@@tinterlande You make drums sound like I want them to sound. I'm not even gigging, and I was oh so close to buying the Tulip kit. Good gravy you make that kit, and all these snares, absolutely sing! Do it! Share your secret sauce! :)

You guys make THE best drum videos on UA-cam. No other channel compares to the quality, sound, humour or sense of community you guys provide to drummers worldwide. THANK YOU.
That Dunnett Bronze and the Noble & Cooley Tulip drum does it for me!!!! Tony is amazing at mixing and tuning so honestly, any drum that he mixes will sound great! Keep up the excellent work!!!
I’d play any of these drums. They all sounded great. But gun to head I’d go with the TAMA Star Reserve hammered brass. Just a great balance. To my ears, the most versatile.
First, I want to work with you guys! Second, that Gretsch aluminum sounded really nice. You guys opened up a whole new series of videos! Staff favorites on kits, rides, crashes, hi-hats, oh my!
a great snare, aluminum is always good, but we all have to understand that the player behing really make justice, he was a having little more consistency on his playing. it feels good for the demo.
I made the move from a major music store drummer posting reviews to yours simply because he never actually REVIEWED the gear, only pointed out the positive aspect of each kit. As a female drummer I needed a real comparison and something to help me decide on my next kit. That's where Shane, Tony and the crew stand out from the rest. They're honest and transparent, which is what I need. I visited DCP a couple of years ago and never wanted to leave, but they do have operating hours :). DCP is now my go to, even though I now live on the Jersey Shore. I'll be purchasing a new kit soon. Which one? I'll keep watching, and hopefully you will point me in the right direction. Thank you guys!!
My top 3: Brit Drum Co., Dunnett Titanium, and Gretsch. Love to any of them. Plus, that Sonor kit sounds fantastic. Thanks for another informative video.
If The Police ever does go back to the studio, I could see/hear Stewart Copeland recording on that Tama. I have the Gretsch. Love it. Not sure how you can pick a favorite. All these Snare's were awesome. Love your videos DCP. Thanks
Stewart's snare wasn't that special, it's more the studio production work after he recorded it that we all think of as his sound .Not to take anything away from the Legend, I will never forget seeing him Live on the glorious but brief Police Reunion tour.
Tough call between the Dunnett Bronze and the Canopus Maple…. As to my ACTUAL favorite, it’s a tough call between my 1980’s 14x8 maple free floater and my 13x5.5 DW cast aluminum. Also gotta give an honorable mention to my Ludwig LM402 bronze!!! That thing sounds amazing with an Evans HD Dry on it!!!
James is from Texas, I'm from Texas, James is from San Antonio, I'm from San Antonio 😀. If you want to laugh go hang out with James because when he was down here at Sam Ash that's what would always happen 👍
Noble & Cooley. Been playing one since the 90’s. Makes my eyes blink every time I lay into it. If I want to get my bands attention I’ll just hit a rim shot. Works every time.
So many great sounding snares! My pick would be the Dunnett bronze. I played a 6.5x14 black beauty super sensitive bronze shell for years. It's warm but cuts.
All great choices! I’d take any of them in a heartbeat. It’s a good time to expand the collection, so maybe I’ll have to look at more than just one. I wish! Great video, guys!
A big reason why the Gretsch aluminum drum sounds so good is because of the 302 hoops...they just give any drum a really fat, meaty tone that sits in the sweet spot between die casts and triple flanges. I won't use anything else anymore. Hilarious that he originally thought the drum had die casts on it!
My 1968 double kick Gretsch kit all dicast all made like earthquake proof. Absolutely amazing drums. I do prefer the 302 hoops on toms but dicast on my. snare. The 302 is like a dicast that opens up the Gretsch barring exclusive 30° machined shells perfectly especially for the toms.
Ya can’t beat that Gretsch sound. Some great sounding snares for sure. I need a Dunnett in my collection. My personal favorite snare right now is my Ludwig Copperphonic 6.5x14.
HOLY SHIT! SKIP! skippy used to work at a local music store and i would always shoot the shit with him! I was sad when i heard he had moved but i'm so stoked he's working with yall now! hi from michael engle/texas!
The Keplinger had me until the Barrett tow-it-up with that Gretsch USA Solid Aluminum. Man, it sounds great,...Barrett knows how to hit. I'll still give the Keplinger the nod, but not by much -- #3 for me would be the Canopus Maple. That floor tom sounded amazing too.
I’m so lucky to have purchased one of the star reserves at the end. So lively. Thank you guys for pushing Tama to make it with the 6.5 inch depth! Great video and comparison.
I have Dunnett and a Noble and Cooley and Few Ludwig's ( not on this list here I see) but man I really liked that Keplinger and Tama Reserve just gonna add these on to that Christmas list
Fun fact: I went to High School with Joe! We played in Jazz band, Concert band, Show Choir rhythm section and Marching band together. Great guy and solid drummer!
Great video! What's the difference between the 'Gretsch USA Solid Aluminum Snare Drum 14x6.5' G416SAT and the G4164SA? They have different sounds? Thanks!
FUN FACT: Tony is killing it on these mixes! He needs to do a drum recording tutorial video. Pretty please?
...I think too !!!

The Gretsch kicks butt!
How does a town of 22,000 people generate so many good drummers?! Love these videos. Great job guys.
They got nothing else to do

That Gretsch Solid Aluminium was incredible 🤯 Expertly played too 👌
I was only half paying attention, but when that gretsch started playing I sat up and paid attention. What a sound.

