I firmly believe that people die of a broken heart: Debbie Reynolds being one of them; after her daughter Carrie Fischer passed. That was too much of a "coincidence".
@@salsberi l am sure of it. Debralee at age 52 probably felt she had nothing else to live for. I've seen this in other cases where people will not fight for their lives. When l worked in a VA hospital, we were admonished not to inform senior patients of their spouse's or children's demise. John Ritter's mother died about 2 months after he did. Similarly my grandmother died shortly after her beloved son.

David, thank you so much for posting this heartfelt tribute to Debralee Scott. I loved watching Debralee, on television, when I was growing up. She seemed to pop up everywhere, for a while. I was also thrilled to see her in the Police Academy movies. There was something very unique about Debralee too.... she was one of the actresses that always stood out, immediately. I mean, once you've seen her face, with that cute little overbite, in a film or television show, you never ever forgot her. She had that special quality where she seemed familiar to many. She was very relatable. She seemed like she could easily become everybody's best film. Hell, I even remember Debralee's appearance in the TV edited version of the blockbuster film "Earthquake." Her scenes, on the airplane, landing during the earthquake, never made it in the theatrical release of "Earthquake," but it came time to edit the successful film for television. Debralee's scenes were added back into the film. Such a tragic ending to am actress/celebrity that meant so much to many viewers, out there. As an actor, up here in Toronto, I would be thrilled if my work could eventually touch as many lives as Debralee Scott's. I remembered being quite shocked that Debralee had passed on (I found out, a little later, after it happened)....and quite possibly of a broken heart. She was definitely a big part of my formative years. RIP Debralee Scott. My condolences to Debralee's loved ones. My heart still aches when I think how tragic her last few years on earth, must have been. Thanks, again, David.

When my grandfather passed away in January 2019 my grandmother was very lonely and brokenhearted and 3 months later after so much time of keeping to herself and died in her sleep around the same time of day my grandfather died. My birthday falls on the same day as my grandmothers birthday in late January and this year will be very lonely for me... now I have no thoughts of ending my life just missing the time every year. My grandfather on my mom's side his birthday was the day before mine and growing up we celebrated both birthdays on his birthday and I ignored mine because I looked up to him more. Though this story of mine is sad in its way I do not tend to end my life... but continue to live as both sets of grandparend has taught and raised me. Cheers all
Thanks, Dave! I always sort of had a crush on her when I was a kid in the 1970's. But just recently I've stumbled onto the Game Show network and saw her on Match Game. She was an unconventional beauty (with her hair constantly in her face) who really seemed like a sweet person. Such an amazing love story from people who found each other from different parts of the social landscape, and fell in love. It's like Garth Brooks says, "I could've missed the pain, but then I would have missed the dance." She got to dance before the pain. Thanks!
Dave, thanks for doing this -- so many of us recall her and it's good to know. It's also worth remembering just how far and wide the impact of 9-11 reached.
Wow, did not know. Thanks for sharing. When my grandmother passed she was 95, she went to sleep and did not wake up. It was three days after my grandfather passed away in his sleep. They said she smiled at everyone but was quite and stopped taking her meds. One thing, she called almost every immediate member of the family...just to say hi and she loved us. We talked about my first dog and summers on their farm and going to the railway crossing, waiting for my grandfather to wave his lantern as he passed on the train. I was so young I can only remember doing this twice. He worked on the Illinois Central Railway for over 60 years, started when he was 11. Sorry, again Dave bro you hit some memories. Cheers.
How ironic. The same thing happened with my mother's parents as well, but my grandma went first. And I seriously think that wiped my grandpa out. They were together for 63 years and married for 65. I really don't think he could or wanted to function without her. He died 2 weeks shy of his 87th birthday and about 13 months after my grandma.
The crushing weight of the anniversary was probably what did it. Knowing that she'd be seeing the first year since he passed. Probably too much to bear.
