I watched The Hardy Boys as a kid but I honestly don't remember much about it except for one episode in which Shaun's character, Joe, and his fiancée were in a car accident and she died. My sisters and I seen Shaun Cassidy in concert. I remember he jumped through a paper hoop. We watched both tv shows The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. I read a few of the books in school library. Also read Dynamite magazine and 16 and Tiger Beat. Had posters that literally looked like wallpaper from ceiling to floor and Shaun Cassidy had a corner to himself. : ) Bought his albums the week they were out. Before Oprah ended her talk show, she interviewed him. I had to tell my sisters to watch. We all had a crush on him. : ) Those memories are part of my growing up. Angie St. Louis, Missouri
Loved the Hardy Boys too. Was one of my favourite shows when I was a kid. Unfortunately I don't think we got Dynamite here in Australia (or if we did my mum wasn't buying it for me lol). So glad I came across your channel!
Shaun Cassidy was my very first concert, I was 14 and he came to Cincinnati. It was great, Shaun Cassidy was my first teenage crush, was so good looking, wow and I loved the Hardy Boys mysteries
Dude... if we would have known one another as kids... we would have been best friends! We have such similar likes for tv shows. I LOVED the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew and Like you loved the crossovers! And I was pleasant surprised to see you had an issue of Dynamite magazine! I loved that magazine as akid. Hey Dave here is an idea... have you thought about doing a video on some of the kid/ teen magazines that were big during the time period you cover? It would be cool to see some of the covers with some of the stars of the 70’s and 80’s and how they look now. Just and idea. Great video.. didn’t know Shaun has done some of the tv shows you cited. Glad to hear he is doing well!
Hi Dave, great to see this feature on one of my favorite singers! As for “The Hardy Boys Mysteries” being popular enough to land on a Dynamite magazine cover, I think that had to do with their managers’ influence, too. “Da Doo Ron Ron” was a hit for The Crystals originally. As for the cover with Chewbacca, they called it a composite or some pre-Photoshop word back then. “Hey Deanie” was also an Eric Carmen song, and The Lovin Spoonful did “Do You Believe In Magic” first. My sister was also a big fan but she was disinterested when I gave her the "Under Wraps" album as she'd lost interest by then. Hey, I am really puzzled why you said Shaun’s two albums after “Born Late” were not hits instead of saying his next four albums after “Born Late” were not hits. Don’t you like his very different last album “Wasp” with Todd Rundgren and Utopia, and covers of David Bowie, Talking Heads, the Who etc songs? I always thought it’s amazing. Also what about his 1989 musical comeback with "Memory Girl"? In terms of acting, how about also his Golden Globe award--nominated 1979 TV movie “Like Normal People” with Linda Purl who was later on “Happy Days”? How About a “Whatever Happened To Linda Purl”? Or actresses Glynnis O’Connor or Lynn-Holly Johnson? Great work, have a super day! :-)
Oh yes! Shaun was definitely my crush!!! I had all of his albums and hung posters on my bedroom wall! Watched every Hardy Boys episodes! Oh and of course, Shaun Cassidy was my very FIRST concert!(in 1978! Haha, yes I was a teenager!!!) OMG, the memories!

