You can do this with just one logical switch. Set L01 to 'OR', argument 1 to SH down, argument 2 to L01, and argument 3 to SB down. With another line you can add a throttle check for fixed wing. On L02 use a

I couldn't get it to work at first because I had another arming with switch F in the mixing function. I edited that function to include the source L02 and it worked!

Outstanding! Motors have the worst habit of turning on at the worst moments! This is a great ARMing method. Have it on my model now. I wonder if it can be set in global variables to be used on all models? Thank you for the effort you took to share this knowledge!

Useful stuff. I just cut my finger yesterday. Luckily on a 3". Cut was still surprisingly deep, tho it has already almost healed a day after.
My own fault though, I armed the quad while holding it in my hand and shaked it around to get droplets off the props after a crash.
Would never do this on a bigger quad, but it has also already happened to me to accidentally arm a quad when leaning over while having the controller on my lap.

Thanks. In betaflight there is a prearm in the modes tab that I always use for my betaflight quads. I was disappointed that it wasn't in inav. I'm definitely going to set up my radio like this now!

thanks for the tuto. I did it and it's little bit safer than only one switch, but this is not safer than the double arm on BF. Imagine you SB is down and by mistake you push the SH.. your quad is arm. On BF: if your SB is down and by mistake you push the SH.. nothing happens. you need to have the SB in the desarm position then push the SH to arm. Or maybe is miss something

Hi Pawel thanks for your videos. Can you do this with two "normal" switches so that you ARM with both in one position and you DISARM by flicking ANY of the two? I sometimes hit the wrong switch when wanting to disarm (SE and SF on my TX16s) and this perhaps would solve the problem.

I was very excited to watch this video as I tried to set-up this 2 switch arming procedure both on my Taranis X9D and Jumper T16 Pro (nice radio BTW) per YT vids by J.B. and other YT RC gurus. They simply do not work. I follow the instructions to the letter which isn't hard to do. Everything checks out per the channel 'monitors' but when I 'arm' the quad she'll fly if I touch the throttle regardless whether I flip the 'momentary' switch (SH) or not. What am I missing?

    • @segpie
      @segpie 4 роки тому

Well after thinking about it I decided to set-up 'turtle mode' on my Meteor 65 and while playing around with that and thinking about the "Safer arming" process. It then dawned on me that one important element was consistently left out of these videos and that was to make sure the 2nd switch (eg: SH) is working in BETAFLIGHT. The "SH" switch MUST 'ARM' in Betaflight when 'SF' is in the position you deem as 'armed'. Don't just rely on your transmitter channel monitors. That might have been obvious to many out there but it wasn't for me. Anyway NOW it works beautifully.
To be clear, I flip 'SF' towards me (nothing happens in Betaflight) and 'Arm' using 'SH'. The 'SH'activates 'Arming' in Betaflight. I flip 'SF' away from me and the quad disarms in Betaflight which is what we want. So once you set-up your transmitter you MUST complete the set-up in Betaflight or else you'll experience my problem). Hopefully my stupidity helped others. Thanks for your videos Pawel as I do learn from them and appreciate your presentations. I'm subscribed.

Maybe you need to change your mixer to take the arming channel directly from the physical switch to the logical switch. In this video that would be L01.

    • @brontosaurusburger

    Hi,
I set up the radio as per your instructions. However, my understanding of the logic for the move is lacking.
I don’t fly drones. I’m assuming this setup is for a controller. I fly fixed primarily fixed wing with elevons.
I managed to set the radio up with functional arming as per your video. However, when sb is down and sh is triggered the motor runs at full throttle with the stick in the full down position.
    Can you help?

Well, I did this on my Jumper 16. Worked well. However, due to poor quality control, I had a Jumper rx fail. A week later the multi module failed. I recently purchased the RadioMaster. I set it up as per the video, but could not get it to work.the only difference from the Jumper16 is that switch SA is assigned to channel 5 instead of switch SB. Any help would be appreciated.

  • @VictorSeedorsky

CZesc Pawel.
