New sub here! 1. You are so cute! 2. Get my teeth in! 3. Your terminology is perfect! I’m in the US and I love the words you use. Thank you for making this tutorial. For someone that doesn’t ‘do patterns’, you could have fooled me. ❤
Just finished my second hex waffle cardi - the first was a light grey and the second is a split colour, solid blue one half and full rainbow the other. Love them and the tutorial was brilliant - I only started a few months ago and I’m so proud ive been able to make something like this
So glad to have found this video (and your channel) today! Congrats on the fabulous cardigan in waffle stitch - I believe I would personally want to add a few chunky buttons at the front, but if I do, I'll be certain to let you know! And speaking from what I've been told, ducks and geese really should not be fed bread, as there is little nutritional value in it for the fowl. A great treat for them is thawed frozen peas, raspberries, blackberries, even lettuces are good treats. Of course, the standard wild bird seed mix is also a good way to feed them. We had a park nearby which had ducks, but one year there was a die-off of most of the domesticated birds on the pond. The park managers began posting signs to not feed bread to the birds and installed coin-operated stations periodically along the trail around the ponds that held bird seed or waterfowl pelleted feed.
Hi, I hear what your saying, and it is a true statement - IF YOU ARE IN THE USA, which from your handle appears that you are. SHE is in ENGLAND, where they do NOT have all the crap & chemicals/additives in their food supply that we have here - period. It’s outlawed. Especially true of the bread and bakery products. So, that is why feeding bread to the ducks/geese/swans is NOT discouraged. All the other items you list would surely be welcome treats for all those very greedy birds! Such fun & wonderful memories of feeding the waterfowl. Still haven’t managed yet to be in country on Swan Upping Day for the official head count of the Royal Swans. It’s still on my bucket list lol.
Thank you so much for creating this cardi. It's exactly what I've been looking for. It's so fabulous! You are a great instructor. I adore your channel.
You are amazing. I just subscribed. I have been crocheting and knitting scenes I was 7 years old and I am 42 now. I started crocheting a lot in the past four months because I had to get surgery and I needed something to do to get my mind off my anxiety. 😊❤ I already made three items and yards of lace. I am very excited about finishing my last project it's a hoodie scarf inspired by Little Red Riding Hood and my Gothic poetry. It took me two days to finish and I had to start over once on the first day. I write poetry and drew too and I run a blog. I am going to take pictures of my projects and post them. My favorite thing to crochet is lace items using a tiny needle and very thin yarn. I am very good at crocheting so I can make a 15 foot piece of lace with my own unique design in an hour. I am planning on buying thin black and other colors of yarn so I can make varieties of lace. You know what I enjoy the most about crocheting? When I get far enough in my work and the item weighs more and it starts forming into something and the stretching of the yarn feels nice between my fingers. 😊 ❤
Just wanted to say thank you for the great tutorial. I have two questions for you, what size are you making and how much yarn did it require??? Keep feeding the ducks, they seem to like it...
👏👏👏 thank you for this video tutorial. I prefer longer tutorials as I've been crocheting for over 40 years and I can't read a pattern. I just subscribed to your channel as this video made me realize your are a cool crocheter.
OMG! FABULOUS tutorial!! I just found you today - came up randomly in my YT feed… feeling lucky about that! I love the cardigan - and YES, neon yellow lover here 👍🏻. But I love LIME GREEN even more….to me they are happy, feel good colors. Your teaching style throughout this tutorial is wonderful. I’ve never done a hexagonal anything before, but am def going to try my hand at crocheting this sweater. I have subscribed to your channel & look forward to seeing what else you come up with! So, greetings from a lifelong crocheting Grandmother & all around Fiberholic, from here in (very unseasonably mild) New Hampshire (East Coast - Boston/ New England area), USA, the day after Christmas. My wonderful English son-in-law, my daughter, & 2 beautiful granddaughters live in Reading, UK. I’ve enjoyed the multitude of visits I’ve had to England over the years to spend time with them. Thanks for all your time & effort in filming a great lesson for everyone!
Found this video by chance and LOVED it! New subscriber. Will definitely try this cardigan and gonna check your channel out! Thank you for such a great video!
A-mazing cardigan 😳 I have made scarfs, blankets, beanies using the waffle stitch...one of my favorites....and thought I must figure out a way to make a sweater...never would have thought hexagon cardi. I can't wait to make one....biggest decision...what yarn...what color? Thanks for sharing your pattern with us...and I hope lots of crocheters will try this. 🤗
Hi love the tutorial and your explanation is so good! For the size you made how much yarn did you use in total please as I am hoping I have enough go start this ASAP! Thank you from Wales x
Thanks so much for your tutorial, your explanation was spot on, could follow your instructions so easily, all I’ve got to do now is decide what colour and yarn, I want to do it in ❤
Just to add that it's okay to feed birds on a pond bread, to say it isn't is a MYTH (RSPB) 'A swan charity told the BBC that many swans in the UK are underweight and "starving" due to lack of food in British ponds and lakes. It was reported at the time that campaigns to stop people feeding breads to ducks and swans could be responsible for this, as people may have stopped feeding birds entirely, rather than use other foods from their homes.' My park has a poster that says 'IT'S OKAY TO FEED US BREAD'. Just thought I'd add my 2p worth. Loving the cardi! Sarah x
I started mine and my stitches are on the opposite side I had to take it out any suggestions did u have that problem. I was so hooked when u made this video watched ten times before attempting to make . Hope u understand my question . The pattern doesn't look like urs stitches are worked the other side of each other If that makes sense . When repeating row four and five for the repeat stitches
Hey. So to help me keep up with the odd numbered rows vs the even number, the odd numbered rows are the ones that are done on the right side of the hexagon and the even number is done on the wrong side where the tail is. Hopefully that makes sense
Thank you a rare tutorial on the waffle stitch. You mention in the remarks that you used approximately 2600 yards . What is the length and width please? Trying to determine how much I need. Thank you.
And now I have to Google, because I don't know 'blue hexagon wafflestitch' to be something other than what it means in crochet. I am on the mainland Europe, don't know the 'nudge nudge wink wink reference'. Btw great pattern !
Uhm, Googled it. Since it is an English term that has been used in viral video's about the importance of safe s*x or the possibly nasty consequences when you don't do it safe, I hadn't seen anything about that. I can imagine you don't want your Cardi coming up in blue waffle searches, but then again, it could lead to more viewers, hahaha
Just finished it. Really easy to follow and was able to adapt as I didn't have quite enough yarn. Really please with the finished cardi although mine is more like a jacket as I used cotton so quite heavy. Thank you
If u using worsted weight number 4 what hook would u recommend. And u no how to make pdf pattern I wouldn't love to have this as a pattern pdf. Something I was wondering get job thank u so much for posting will tag
Erm... I don't even know how to read a pattern, so if I'm gonna make a pdf it may be a while 😅 I'm not familiar with 'worsted weight' yarn, from my Google search it's what we call Aran in the UK and I'd go with a 5.5-6.6mm hook for that weight (depending on how you want it to look) ❤️
Instant like for video description and timestamps without even looking at the tutorial itself
Right!!
Same!!
How many 100g balls does it take
New sub here!
1. You are so cute!
2. Get my teeth in!
3. Your terminology is perfect! I’m in the US and I love the words you use. Thank you for making this tutorial.
For someone that doesn’t ‘do patterns’, you could have fooled me. ❤
Hooray! Been waiting for a waffle hexagon tutorial 😍 Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial. It was very easy to follow. Can’t wait to make my cardigan!
You're very welcome ❤️

