MMD is basically Japanese equivalent to GMOD. Both got some of the biggest communities and have made some of the most impressive animations while also equally shares some of the most greatest (and cursed) shitposts and ytp stuff out there.. and Most of my liked Touhou Shitposts are done in MMD and i still come back to watch them and laugh..Harpoonneet is a legend but like all rabbit holes and ice berg goes...The Deeper the hole,the most dark and disturbing it gets.

To give some context to the clip of luka whipping the girl: When the item wars were first going for Luka when she was announced as a vocaloid, one of the suggested items was a whip and I believe on 2chan they made a joke about her being a sadist?? The other girl, is a very infamous character by the name of Acme Iku, she is not an utau or vocaloid but something called a MAIDLOID and she was maid for the sole purpose of using her for eroge games, the utau community has made a few utau voicebank for her too but she’s not officially an utau !!
When i saw "accidents happen" I instantly was flabbergasted, not because the crashes but it was my childhood, i stopped watching it in 2015, i have forgotten about it untill today, man i remember watching them with my brother...

As i have been on the internet for a long time and know a lot about this community, this video is very good about the MMD community especially with what has happened recently and the great popularity it has had lately as people making animations based on memes with touhouhou characters and taking the program to its limit. especially nowadays with people making models of both new and old characters of a great quality, I feel that MMD for touhou is what SFM is for TF2 incluso los videos viejos que estan por ahi, incluso algunos con loquendo lo que no esperaba yes, one can't deny things like how weird the community can be especially in devian art although I'm glad that more people are joining the community for other things like genshin impac or new anime

Where'd it it come from? What memes spawned from it? 14:05 Deviantart? Search? Don't make me laugh. Did you somehow make it actually work properly? For me it seems to automatically use some sort of fuzzy string matching that will get you mostly irrelevant results unless what you're looking for is very mainstream.

for the western part there's good amount of mihoyo stuff (Honkai Impact, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail) MMD and it's just okay (not weird, mostly a parody scene of an anime)
There was a brief period of time where I've hunkered down to some mmds from the eastern side of things and couldn't tell what was going on, but I still enjoyed it because nonsense is my kind of style.
MMD is cool for animating and easy to use but you have to be very careful with physics or it starts shaking when done right the physics can be really good
You’re actually right lol. Touhou MMDs are literally infinite unending entertainment because of how many there are. Most of them are nonsense (which can be entertaining). And some of them are even actually good stories if u know where to look
Bro, when I was 13 I use MMD because I love the dance videos of saint Seiya, it was that moment that I knew... Animation is too hard, it took me a week just make Miku do a step correctly 😂 but at the same time, my respect for animations, programers and editors blow up
MMD got me to learn how to make models from scratch in Blender, how to port from games, and how to rig for different programs... but animating them was too much effort lol. When I realized I was just collecting digital dolls at that point, I dropped out of MMD/vocaloid. Now I use those skills to make garbage mods for Skyrim lmaooo
An interesting insight for MMD from the japanese side came sometime ago from a japanese animator. Japanese fans and animators were heavily critical of MMD videos uploaded on Twitter and Bilibili, mainly from chinese animators, who used MMD as a starting point to make animations with a more "real" touch: hair, cloth and fluid simulation, as well as industry-standard rendering on programs like Cinema4d, Maya and Blender. According to him, MMD was a double edged blade as, despite it being so beginner friendly and introducing 3d animation to beginners, it trivialised the process and lowered the quality standards. Janky skirt and hair physics for example, were treated as more realistic from the japanese side, while it was clear that a simulated example was far superior. I think he was theorising it had a hint of racism, as the majority of those videos came from the west and specifially China. He further went to say the problem was also starting to leak in the video game industry.
As someone who posted MMD how to tutorials on DA back in the day... I can assure you the community lives on! I check that account like once a year and it gets messages like every 3 months from newbies asking how to unzip models on their phones. Still shook about that 💀

"Western Wonderland." and i want to make it related kind of to Touhou Project. i like the idea of things being femaled or "gaginkafied" so i was wondering if i could maybe get a shout out so the community would know I'm looking for help. I will be making it on this account for now but will be a slow start.
I'd say the splatoon creator was in the wrong here. Sure, art takes a shitton of time, even for 3d animation, and I do understand if the amount of people asking for another episode was overwhelming. But instead of reminding their viewers about the effort it takes to make an episode, or just saying that they've been too burned out to create another episode, they threw an absolute fit. This is honestly why I don't feel comfy watching Sr. Pelo anymore, as he also didn't handle fans getting too excited well. In conclusion, you don't have to dedicate everything to a promise, but you shouldn't be an ass just because you couldn't fufill it. Also, just some advice, the "my viewers aren't subscribed thing" doesn't really help, it's more just annoying. Everything else about the vid's pretty good though, and I do wish good luck in your future content.
I know this seems odd, but next time, can you talk about this weird youtuber (perhaps internet troll) who draws hideous art of the touhou girls, mocking them, called "Evil Crash Bandicoit"? Cause I feel like he might be something to research about!
I think the big thing you missed here was a shoutout to VTubing, since Kizuna Ai, the one who popularized VTubing as a concept, was done through MMD animation. In fact, that may be exactly what happened to the popularity of MMD, that Kizuna Ai made the scene in late 2016, and as the concept took off, people began using software specifically for VTubing to bring life to their anime marionettes, which marked the end of the MMD era and the beginning of the VTubing era.