My sister had the biggest crush on Shaun Cassidy when she was a teenager. She had a giant poster of him on her wall and every time I walked into her room I would see his eyes and it would scare the crap out of me.lol
My younger sister loved Shawn Cassidy, and had a life size poster of him on the bedroom wall. Me, I was more into Eric Estrada from "C.H.I.P.S.". But then I got into Tommy Shaw from Styx, and it was bye bye Eric...😁🎶🎸
Hell, I had a huge crush on Shaun Cassidy (not to mention David) and I'm gay. A friend had a poster of Shaun on stage, sweating in tight leather pants. I so coveted it.
ROAR was another masterpiece, besides American Gothic which was THE BEST SHOW on TV at that time. I had all of it on VHS. I *knew* from episode one that Heath Ledger was something extremely special. Thank you Shaun! I had your albums, posters, & LOVED Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew having read all the books. I used to beg my Mom & Dad to let me skip church on Sunday night so I could watch. Thanks for another trip down memory lane. I used to watch the hardy boys and Nancy drew shows back in the day and I read the books too have you seen the new Nancy drew show it's very sad compared to the original
@Dave Sundstrom The Hardy Boys Mysteries TV series (1977 to 1979). Was not the first live action adaptation of Edward Stratemeyer's classic characters. The original Mickey Mouse Club TV show from 1956, featured two Hardy Boys TV serials, starring Tim Considine and Tommy Kirk. In 1967 NBC aired a hour-long pilot for a Hardy Boys television series. The pilot was based on The Mystery of the Chinese Junk. It starred Tim Matthieson (later Matheson) as Joe Hardy and Rick Gates as Frank. Both actors were in their early twenties at the time. So, the Hardy Boys were portrayed as young adults rather than children. Unlike the Mickey Mouse Club TV serials.
Ah memories of every Sunday night. I was 5 when it aired. The van they drove, is when vans were the bomb. Custom paints, plush carpets, and custom graphics on the pannels.
Watching your videos reminds me of such a happy time. Shows like The Love Boat or in this case The Hardy Boys really bring me back. I can close my eyes and almost smell the gas I used to pour in my Honda dirt bike or feel the the excitement of going through a pipe at the skateboard park. The scent of fresh cut grass and spending hours playing baseball at the little league field. I really enjoy your videos and really miss my youth and those great innocent times. Keep up the good work.
I loved this show, read all of the books when I was young...but this series was in reruns when I was a kid and had no regular time slot...so it was hit and miss on the weekend to maybe catch an episode at like 2 or 3pm Sat afternoon...loved the intro video clips and that maze miniature they had.
I loved that show and I love shawn Cassidy I had 3 of his albums shawn Cassidy and born late and under wraps shawn Cassidy looks just like his mom shirley Jones in many ways they both look fabulous

Shaun Cassidy was my very first concert. My mom took me which surprised the hell out of me. I didn’t think she would. I wore a new flowered pink dress and brown leather sandals with my first pair of pantyhose. I felt so special. Shaun was amazing on stage. I’m 53 years old and can still picture the day. It’s one of my favorite memories I have of my mother. She passed away 3 years ago from Alzheimer’s.
Hey Dave, whatever happened to the oldest and youngest daughters on Little House on the Praire? Melissa Gilbert became famous from that show but did the other two daughters do anything after that?
Melissa Sue Anderson would be a good topic for this. The youngest one I've seen on Where Are They Now? talk show episodes. She's happy being a mom and quit acting
So fun story. I was about 7 or 8 and I entered a contest at a local record store called, Win a date with Shaun Cassidy, I had such a huge crush on him and so this would’ve been a dream come true for me. Well I didn’t win but did get a first place prize which was a signed picture of him, his album, a life size cut out and a beach towel. I still felt like such a winner.

RECONN SUPERNATURAL SYNDICATE Spirit Investigations ..Did you see David as "BOONE" on Malcolm in the Middle, in the early 2000s... great performance!!
@@peppermintcatsass3141 right on! Love that old school stuff. I have them myself.
I watched The Hardy Boys as a kid but I honestly don't remember much about it except for one episode in which Shaun's character, Joe, and his fiancée were in a car accident and she died. For some reason, that episode haunted me as a kid. I also watched Nancy Drew but I don't remember anything about it other than Pamela Sue Martin. Good to see Shaun is still active in the industry. Thanks for sharing! Oh, final question: what da heck is a daa doo ron ron?
Great memories! Thanks for sharing. And...no clue on what a “da doo ron ron” actually is!
Bought his albums the week they were out.
Before Oprah ended her talk show, she interviewed him.
I had to tell my sisters to watch. We all had a crush on him. : )
Those memories are part of my growing up.

Great memories, Angie! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
Loved the Hardy Boys too. Was one of my favourite shows when I was a kid. Unfortunately I don't think we got Dynamite here in Australia (or if we did my mum wasn't buying it for me lol).
So glad I came across your channel!
I'm glad you came across my channel as well. Thanks for the great comment, Anthony!
Live this channel. Live your bit on shaun. Miss these shows from the 70s and 80s. They were the best
Thanks so much, Dutchess!
Still live in the 80s lol ......but seriously
The first concert I ever attended was to see Shaun Cassidy. My older sister accompanied me and we had a blast!
Some of my favorite concert memories involve who I went to the event with...not the actual performer. Thanks for sharing Cynthia!
Great idea, Mike! I’ll add it to my “to do” list.
Nice to know what happened to him! Love New Amsterdam!
Thank you so much for your comment and continues support 🎸 I appreciate it, God bless you and stay safe..
This is a new private UA-cam of mine to congratulate and commend 😊 faithful and loyal fans all over and I must admit that your much love and support for me has been the bedrock of my success and without you I am nothing 🙏
I humbly appreciate you all✌️
Hay Dave, have you done an episode on the Kids from CAPER?
Not yet!
I been huge fan of Shaun Cassidy I even saw him in concert back in 79 and plus a huge of his brother David and I always will ( I have all Shaun albums ) he also had a hand with blood brothers
I still have the born late album and I'll never give it up!
I grew up reading the Hardy Boys. Enjoyed the show as a grown man. Thanks for sharing this and other videos. 🙂
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, Tommy D!
I cried all night when he got married the first time 😂
LOVED American Gothic!

