This is amazing. Love the sound of this on Mandocello: The deep sounds really evoke images of an early morning, hard working, heavy drinker getting the sunrise motor running. Makes me want to learn this on my banjo, but I don't think it would take on the same inspiring dynamics.
@RibakTB well not at all what i wanted to hear as far as price goes but thanks for giving me the companies that helps me as far as getting a start. I guess ill just start saving up :)
@Terry Eugene No I just say that one cannot judge the quality of the sound of any instruments on low resolution video that's all but you seems to already have a preconcived opinion so no need to argue
They aren't usually cheap, but they can be found. A bunch of people look for cheaper alternatives by either buying a bouzouki or a guitar and converting.
@@clovergrass9439you would be incorrect in thinking that. Mandola is tuned cgda, one octave above Mandocello. GDAE would be an octave mandolin. Disregard if you are European- the terminology is different there
if i were the uploader of this video i would not like comments of that nature, i am just sticking up for the artist. musicians are trying to share music with the world, they do not want critiques on THEIR style of ART.
Beautiful instrument. Whiskey Before Breakfast is to mandolins as Wagon Wheel is to fiddle, as Stairway to Heaven or any Metallica song is to electric guitar. Good songs but way overplayed.
This might be my favorite rendition. David pulls some serious tone out of that thing

2:35 -song start
Dang. Those guys are good!
wow. how cool
Sheesh - such a wicked fast speed! I play that at half their speed.
Maybe there should be more Whiskey before breakfast as a practice… 😉
Two of my favorite pickers! Way to go guys!
THAT'S MEDIEVAL MAN! Love it guys, thanks!
wow those are so nice
Fun stuff and I'll say it again... awesome collection!
Thanks, that was a wild ride
This my JAM
Incredible...Wow.
FANTASTIC!
freaking amazing
I want one!!!
Still amazing and epic!
wish i could play that well. I would listen for a slower tempo to allow the tone out of the instruments.
Agreed, they're known for the sustain. A slower tune would do the instrument well.
God damn 👀
Awesome Sauce! Great playing guys
I'm assuming you boys have heard of Robin Bullock. Great stuff, tough work on such a wide spread. Tks for the post!

Can they get through all six cello suites in under three minutes too?
I like the tone of the A Style better. The F style sounds tinny.
Well if you consider that the video is only at a low resolution of 240p it's not surprising I bet that this instruments sounds far better in reality
Normally I would rather play an f style but in this example I 100% agree

wow
ok... by!
@guitarcapo Rochester House of Guitars or H.O.G. has 3 mandchello harps now those are rare I think there must be far more than 4 5's
Very, very nice! Inspiring work.
what company makes a mandocello for an ok price?
Where can i find a mandocello? (not expensive!) does there is news?(not vintage) thank's for this video! (and sorry for my writting but i'm french ^^)
Who finishes first ??😅

where can a guy buy a mandocello?
see you
me fucking too, been for a while.
sounds like Rollin Thunder from Kalamazoo.....!
What a Holy Mess!
Mandocello can also be called octave mandola
I think an octave mandola is an octave below G D A E.

What can you say!!
Mandola show
👍👍👍🎵🎵🎵
+1.
Speed it up boys, let’s get through this thing as quick as we can. Let’s get out of here and go get a beer
Almost feels that way.
Is it just me, or does the K4 have a lot less trouble being heard? The K1's birch back seems to dull a lot of the brilliance you hear from the K4.
It's the because of the f style carving. Gives the instrument more volume and depth.
@Metallicazack
Hell yeah
I meant to reply to the earlier comment, sort of as a bit of a joke.
Great playing, but way too fast for my taste.I missed the beauty of the tune and instruments too.

i'm just going to tune my guitar to mando cello tuning, you can always just get a twelve string and take off the e and b strings, lol
Agree it’s too fast to be enjoyed. A great tune lost
Tu ne *parles* pas Francais?
I give off gas sometimes..
Does your gas leave you discolored too? :)
All these people saying they are playing too fast... Don't tell a man how to make his art. If you don't like it, make your own.
The melody is lost when its played this fast. Prefer it much slower. Good job though.
Seemed a bit rushed, didn't it
Yes ok and? You don't want to talk with a french? You can anwser me, I have learn a question, please? :)
It says : I don't speak French

ok so you can anwser me in english ^^
I disagree. If you can't play an instrument at any tempo, what good is it?
Faster is not better
Oh Well to each his own , Don't like the sound not a Mandolin sound only looks like a big mandolin
Je ne pal pas Francais!
Wayy to fast
Too fast !!!
What a noise... Bad playing. Nice instruments.
who asked for your opinion?
