- Abandoned Pizza Hut - Brentwood, PA. Today we take a look at this old dine-in Pizza Hut location that recently closed in late 2022. Pizza Hut, as a chain, is moving more toward take-out only locations. Slowly, these classic dine-in locations are disappearing. Here is yet another example.

Same the one of the road is open by Century 3 mall but they no longer have the buffet or waitress service
When I was a kid I always thought of Pizza Hut as the "good" pizza, because you sat down in the restaurant to eat it, the waitress brought it to your table and put the first slice on your plate, it was a real restaurant experience, as opposed to a take-out pizza which was barely luke warm by the time you got it home.
I suppose times have changed, folks don't really have time to sit down in a restaurant and eat a formal pizza dinner anymore, as evidenced by the fact that these are all shutting down - - - and - - - all the comments where people like me say, yeah, yeah, I loved it, the whole thing, BUT, haven't been there in 20 years.
Also, there's so many different places to get a pizza nowadays. If you live in the Great American Surburban Sprawl, you could order a pizza from a different place each day and probably wouldn't get back to the first place until halfway through the year.
@@irefusetoaskmydoctorifyour6401 they do the one in Johnstown pa is still opened on goucher st by the old school Arbys with the old cowboy hat sign like the one in Erie pa he did the Arbys is on scalp Ave next to wendys which is a few mins away from that Pizza Hut and it’s a old school one with the trapezoid windows.
It’s sad seeing all of the Pizza Huts closing down. I’m thankful we still have several open here where I live. I hope they continue to stay open.

Hey Wallie. I haven't commented on any of your videos in a long time, but I've been watching since 2019. Brother, I am proud of you for choosing to keep living when a lot of people would shut down when experiencing stumbling blocks in life. On January 10th 2022, my wife Jessica passed away after an 8 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Picking myself up to keep going, has been the hardest road to travel. But if I can do it I know that anyone can. Thank you for continuing with the great videos.

Hey man. Thanks for doing this video. I didn't even realize they had closed that Pizza Hut. I frequent the Brentwood Giant Eagle, and haven't really gone around to the back so I was not aware this was closed. Also, totally agree with you on that Wendy's haha. I have not eaten at that Wendy's location in YEARS for that simple fact!
Loving the sassy Wallie in this video! I miss the older style Pizza Huts - our local PH was closed down and repurposed to a car dealership, of all things lol.

A friend of mine was a manager there in the mid 70's and we would go there after hours and pig out when the bars closed. I lived on the street he shows behind the pizza hut... Wow old memories!!!
Where I live our local Pizza Hut burned down and it was the last old style building had character. Now, they rebuild it and it's a shoebox style building with no character.
I remember when I was a kid, I use to love gonig to Pizza Hut because they had a juke box and I would put money in and play some songs

WOW lol I moved to Canonsburg in the fall of 2022 and I didn't even know this Pizza Hut closed. I grew up in Brentwood. I don't get up that way as much anymore.

I am so sad to hear they closed this one. I'm surprised they haven't closed the one on Poplar St in Green Tree first. Shopping cart appears to be from the Giant Eagle and was probably used as a seat since it's at the bus stop.
There IS a Giant Eagle in the shopping center behind the Pizza Hut. And a Get Go close by.
I stopped in there during the beginning of 2022 because I wanted a nostalgic sit and dine pizza hut experience. they told me that the dine in's are all gone, which was mind blowing to me, immediately left.
Yeah they started phasing the Buffet's out first in the mid 2000's then around 2010 started phasing out dine in Altogether. That along with their modern industrial decor theme. And they wonder why people stopped visiting.

I remember eating there when I lived in Brentwood in 2012 2013. Lived on willohaven drive up the street.
That's the Pizza Hut I worked at as a kid. Sad to hear it was demolished, nostalgia wise anyways, a short while ago. That first back door was actually the delivery driver dispatch/entrance.

Aw, this is sad this pizza hut closed. I'm sure it was there over 50 yrs. Back around 1975, when i was about 4-5 yrs old, my dad took me here. I filled up on and drank too much iced tea before the pizza came. I turned to my dad, and before i could finish saying "i dont feel so good," i threw up all over his dress shirt and tie. I'll never forget that. Back in the days of thin n crispy or thick n chewy crust. Was no pan pizza yet.
In the mid 80s, my mom and i went to the pizza hut in penn hills (frankstown rd loc before it closed) for taco pizza. It was the bomb! We went about once per month, i think. One time, when i was only 15, she let me drive us home in her 1979 dodge magnum! I felt so cool!
WOW! This is such a unique hut!!! They were mostly all the same! I've never seen one with the singular pizza slice window next to the door.

There own by YUM corporate company, you'll see KfC, Micky D's , Arby's, and Wendy's. The same way. Thanks for sharing have a great Tuesday. Pizza Hut used to have a waitress to take to your seat and a Menu and she ask what you like to drink, she'll come back with a pitcher of Pepsi or something else lol. Memories.

I see several of those buildings in my neck of the woods and they all have been repurposed and I never was in one when it was a Pizza Hut.
Yeah, they usually chop the hut part of the roof off and/or change the windows. At least in the midwest.

Looks more like the late 90's early 2000's decor. For most pizza hut's were still rocking the stained glass light fixtures and checkered tablecloths through most of the 90's.

That pizza hut appears to have had the late 90's Early 2,000's decor. The Pizza hut's in my area around 2006 decided to do that awful industrial decor theme. And got rid of their Buffet's. And Pizza hut wonder's why people stopped visiting.🤷

You know something, that bothers the heck outta me too when people are in the parking lot when I'm trying to film a place that's abandoned. There was this village inn where some lady was parked out front of the restaurant, and although I'm certainly not doing anything harmful, it's like... Pizza Hut was always so much better as dine in over takeout. Sadly the one in my town is now a tobacco shop (effing gross) and now they have a takeout spot in a strip mall. Bummer.

What's up Wallie? I actually work in Brentwood and heard they're going to be tearing this Hut down and putting in a Chipotle. Btw that Wendy's is normally decent but slow as hell especially during the lunch rush. Never had a problem at the McDonalds around the corner though!
When I lived in Brentwood, I had the OPPOSITE experience. IMHO The Brentwood McDonald's was as SLOW as the one by Kennywood. Wendy's and the Burger King (Technically in Carrick) were vastly better. This was 10 years ago though, YMMV!

Try the BBQ place across the street. Good BBQ and good sides.
BTW, that Wendy's does suck. I have sat at the drive thru more than once for several minutes without anyone taking my order, only to drive around and see all of the employees standing outside smoking.

fortunately it's closed and non existent now. But the last time we stepped into our Pizza Hut I saw a VERY MUCH ALIVE COCKROACH minding his own business crawling on the floor, I pointed it while when AND where did you do this or that? We turned out the door and never went back, and apparently we weren't the only ones that others noticed my pointing and they left too empty handed
