Insane John Deere 425 Snowblowing Power!

  • With RimGuard in the tires, 4 rear suitcase weights and chains, this is the first time that I've had to clear the whole driveway with the 47" dual stage snowblower that I purchased over the summer. There's no comparing single to dual stage; the Model 47 completely outclasses the 49 in every conceivable way. This tractor is an absolute powerhouse and an immense joy to use.

Best upgrade I did to my 425 was the reverse pedal off ebay. I got the one made of round stock which I love.

That 425 has a lot of power. Those 47 blowers are pretty much unstoppable. I'd buy one if I still had a 300 series tractor.

Yeah, I've been surprised and delighted with the power of the FD620D. I'll keep the single stage on my 322 though; it's a huge advantage to have a tractor with a small footprint since the 49's subframe doesn't stick out the front of the tractor too much compared to the 47's big quick hitch.

I've never had a snow blower on a tractor but I wonder how our new Kawasaki-powered X570 could handle it.

2:00 "reverse petal sucks" I had the same issue with my Deere - you may be able to fix that. If I remember right I was able to 'adjust' the reverse linkage by bending the second link or connector off the transmission. Good luck!

Yeah, so I just bought an Ariens Deluxe 30 EFI. Used it this morning. It's effortless.
However, there's no way I can keep up with you on that road at speed. That's impressive!
I'll be saving up for your setup. Wow!

The first year we got our snow blower attachment, the convictions were just perfect and it was blowing snow over the top of our 2 story house. Well it's not a full 2 story house, the second floor is in the rafters.

Hey there! Is this a "chest freezer" or newer two-stage? And how is adapting to the 425? I have an old 400 and wondering if I could get a newer 47 blower (shaft driven) to work on it?

Thanks Tim! I agree, the 47 is incredible, and it starts like a charm every time since I repaired the carburetor. Since I pretty much do everything with the 425, there will always be more videos to make!

Were you running the blower below idle for a while? Definitely sounds like a bad bearing or chain out of adjustment too.
The 47 2 stage is a beast! I upgraded from a wheel horse 44” 2 stage and it blows it away. I’m so glad I got the 445 with the EFI. I’ll never have to worry about cleaning carbs again!

Just a thought, you should raise your blower skids up by one notch, that way you will get a smoother surface and won't have that pesky one inch of snow remaining. :)

No just people with common sense who can spot a hoax from a mile away, for example the so called scientists say that the largest polluters are that of small engines, lawnmowers snowblowers etc, so why are you polluting and contributing to the manmade climate change by using this machine, get out the shovel or try to attach the blower to a horse, stop being a hypocrite or start living like you really believe it, I'm so tired of people who say they believe who continue to live as though they don't, the same goes for algore who made a business out of a hoax and continues to fly around in his private jet living in a huge mansion or any one of the celebrities who are nothing but hypocrites.

Peter Bah! I love it. I have to be a Luddite to prove that I “really believe” in environmental principles? Don’t be ridiculous. Fossil fuels and the machines they’re powered by are necessary today. I’m not denying that, nor am I yelling at anyone for using them. Thankfully, there’ll be a day when I won’t have to use gas any more. I’m very excited for when I can buy an electric tractor and put it all behind me.

Acquired a M01471X off a 332, hardly used. Hooked up to my 445, just blew thru 2 foot snow banks, eastern Sask. Will throw snow 30 feet, your impeller looks to be worn, larger gap between impeller housing and impeller, my gap 5/16".

the hose clamp inside the tank on the pump can fall, so you wont get full fuel availability that and putting fresh plugs in are what solved any start issues I see

710 was sold about a month after I got it. The 322 is sleeping peacefully because there's not much I can do with it over the winter. The snowblower doesn't work that well (basically due for a rebuild) and it's not as "cold friendly" as the 425.

you say there is no comparison of your dual stage to single stage , i would love to put my 46 inch SIMPLICITY single stage beside your blower ,its been proven they take a approx. 20% less horsepower to run to move the same amount snow and now there is single stage blowers manufactured for larger tractors , however to be fair each one has advantages depending on snow conditons , MY POINT IS dual stage is not always superior over single stage