I knew this story but watched you tell it anyway because I knew you would do it so well. Your right some do die of a broken ♥ and she surely did. But like you I know she's with her love again.
Made me cry. Debralee was so vibrant in whatever role she had that I watched her more than the other people on screen. When anyone mentions the '70s look, she's the person I think of.
I was a bartender at Time Cafe in NYC from 1998 to 2004. Debralee was briefly a regular of mine. She was very friendly and answered all my questions about her career. She told me about the death of her fiance. I was very sad to read of her passing
Dave, this video was so very lovingly created and so respectfully worded. You have truly done a moving tribute to an actress who entertained so very many. Well done. Congratulations from New Zealand.

Such a sweet young lady, and I'm so sorry that her fiance passed, she went early to be with him again in another life, cause she did have a broken heart without him. May they be walking hand in hand in paradise.
Even though you were reluctant to do this video your subscribers are glad you did. You , of course, did this with the respect and caring touch we like to see in your videos. Even with the sad ending you point out the Great life and career she had. Thank You!
I forgot that was her in the Police Academy movies, but I do remember Hotsie Totsie. And for what its worth, one of the things I enjoy about your channel is that you stay positive and don't bash or badmouth the subjects of your videos.
As soon as I saw the Thumbnail pic on the video, I knew it would not be a good feeling type of ending. I knew of her death, but didn’t know of her fiancé’s death on 9/11. Your mentioning that she died of a broken heart reminds me of the scene in Somewhere in Time where Christopher Reeves’ character slowly fades away at the end. Tears me up to think about it, because most of us have that one person in our lives that we could no longer live without. Touching video. Thanks, Jeff
Debra Lee helped me. She worked for Meg Mortimer in NYC as a talent agent. She was so nice to me and complimentary. I recognized her immediately from all her work and we had common ground to talk about. So very sorry she lost the love of her life. See you down the road.
This gentleman, Dave Sundstrom.. is a wonderful, loving man, who put out a heart warming and sensitive video on Debralee's life. His message of loving and appreciating the people that God has put in our lives is the essence of this moving story. Well done! God bless you.
I enjoyed her TV roles and also remember her for the movie "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud" which I saw on TV in the '70s. I caught it again about 5 years ago on some outlet. May the Universe rest her soul.
Thank you for this lively tribute. I had no idea about her fate. Although I've seen her in all the productions you mentioned I didn't know of this. May she RIP
One of your best Dave, though sadly one of the most poignant too. I remember Debra Lee from MHMH and WBK and Angie, as well as so many other 70s shows. She had that cute girl next door look and really projected genuineness in her roles. I deeply appreciated your concluding thoughts; in my experience they ring very true.
I also liked this lady. Your message reminds me of a co-worker who never woke up to come to work. In a coma for three months. And pulled the plug. Broke my heart. Don't know why crappy things happen. Yes I do, it's a fallen world. Thanks for the video. I do hope that she was saved.
New subscriber here!! Thank you for sharing the video about Debralee Scott!! I remember her from the mid 70s when she had small roles in some of the Saturday morning TV shows!! I feel she was an underrated actress and I never had a boyhood crush on her but I still liked her in almost every show and role she played in!! RIP Debralee Scott!!
Just lost a friend, who passed at the same age. He was a good man, husband to his wife, and father to 5 young men. He was younger than me, but I have the utmost respect for him. And I always had a crush on Debralee.
Many people died on September 11th, others died several years after the events of that day, Debralee Scott is one of those people, sadly. It's when I hear of people like her that my anger boils up again about that fateful day, not so much now because of what happened, but because people want us to forget it, they want us to believe that radical Muslims are not to blame or are not to be feared. I can only imagine the horrors she must have went through up to the day she died, so sad. I have to be honest and say that I remember her from those TV shows and most of the time I did not like her characters, not her just the characters. She always seemed sort of typed cast as the loose girl and probably nothing was further from the truth about her. This is indeed a sad story and like I said, many other people died on 9/11/01 and some it took a few years for that death to catch up to them. RIP Ms. Scott and to her husband, Thank you sir and may you too RIP.
