Unfortunately, Maya can be fickle with things sometimes and it's too hard to make an assessment of what's going wrong without seeing it. My only recommendation would be to clear history and freeze the transforms of both objects before merging them. Any other issue could come down to Maya bugging or maybe you're clicking some setting or button accidentally but again, it's too hard to know for sure without some digging.
Hey there! If your Move and Sew Edges tool isnt popping up, you probably have the wrong 'mode' selected in your UV Editor. Try changing your selection type and make sure you are shift+right clicking in the UV Editor

For the thinness of the cylinder I unwrap there, I imagine it being a much small part of an asset that the player won’t really see and so the texture resolution I gave is enough to provide color, roughness and metalness but would not be enough to write words or something on it. If your goal is to texture higher detail on to your cylinder, you would have to cut the cylinder into more chunks so that it could take up more of the horizontal space it isn’t currently utilizing.

I've done my cyldinder uv's but when i combine with other model it broke my uv's... any solution please ?
