Flashback is absolutely amazing and the developer, Mors, is a great person as well. Mors has some excellent tweets which actually debunk the myth that Nintendo takes down every single fangame ever made. Unfortunately they're not saints but they're not *quite* as bad as people like to pretend.
You should play Super Mario 63! It's a 2D sidescroller that has FLUDD return and has a good storyline, and lots of the levels are remade from Super Mario 64!
This game is so colorful and amazing! I love how people started creating actual Mario games and make them unique in a good way! They are so different than the casual Mario games Nintendo are creating! 😁

I'd say they're about even, because this definitely has so many about it that are better than Mario Multiverse such as graphics, music, but at the same time, Mario Multiverse has so much more you can do with it. It's kinda like comparing Super Mario Maker with like, Super Mario Galaxy
Multiverse seems to be forever limited to a small group of allowed players. I'm calling it: by Murphy's Law, whenever the creator of Multiverse decides to make it public for all, the Nintendo ninjas will shut it down.
I just 100 percented this game and there are two things to know after watching this if you want to do it yourself. 1. As far as I am aware of, there is not a Green Star in Digital Departure. 2. In Beetles in the Cave, there is a secret Power Star that you can access by breaking the bricks by the checkpoint. You can access it by breaking the 3 rightmost blocks (which are the only breakable blocks) and running to the left. There is some note block platforming, and then you win. I hope this is correct as I didn't look any stuff up, and only watched this video after beating the demo. I hope this helped someone.

Even though Flashback is one of our main competition when making Super Mario 127, Mors is a great person and the flashback team has made an awesome game. It might've took them some time to finish the first world, but the animation and ost is stunning and completely makes up for it.
This one was super cool, would love to see more rom hacks. Also idk if you decided or when you said it but what the hack Wednesday’s has a good ring to it!
Can't tell wich one is better because flashback has so many good soundtrack and has the greatest pixel art and has healthbars from every Super mario 3D game

big mario is such a good way of showing life points without depending on a lifebar... the game looks amazing but it changed one of the best things in mario that is not having a lige bar poluting the screen, and being able to get this information by looking in the character

It really is a flash back, gold an green stars, and death screen from super mario galaxy. Wall jumping and ground pounding from super mario bros U. Coin rings and three block long luck blocks from super mario odessey. Dude there are countless mario games put into this one!
This is so good it should be an official Nintendo title. I love the art-style I game it's just more pixels with modern type art-style it just fits for a Mario game.

Diagonal Mario World is not a fan game, it's a ROM hack. So Diagonal Mario World is the best ROM hack and Super Mario Flashback is the best fan game.

The visual style and animations (and even some of the screens) look more similar to the Mario & Luigi games, than the super mario games.