thank you Dave for lot of memories for me take care.
This is excellent like my oldest sister too ... she always like cute guys .
I still have about 50-60 Hardy Boy books...I used to love that show as a kid.
Shaun is a legend & so was David, whom I fell for at the age of 6! Thanks for gr8 update, Dave!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, Jackie! Hopefully, your folks would let you skip church every now and again. :)
Very nice, thank you! 👍🏼
You’re welcome, Rosie!
It’s great you mention the importance of Dynamite! I have an issue with Suzanne Somers on the cover I got her to autograph.
Oh my goodness, CR-R! Never lose track of that treasure!
Dave thanks for saying that. It is a treasure 😊👍
Shawn Cassidy,
Also spent a while on General Hospital, in the 80's ( Dusty )
I believe....
Cool shaun😀
Sorry, shawn
Jennifer Kaven you were right the first time. It’s Shaun. :)
I rewatched the Hardy Boys Dracula episode this past Halloween. What fun !
He certainly did NOT Da- do run away from the biz. Sorry. Had to say that. He's an admirable man.
I loved that show and I love shawn Cassidy I had 3 of his albums shawn Cassidy and born late and under wraps shawn Cassidy looks just like his mom shirley Jones in many ways they both look fabulous
Thank you so much for your comment and continues support 🎸 I appreciate it, God bless you and stay safe..

I don´t remember Hardy boys and Nancy Drew but I used to watch both shows when I was a kid for the adventures. I need to watch again to remember.
Yah, I think I’m going to rewatch them to.

Yes. Shirley Jones is Shaun's mother. :)
Jack Cassidy was their father.

Yes Shaun Cassidy is David Cassidy's half brother The Hardy boys and Nancy Drew awesome performers and tv shows .They don't make good tv shows anymore that's very sad 😭
@@sharoncurry1239 I miss them so much....where they now?
Oh how I always loved Shaun bought all his albums too. :D Thank you.
Thanks for the videos. I used to enjoy the cross over episodes too.
My wife adored him when she was a kid. We both love American Gothic. Potato Boy is our favorite episode. He is a genius that is just ahead of his time concidering AHS and other quality horror tv shows are the current trend.
Invasion and some other shows were missing here. I just saw Shaun in concert this summer - (2019) - WONDERFUL! 38 years or so late:)
My girlfriend and I were in love with Sean ! we were in high school and he was a Dreamboat and he could sing.

I got to see him in concert in Memphis loved it
MsDusty Dennis saw him in Ridgefield, CT!! ❤️
First record I ever had as a kid was Born Late. I still know the words to every song on that album.
That is a fun story, Rose! Thanks so much for sharing. :)
I saw him in concert. American Gothic was good I liked it. I'm glad I have the DVD. And I have all three seasons of The Hardy Boys.
I had a satin jacket with his picture on the back and a pair of bell bottom jeans to match. I was in love with him lol
I loved the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew and it couldn't get better than a cross-over episode. By the way, the original books are amazing. Thanks, Dave.
Totally agree! And, you're welcome, Patrick!
I love "The Hardy Boys" interpretation on South Park. They were named "The Hardly Boys" and they kept getting clues.
I seen Shaun Cassidy at Chicago Fest, 1979, Great show!!
I loved American Gothic, " someone's at the door"! I think people were just not ready for that kind of show at that time.
Agree 100%. Loved American Gothic too. With the huge trend toward the paranormal on TV now, it would definitely have made it in todays TV.
Now I remember. His album came with a free iron on design for t -shirts.
I loved the free stuff!
@@jdsundstrom Just check my family lp collection and its still there "Shaun Cassidy Born late with the free iron on design.
Nothing really happened to him....he's probably home with his family....greating ready for Christmas...I know he will be missing his step bro. David for the Holidays...
My two older sisters loved this guy. Watched Hardy boys, Nancy Drew every week.
