lol that grin is the "i found a groove in a sample out of nowhere and the shit is dope" it's so genuine. and it's the best feeling a producer can possibly feel. i've felt it a couple time but 9th's had thousands of those
I'm 52, and I'm telling you I heard a lot of producers and artists. Your gift is incredible. Although I think lyrically Rapsody is far far ahead of all female artists out there. She needs more exposure. Overall 9th Wonder is about to quiet the crowd. Mad skills!
-aight so what can you demonstrate for us on the sample side? -ON THE SAMPLE SIDE?! -eh.. sample side beat side whatever -man, i'll do the sample side ;) hahaha
Honestly, wasn't feelin' that beat at first. But once you started in on the MPC and brought that together... yez zirrrrrrr!!! It was bumpin' hard. Mad talent 9th!!! Blessings to you sir!
@whosabid he's not using any software or computer to make the beat, just an MPC 2500 and a record on a turntable to get the sample from. He does use Pro Tools the computer to track everything out and record as you can see in the video. Yes he used to use FL Studio and still does from time to time but he decided he liked using and MPC.
I'm learning the theory side with Fl Studio, learning a few different things but I doubt making a beat in FL Studio is anything like having some protools to work with. It's like playing piano versus playing keyboard. One just has more feeling over the other.

its amazing how most people gotta go thru all this and that, use different instruments, keyboards, and whatever and this dude just took a sample, flipped it, added snare and kick, and the shit is straight fire. 1 of, if not the greatest.
Man there used to be a video of him making the “Go Ladies” beat too. But it’s gone. And it was a video of 9th and David Banner going thru samples. Vanished.
@danfamuss1 did you hear the finished beat cuz that shit is hot.......another nice beat buy him is hearing the melody off his new album but idk man to each is own
@MegaLanek digidesign console 002 (probably). a digital mixer with a firewire interface using as a controller for digital audio workstations aswell. I think it has motor-faders, too. those all-in-one-solutions were popular a couple years ago but you can also get the same quality with another interface or soundcard with external mixer and a DAW-controller for cheaper. digidesign hardware is made for using protools as the sequenzer. but nowadays protools works with particular m-audio, too.
@GiddiGabirou depends on your sample honestly. in this case, the sample has sort of a swing to it and percussion so youd want to get a rhythm with the samples first then program the drums. but if you have a sample thats just like some bells or something, you can chop it and do the drums first. 9th also uses really small chops it seems on this track.
every 3 months I come back to this to get inspiration ⛽🔥🔥🔥🙏
me too homie
IKR!!! I was bumping the instrumental for this driving to work today.
That sample flip was just genius.

this is a very inspiring video. it's great seeing how artists respond and react to their artwork, and how they get so into the process of creation
