One of my all time favorite songs. We used to perform this song in 1991 to a mostly confused audience -- "Play Skynyrd!" And nice work adjusting your guitar to emulate (what I'm guessing were) a variety of guitar setups.
This is the only solo I ever heard that seamlessly morphs from guitar to drums as if the same person is playing it the whole time. Really a transcendent moment in music.
@@bukel93 thank you! our jam band has the siamese dream rhythm (big muff/phase90) and lead tones down solid (even have the EHX MicroSynth, strymon deco, and Jordan buzz tone for lead!), but as you probably know, Gish was a whole different effects/amp chain.... (it's kinda hard to get an ADA MP-1 preamp rack or pedal nowadays...not without $700. ;-) )
@@spindrift2009 whoops, neither aha. it's a Boss Mega Distortion MD-2. It's all much of a muchness at the end of the day, I'm sure either one will work as well as the other
just figured it out, it's honestly a really good song to learn on your own as the lead parts are easy to follow. All except that lead guitar run down at the climax of the "flower, save the hour" part which is a shred + pick slide that i could never figure out so I made something up that sounded similar

Nice job. Imagine composing it writing it singing it and performing live day after day. They were a great band.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Such an amazing song with incredible guitar and drum work.
Great cover dude! The tone is so close. Great work with the volume and pickup switch management. Your cover of this song is the best on UA-cam.
sencillamente genial!,
That was amazing!! Such an inspired cover of one of SP’s best songs.

@@bukel93tw, you said Boss TD-2. Did you mean a boss turbo distortion 2? (Boss DS-2). I can’t find any such TD-2. Thx!!!

@@bukel93 so, I went with a PAL 800v3 gold. Or should I maybe use my Angry Charlie? Or my Mesa’s lead channel? Hahhhhh. Too many choices!!!!! 🤦♂️

What string gauge do u use?
I would have been using Ernie Ball's 9-42 or possibly 10-46 but I cannot quite remember
@@bukel93 i use ernie ball 9s too, I thought string gauge might affect distortion tones so i wanted to ask
amazing skills sir. spot on billy would be proud. can i ask if you have tabs or did you just figure it out?