I lost two friends that day on 911 and one on the 1993 bombing there so sad, Hope not to lose any more from illness due to working at the site. I will never ever forget!
Ron Just Ron you're 100 percent right....these radicals come to our country, most seeking asylum from their horrific country, and then try to make our country into the horrible country they came from !!! Omar saying someone did something terrible and blowing 9-11 off to the American people was the biggest insult she said, yet she's still in office. Thank God trump reopened the case on 9-11...it's funny how the media again only told a story they wanted us to hear and not the real truth...like a third building gong down...no mention of that....hopefully there will be justice for those who died in 9-11 and the people who died years later of health issues because of 9-11. 💔
Dave... like you I also don’t like watching or reading something if I think it will have a sad ending. I like Happily Ever after endings for everyone. With that said you did a phenomenal job with this video. What a fitting tribute to an actress who was a part of our childhood and growing up years. I remember her in every show you mentioned ( I did watch “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” with my grandmother: I really thought it was a strange show😊). I was not left sad hearing her story ( Though I was sad for what happened to her.) You left me feeling admiration for her as an actress. You did a great job! Thanks again for the memories 👍
Dave, I really enjoy watching your videos. You have a way of telling a story that makes me feel good after I watch. You took a sad story like Debralee's and spun it out so well at the end. You are truly a lovely person and a good narrator. Thank you..

Thanks!
Great comments, emkkhan!
Nice tribute....loved her on Match Game but I also remember her from that television broadcast of “Earthquake”.....she was on the plane!
Oh it is worth remembering ,thank you.Yes it does appear she died of a broken heart .Thank you Dave.
I was wondering what happened to this wonderfully talented comedienne the other day. Thank you for telling her story so well.
She was a good actress.. I didnt know she died.
She lost her boyfriend in 911, World Trade Center, suffered from depression. and drank herself to death .
She was so beautiful and sweet.
Dave, thanks for doing this -- so many of us recall her and it's good to know. It's also worth remembering just how far and wide the impact of 9-11 reached.
You're welcome, WBH. I agree with those of you who requested this video - Debralee's life is worth remembering and celebrating!
Cheers.
My grandma died 6 days short of a year after grandpa. She missed him so. Dying of a broken heart happens.
Top notch, Dave. ❤️
Thanks Butch!
Wow Dave. Hotsy Totsy.
Sad and Beautiful at the same time. Your a class act sir.
As always, Thanks...
🙏🏾
Made me cry. Debralee was so vibrant in whatever role she had that I watched her more than the other people on screen. When anyone mentions the '70s look, she's the person I think of.
So sad she was beautiful....I live with a broken heart it's not easy .....R.I.P. Debralee
Wow...Hotsie Totsie was one of my favorite characters on Welcome back Kotter! I forgot that she was on Angie...thank you so much for the video
You're most welcome, Neisa1965.
Another great remembrance from a part of my youth.
Really loved debrallee on welcome back kotter.
Thanks for another great video Dave.
You're absolutely right Dave, you never know if there's going to be another tomorrow thanks for the video I watch Em All
Thanks Cody!
I was a bartender at Time Cafe in NYC from 1998 to 2004. Debralee was briefly a regular of mine. She was very friendly and answered all my questions about her career. She told me about the death of her fiance. I was very sad to read of her passing
Thanks for sharing your memories, Joe!
It’s really true that some people cannot live without their partner in life. It’s not sad when you are together again. 👍😎
Dave, this video was so very lovingly created and so respectfully worded. You have truly done a moving tribute to an actress who entertained so very many. Well done. Congratulations from New Zealand.
My father died of a broken 💔 after my mother died at only 42 I was only 19 she had
Rapid spreding cancer through her lungs
My father did not live that much longer and the same thing happened to my grandfather
My grandmother died and he would not eat
Or talk to anyone I am told I was a baby of 3
And he starved him self and his heart was broken he was in a hospital but it did not help in the end .Thank you for doing theses lovely videos such a lovely lady I pray she is at peace with her husband and her true soul mate ...
