Makes me wish Mario Maker just had one 16-bit art style that contained EVERYTHING, instead of having different things split up among the different styles.
Because in their old different games, some has different rules and different things. In Mario Maker, among different styles doesn't make you feel like you are playing Mario Maker but rather making you feel like you are playing an old Mario game with some minor to big updates
This shows up Nintendo for how lazy they've been with re-releases and to an extent NSMB, this fan project looks beautiful and more appealing than any of Nintendo's retro offerings!
NSMB is the laziest series ever, if they put in it half of the attention and resources they put in their 3D titles, it would've been so much more than it is.

It's the one and only positive aspect of this. If they take notice, they "take notice". That this is what fans want. Or maybe that was coincidental luck... Either way, they're asses.
@@TailsClock Nintendo removed am2r not because they were making a metroid 2 remake. While it may of been a small part of it most of the reason they took it down likely was because it was a free way people could play a game of theirs.
That's why hopefully Nintendo just leaves it alone and doesn't cease & desist them. It's frustrating that for all the things we can love about Nintendo, the company often won't give fans what they want (e.g., back catalog on eShop) and seems determined to stop anyone and everyone who *does* try to fill in those gaps, no matter how well-made it is or even if it's not being profited on.

I don't usually watch gameplay videos on UA-cam that often but this was mesmerising, I didn't even realise that 10 minutes flew by watching this amazing thing
I like those really wide blocks that make a bunch of coins when you hit them. It feels like something Nintendo legitimately would add. Hell, this whole thing feels like something Nintendo would legitimately make.

I love how the intro of each stage shows mario do a pose, then the black screen goes away to reveal the level, just like A Hat in Time did! Such nice attention to detail.
Oh shit, this is really amazing! I do have one suggestion, if you are going to do stars like the adventure mario games, you should incorporate some of that gameplay! Like maybe have someone give you a random mini game, race, puzzle, something different from a normal mario level.
My problems with this version : Some of the updated graphics aren't the best. For instance I don't like the new shell hitting enemy's anamation and burning the enemies animation. (I dont know why I just don't...) I also think they should of kept the going through a warp pipe animation and used the other one for only going into the level's... The first level I wish was more like the old version. Let me say my reasoning just in case mors or anyone in the team is looking at this comment. The 2018 first level is clean and nice while in my opinion the 2020 version plays more like a lost level's version. The 2018 version is less compact making it easier for the eye to enjoy the pixel art while in the 2020 version it's more complex and makes it a lot harder to see the little details. I found myself enjoying the 2018 a lot more then the 2020 version and really hope they consider going back to it. The other level's are fine imo. I like the old fire flower a lot more. I think it made the game slightly more challenging and fun in the 2018 version. It was changed probably because of the lost level's feel to this new demo has and how hard it would of been if they did keep it in. I don't want to sound greedy but no Green Mario? I'll even be fine with Bowsette just give me another character to play with! Also yes I'm one of the people who actually want Bowsette in the game. (Go ahead leave your comments.) Almost everything in this game feels official but that ending result screen just feels so lazy. If they did ever fix it they should definitely shouldn't make Mario come up to the screen. (Like it was in the old one.) He should just stay there after he does his backflip. Ok this is more of a question then a complaint. Did they get rid of the somersault? Since I remember doing this big jump thing that wasn't the somersault. And if they did that'll just be ignoring for me since I liked it but all well. They had the screen showing you the control's but I found other people who played this getting confused. Most of these thing's don't matter at all either really. I mostly just have a problem with the difficulty of the first world.
