. I'll just have to keep wearing masks for allergy season.
11k if anyone's interested. Sounds great for some rich guy.
I wished the zero turns had bigger wheels to help the bounce you were saying
As someone who mows wearing a N99 respirator most the time a cab would be nice even if it didn't keep out all the dust.
Oh, it keeps out most of the dust.
They needed to add the suspension to the front wheels and that would have taken some of the bumps out too. You can't complain about tree limbs too much since you trim the height of low branches to the mower you use most of the time not what you're testing out. Your yard is looking great, too bad the grass up front didn't make it through the winter.
Tweels would also make a huge difference on the ride, one of the best options I ever added to my Z.
Tweels not supported with this cab. Remember, tweels have very specific weight rating.
I can't see a way to put a cab on Vinnie since it's an articulating tractor? Luv ya's from Kentucky!!!
Ventrac already offers a cab…just not one with A/C
Nice but too costly for most folks unless you still want to mow and have health issues where this cab and a/c would really help you. Looks like the mower deck doesn’t flex side to side as much as some 60 inch decks. Stay cool, have a Blessed Day

$32,000 ( w diesel), but if you are a contract mower in some form or another (employee retention etc), could be something to consider.
