I just bought a cargo van and trying to sign up with a company they told me I need 1 million and a hundred thousand do I really need that to sign up with a company?
If you plan on doing loads with dot/mc number, DO NOT USE A VIRTUAL NOTHING. Some brokers or carrier companies are red flagging especially for new authority. We were red flagged out the gate by TQL.
I’m with hasting insurance company they drop me the other day because I was one day late on a payment and I’m without insurance now. What do I do please
I'm training myself before I get started. Does this apply if I want to deliver from my SUV? It sounds like only for "commercial vehicles" such as cargo vans and larger. I will check your channel to see if you've already answered this.
Yes, Cargo Commercial needs DOT unless contracted under a company. Your situation requires a commercial policy it falls under a different category. Let me know if you need assistance with insurance.
Keep everything in the same State to avoid a claim being denied. The risk is expensive. A good insurance consultant can help you by shopping the rate. I'm a consultant and can help you 😁 WHEN DOT NOT REQUIRED: If you are contracted with a company, you will haul cargo under their DOT and MC number, so you do not need additional compliance requirements.

I called four different insurance companies and they all try to push me to progressive. I refuse to allow them to force me to get progressive insurance and I kept calling around. I settled with Geico in which they are half the price of progressive. I’m only paying 350 a month and only had to put 700 down for $1 million policy with 100,000 in cargo.
Progressive has 75-80 family of companies with different names, but all of them related/belong to Progressive. One can guess how many more? All over the country and much more.

when you say locally with no DOT, that means only doing deliveries in the state i live and reside in right? if i want to cross state lines with a load, i need a DOT correct?
Some States require USDOT some States not. If you engaged in Interstate operating authority you will need MC Motor Carrier number. MC is given by FMCSA. (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration)
But if you open a LLC in another state that you don’t live in wouldn’t you have to file that LLC as a foreign LLC ? & ultimately have to get 2 LLC cus in order to get a foreign you would need a domestic or you would have to get a registered agent ?
@stickwithusdelivery I called SIMPLYBUSINESS & for some reason they couldn't cover me. They tried to get another partner to cover me. Do you have any updates on this issue?
I can help you, it's about the person managing your insurance. Each company has a different rating system based on the client's information. A credit check is included.
Hi, are you a licensed agent? I've been doing insurance for 30 years, including commercial insurance. Can I get your email to go over the information you give?

Hi Tony, i have a question: if i get an llc in north carolina but thats not the state i operate in, wouldnt that be considered interstate commerce, thereby requiring a DOT number?
I’m paying $732, it was cheaper my first year $594 and I have a DOT but I only do local. So they do based on radius. I don’t have business insurance so I’ll look into that. I have the 100/300/50

Does this work for a lawn care business
Lawn Care Coverage is in a different category. You have your own supplies. Let me know if you need help with a quote.
But how much is the business insurance tho?
Do you recommend the same method for rental car business?
If the commercial vehicle is being used for business, wouldn’t the insurance company know a DOT # is required?
Only if your van has a Gvw of 10001 or greater

So DOT makes your insurance high? What if I want to go state to state?
Just drive. The Constitution allows you to travel all of USA.
