Having been into street rods, and 4x4s built for street and off road, I am impressed. I did not do all you did, as I spent most all of my cash on the engines. Excellent work.
That truck is more bad Ass that I thought. 521 stroker, even more Bad Ass. Great job on the build. Thank you for doing the walk around. Regards from Ody Slim
Excellent build. I didn’t hear the size of your heads. I though you said 295 AFR heads. Is that right? Are they the Bullitt heads? What intake is it? I’m thinking about a very similar build.
Hey thanks for the comment. Ya they're the afr 295s. The 75cc version. The non raised exhaust port ones. Afr 4150 single plane intake. Alot has changed since i built this engine. If i was shooting for a similar build i would do it differently now but its still kicking ass as is. Cam and compression change could easily put this thing in the high 700 hp range maybe higher. Thinking about doing a big single turbo 429 setup at some point in future now .. but that's a long ways away. Let me know how your build goes and i wish you luck!!
With my old 390 I got around 11. Surprisingly dropping to 8ish was a huge difference but it doesn't stop me. As long as I have the money. I've setup 460s to have mid to high teens but there's no way I'm getting that with this engine haha. But hey it's all about fun and smiles.
When you get a little extra cash, you need a center cap for the steering wheel. You have a nice size gas tank, tho I hope you get more than 7 mpg like my last truck did.
Haha one of my friends was bugging me about a center cap too. It will happen one day. Unfortunately though no 7-8 is average. I've gotten better at times. My old 390 fe got 11-12 ish. I've also setup 460s for towing that would get mid to high teens when not towing but this engine isn't gonna get there. Maybe with a cam swap, different carb and what not. I have future plans for a low compression torque build but with a turbo. We'll see if that ever becomes reality. Would be hard to give up a good cam lope though. Thank you for always watching and commenting!
In perfect tune it was Supposed to be good for around 675hp. I'm no prefect tuner so i always said 6 to mid 6's but honestly i don't know, it's never been on a dyno. Definitely runs good and has potential for a lot more. It's quite mild as is and i dont want to take any reliability away. Currently thinking about a big single turbo 429 but so far its just thinking. Thanks for the comment.
First let me say, I am not a mechanic, but that Ford looks like something is likely to break down, and leave you walking ! The suspension looks very sketchy !

Haha well thank you! There's a lot of little things too like windshield wiper delay box. Led dome light. And other stuff that I forgot.
Mid to late 70's Ford trucks and a 385 series stroker, best of trucks and engines.
Hell yea!!! Did an 1800-mile road trip to southern colorado and back in mid-July. Love it!!
Love your ride! I love the 1970's and older trucks
Thank you!! I see you found our other videos haha
I love this truck....❤❤❤❤....reminds me of the 76 I built in a very similar fashion..point and shoot kinda truck
Thank you!! These are great trucks with tons of potential that most people dont take advantage of. Appreciate the view and comment!
I found this UA-cam channel on the back of a car and I'm really happy I saw that window sticker now 😂 sick truck!
Haha I'm guessing that might have been my car. That's pretty cool though. Thank you for the comment!! And thanks for the compliment too!
makes me miss my 1976 dodge power wagon step side with a 440cid pass anything but a gas station, but still loved the hell out of it
Man those are great trucks! Wouldn't mind having one. Thanks for the comment!

Don't feel bad about your fuel mileage we have a 2008 Ford F350 with the 5.4 Triton it gets 7 average unloaded on the highway
Thank you!

"Not a mechanic" .... Go to sema if you want to see sketchy
