Great video ive been running/using these 590 for close to 10 years . Everything you covered i went throu in id say the 1st 5 years besides the clutch cover being plastic and eventually getting beat up warped etc causing the chain adjuster to it better mean strip out kind of causing the chain to not be properly adjusted they are excellent and affordable saws !!!

HeLp..I was running my CS590. And I took down a 75 foot red oak. I was cutting it into 16 inch logs. And I was up near the last cut and it died on me and would not restart. Yes it was a warm day. But i've had this problem since I bought it a year ago. It's hard to get started and it dies out after running a while, won't restart... This is the new version of the c s 590. I have another one from a couple of years ago and have no problems with it at all.... I just run a 20 inch Bar on one, and a 24 on the other.
    For a little bigger trees

Side note whenever you change chains blow out grease and clean the bar i just to flip it every time to helps to prevent the discoloration, also let the saw cool down between fuel fill ups this also helps prevent costly repairs and will extend the life of the whole saw !!
Stay safe out there fellow arborist's !!!

I never had a 590/620 clog up the bar oil port, the Timberwolf laminated bars suck the rails are soft, I always drill the tear drop oil holes. Sharp chain is most important on any saw!

Greg, great vid. I learned a lot. If there is fuel seeping out of the compression valve is that because it’s flooded or an issue with that compression button?

I'm in Oklahoma. Which model and chain do you recommend to take out a lot of red cedars on inherited, neglected 120 acres? I've been primarily focused on blackberry briars. About to start taking out cedars.

You lost me when you said ethanol turns to corn syrup!

Ethanol-blended gasolines can cause some corrosion issues. The thing to remember is if you're going to be storing the chain saw, say all winter, it's best to store it without this fuel inside.

I gotta say that it can be slightly more involved than your basic 3 stroke sharpening technique. Works perfectly in a perfect cutting scenario but may want to look closer. It might need more honing on any given tooth if it's missing a chunk out of it. And yeah man. No primer bulb on this one
