The Original Baby Rattle Video

I wanted to make my son a rattle that had the look and feel of “baby innocence”. No fussy adornments or showy-ness, just honest simplicity, like a baby deserves. I try to do woodwork. I am now retired and in my early 60's and woodworking is my only hobby and passion. I ove learning and noe I am getting the time to practice. I don't have all the tools I want, but am trying with alternate methods. I find it so pleasing to use a hand tool and have good results. I particularly like antiques reproduction and restoration. My biggest challenge is that live in a small South Georgia town near Plains, Ga, and networking sources/other woodworkers are scarce. Thank you for the reply.

+Moody Harvey Thanks! Yes the walnut gets a pure mineral oil rubbed in by hand, and the maple remains unfinished. Over time the baby will add his or her own “patina,” which only adds to the beauty, and the story. :)