4:46 I love Helmet! second concert i ever went to, John Tempesta was playing with them
Dunnett Bronze, Gretsch aluminum and Noble & Cooley Tulip. Great snares and great video!!!
1. Gretsch
2. Dunnett
3. Noble
4. Tama Reserve
Nice line-up!
Oofta that Gretsch snare was killer. Tama was my second favorite.
I don't think Gretsch gets the amount of snare drum love that they deserve.
That Dunnett Bronze and the Noble & Cooley Tulip drum does it for me!!!!
Tony is amazing at mixing and tuning so honestly, any drum that he mixes will sound great! Keep up the excellent work!!!
Shane's flams and 4-stroke ruffs are the best in this video 👌😉
Lots of favorites but the Gretsch Aluminum probably stands out for me.
DUNNETT BRONZE ..👍🏿 6min 50 sec mark.
All snare drums sound really good, but if i had to pick:
1. Gretsch USA Solid Aluminum
2. Dunnett Classic Titanium
3. Noble And Cooley Tulip
Agreed👍🏻
I’d play any of these drums. They all sounded great. But gun to head I’d go with the TAMA Star Reserve hammered brass. Just a great balance. To my ears, the most versatile.
My picks
1. N&C tulip
2. Borlai
3. Gretsch aluminum
First, I want to work with you guys! Second, that Gretsch aluminum sounded really nice. You guys opened up a whole new series of videos! Staff favorites on kits, rides, crashes, hi-hats, oh my!
My favorite hi-hat is the one that I have. It's the Paiste Signature dark crisp 13". That thing cuts like a razor through absolutely anything.
the TAMA is great, but I was chocked hearing the ALU Gretch. Number 1 for me.
Gretsch and Tama. I’ve recently found out about noble and Cooley and I really like their snares. Their a must have for the arsenal.
#1 Gretsch USA Aluminium
#2 Tama Star Reserve Brass
#3 Dunnett Aluminium
👌🏽
James, the best drum guy i ever met in San Antonio! from Hermes to Guitar center to Sam Ash! Guy knows his stuff
James! Representing Texas! Miss ya bud!
Why does the Grestch aluminum sound so good?! WOW!

@@barrettgoeman8622 Yep- haha I figured that had something to do with it LOL
One of the reasons is theres an actual drummer playing it
@@barrettgoeman8622 But isn't that snare usually coming with die-cast hoops?
a great snare, aluminum is always good, but we all have to understand that the player behing really make justice, he was a having little more consistency on his playing. it feels good for the demo.

Beautiful snares all around but hell yes Barrett is my spirit animal!

Perfect response!
One of my favorite videos ever! Loved all the different snares, although the humor in your videos is what Im really here for. :]
The Tulip win here despite I generally never like wood snares...
Man, those Keplinger shells do not mess around.
Dunnett Gergo Borlai Bronze. maybe it was the higher tuning but just cut through the mix perfectly.
Runner up was the Star Reserve hammered brass.
I love your sense of humor. And the snares of course ;)
My current favorite is my Pearl Phosphor Bronze 14x6.5 with Die Cast hoops.
My top 3: Brit Drum Co., Dunnett Titanium, and Gretsch. Love to any of them. Plus, that Sonor kit sounds fantastic. Thanks for another informative video.

They're all good, but really liking the N&C tulipwood. Another great video, guys. You spoil us.
Putting that Dunnett Bronze on my “someday” list
#1 wood N&C tulip
#1 metal gretsch alluminium
Runner up british talisman
I’m so happy so see the Tama Star reserve hammered brass as the first displayed one in this video.
Gretsch Solid Aluminium & Dunnett Classic Bronze - are the BEST

ALL of em are beautiful drums and without any doubt I would buy and play ALL of them !!
Huuuf!! The Nicko snare from British drum Co is great!!! I love it!!
My favorite snare drum is Pearl Reference brass 14x6.5
The tama is the only with this special eq-effect, really great. The borlai and the cooleys are close.

14x7 black iron is what i was hoping someone would pick!

Noble & Cooley.

I love the way a great aluminum drum sounds like idealized wood. Winner = Gretsch.
The gretsch sounds incredible the best for me.
This video sold me on the Wuhan Koi's more than anything. That ride is pretty awesome sounding.
Please get Nate in more videos. That dude gots chops!
I’d take the Tama star reserve brass over all the others.
And here's me hoping you'd get that HLD588 down from in the background... ;) Great work as always chaps!
So many great sounding snares! My pick would be the Dunnett bronze. I played a 6.5x14 black beauty super sensitive bronze shell for years. It's warm but cuts.
good choices, gentleman.
The last one, the Tama hammered brass that Shane played. Wow! Loved everything about it. And I'm usually a maple snare kind of guy!
All great choices! I’d take any of them in a heartbeat. It’s a good time to expand the collection, so maybe I’ll have to look at more than just one. I wish! Great video, guys!
Loving that blue shirt Shane!
N&C tulip. Dunnett GB bronze and then … surprisingly for me the Tama.
A big reason why the Gretsch aluminum drum sounds so good is because of the 302 hoops...they just give any drum a really fat, meaty tone that sits in the sweet spot between die casts and triple flanges. For me and my needs it would be the Noble And Cooley Tulip Snare. Would be appropriate for all my current gigs.
Great choice!
Mmmmm the Tulip
