    I like how some diy sketchbooks you do this 1. Tear from sketchbook 2. Put together 3. Brand new sketchbook (no offense)

      Lmao I felt that way when I made this sketchbook. But I wanted to have a more travel friendly sketchbook so the large one made some sacrifices lol!

      I know this is a year old (sorry), but to be fair (at least in my case) I have a lot of spiralbound sketchbooks that were gifts from family or friends, and I personally don't like spiralbound anymore. I much prefer being able to draw across the book on both pages uninterrupted. So to me, reusing a spiralbound's paper to make my own sketchbook is both fun, and means those spiralbound books don't just get left in a drawer somewhere forever unused, especially because some of them have pretty good paper :>

      Thanks! I hope you give it a try! I have made a few new once since posting this video and they always turn out pretty neat :3 you can use regular Elmer’s glue too if you don’t have wood glue!

      @Jenasketchbook  3 роки тому +2

      Yeah! I used wood glue on the spine! I guess bind is another word for the process lol idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Do I have to fold my paper pages? I've got some paper sheets that are the size of what I want my sketchbook to be, but I can't fold them.

    • @Jenasketchbook
      @Jenasketchbook  3 роки тому

      Good question! I have actually made a tiny sketchbook with unfolded pages, and it worked just fine! I just made super sure all the pages were perfectly lined up before adding the glue :)

    Is wood glue much better than ordinary glue?

    • @Jenasketchbook
      @Jenasketchbook  2 роки тому

      Not really! I’ve used both wood glue and elmers glue on separate books and both work just fine!:)

  • @da3ena

    does it have to be wood
    glue

    • @Jenasketchbook
      @Jenasketchbook  3 роки тому

      It doesn’t have to be, but I just wanted to try it out. I’ve actually used regular elmers glue before and it worked fine! You just have to add more layers to the spine between coats :)

    • @Jenasketchbook
      @Jenasketchbook  3 роки тому

      I have actually tried elmers glue with a smaller size before and it worked! I think it just needs more layers and time to dry in between the layers :)