I hate cancer so much. I’m so sorry - a sad story indeed.
I am very glad you made this video, because all these years I thought she had died from cancer.
Remarkable, just stellar 🤘
I don't even know who that was ,
but that was really sad but you carried it out Tastefully as usual, great video.
Thanks Bill.
Very sweet vid. Thank u. Ur a dear heart DAVE.
You're most welcome, Lara!
Such a sweet young lady, and I'm so sorry that her fiance passed, she went early to be with him again in another life, cause she did have a broken heart without him. May they be walking hand in hand in paradise.
Well said, Jaycee!
Even though you were reluctant to do this video your subscribers are glad you did. You , of course, did this with the respect and caring touch we like to see in your videos. Even with the sad ending you point out the Great life and career she had. Thank You!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and were able to help me celebrate Debralee's life, James!
Another prime example: Johnny and June Carter Cash.
yup!
That is sad, but she had a great, significant and meaningful life! Kudos to you for this fine tribute, no doubt shed have been very appreciative!
Thanks goldenagenut!
I forgot that was her in the Police Academy movies, but I do remember Hotsie Totsie. And for what its worth, one of the things I enjoy about your channel is that you stay positive and don't bash or badmouth the subjects of your videos.
Thanks Ryan! I am very glad that you are enjoying my particular style of videos.
I remember her from "Mary Hartman" Loved her in that. I remember hearing about her tragic life some years ago. Very sad.
Thanks Dave for this video. I always had a crush on Debralee, and it's good to know what finally happened to her. Keep up the great work, my friend.
I enjoyed her TV roles and also remember her for the movie "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud" which I saw on TV in the '70s. I caught it again about 5 years ago on some outlet. May the Universe rest her soul.
Thanks for sharing, David!
Seeing her washing her VW bug was the best part of the movie
@@woxyroxme A sexy lady.
Thank you for this lively tribute. I had no idea about her fate. Although I've seen her in all the productions you mentioned I didn't know of this. May she RIP
Definitely, a story worth telling. Thanks Dave.
You are most welcome, Robert!
Life can be rough sometimes, for sure. Still, there is much joy and beauty to be had as well.
Thanks for subscribing, William!
Nobody wants to forget 9/11.
Dave , dear Sir you are very kind and respectful, I enjoy your videos immensely, thank you.
Thanks dbcruser!
I was just watching her on a game show appearance yesterday.I looked into her IMDB and was saddened as well.
Thanks Dave. These are the stories we need to hear sometimes to remind us of what's important.
Dave... like you I also don’t like watching or reading something if I think it will have a sad ending.
I was not left sad hearing her story ( Though I was sad for what happened to her.)
You left me feeling admiration for her as an actress.
You did a great job!
Thanks again for the memories 👍
You're so welcome, Mike. And, as always, thanks for the great comments!
Dave, I really enjoy watching your videos. You have a way of telling a story that makes me feel good after I watch. You took a sad story like Debralee's and spun it out so well at the end. You are truly a lovely person and a good narrator. Thank you..
You're welcome! And thank you for your kind words and encouragement, Shelly!
@@jdsundstrom Oh, you are so welcome, Dave. Please keep up the good work and keep those entertaining, heartwarming videos coming!!
Yes my aunt lost her only daughter and she was never the same and passed within the month. So sad!
Strong video, Dave. Sad. RIP.
Debra Lee Scott gave so much to all of us. May she now rest in peace.
I grew up with those tv shows Thanks for telling her story
People can die from a broken heart, i a few older couples that have done that. ive heard that heartache actually damages ones heart
I remember her, but had no idea what happened to her. So sad. Thanks for sharing this Dave. Your videos are great and so well done.
Very welcome! Thanks for the kind words, Cynthia. :)