Feeding bread to wild birds IS discouraged in the UK. @maureengauvin1768
It's a myth to say you can't feed birds on a pond bread. We now have signs on our park ponds saying 'it's okay to feed us bread'.
@@lindseymeadows8457 No it isn't.
Thank you so much for creating this cardi. It's exactly what I've been looking for. It's so fabulous! You are a great instructor. I adore your channel.

Thank you a rare tutorial on the waffle stitch.
You mention in the remarks that you used approximately 2600 yards .

I'll have to measure it for you, I'm not with the cardigan right now, but will get the measurements asap ❤️
Thank you..
Hi..
You probably forgot about my question..
Measurements please..😊
Measurements please.. width and length. Thank you
And @Amora: you could easily make a pdf with the text of the transcript combined with stills of this video 😊
Oooh thanks! I'll definitely look into that! ❤️
Interesante. FELIZ Natal.
Love ❤️ it thanks 🧶🌹
I love this! Do you know how much yarn you used?
I reckon around 2600 yards in total. It was 8.5 X 100g balls ❤️
How many yards of yarn did this take?
💗💗
How much yarn by weight or length do you think you used for the completed one
I reckon around 2600 yards in total. It was 8.5 X 100g balls 😁
Can I ask how much yarn is needed for a large please
I made an oversized XL (uk18) and used about 2300 metres for this cardigan
If you know you know. And I definitely remember that. Permanently scarred from that image 😂😂
Now I'm super curious 😂. I have no idea lol
Does your tension run loose or tight? Mine runs tight
I guess I'm a medium tension 🤔
And now I have to Google, because I don't know 'blue hexagon wafflestitch' to be something other than what it means in crochet. I am on the mainland Europe, don't know the 'nudge nudge wink wink reference'.

It depends on the size you want to make but I used a lot. It's a yarn eating pattern. I think I was somewhere between 8 and 9 100g skeins
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤❤
How much yarn did you use please?
I used just under 9 x 100g balls of this yarn
@@AmoraLovesYarn thank you
