I wish Paul Westerberg was still active as a musician.
Me too.
Same.
Wow Paul sounds great here
One of the few bands and singers that hit me in the same way and stir the same emotions as when I was younger. Listening to The Replacements and Paul solo literally takes me back to places in time that no other music could ever do. I'm sure everyone has their own band or music that does this for them, but the Mats and Paul could never be matched, in my eyes!!
Yeah I can’t even listen to them much anymore because it was such a part of my younger life that was hard and great. I moved to Minnesota for college from the east coast to be further from the rat race and closer to family and The Replacements
Paul Rules.
there is truly nothing better in life than music created by Paul westerberg.....i love this guy more than anything
Why this wasn't a freakin huge hit EVERYWHERE is just par for the course, innit?
He hits ‘em over the head with World Class Fad and melts ‘em with Things. Love it.
Things was always my fav on that first solo record
In the same vein The Replacements then Paul Westerburg are like the soundtrack of my life... I have a deep connection to him & his music... Heck all my Grandchildren call me Grandpa Boy... There is no higher praise than that!
What an amazing line up of performers.
Richard thompson.and paul westerberg
Young Josh Freese ❤
How pretty is things? What an incredible talent
World Class Fad performance... SMOKIN'! Good lord that was good.
I like First Glimmer, THINGS, and Knockin' on Mine from 14 songs better than world Class Bad but this is good version.
Rave on Paul. Must say this Jools' show had a helluva a line-up.
Like fine wine this aged well
paul just absolutely killed it. how do you follow that?
Besides second guitarist's mic being way too hot on the choruses, a smashing version, Lucky to see this tour in NYC at Irving Plaza. Paul played most of the 14 Songs, then near 20 by the Replacments.
Agree 100%
Good, raw version of World Class Fad, but Things (my fav tune on 14 Songs) is missing those great lead licks as featured on the album.
I saw paul on this tour in Orlando in a small club, ao good.
Dave Minehan going off ... and Josh Freese is super tight, as always ... rocking
That crowd "solo" spiel went rather halfhearted....brilliant endless bbc career of boogie woogie merchant Holland....Why not considered editing this with less of his self serving banter ?
The bass player is his long time manager and the drummer and guitar player were plus Tommy were the Replacements for the reunion shows
Darren Hill was also in the 80s band the Red Rockers. Check out their tune "Dead Heroes".....
The guitarist is Dave Minehan of Boston's The Neighborhoods. Great band
@@davidoregan that’s him. There’s at least one great thing performance by them on UA-cam. Lots of high energy rock and roll. You can see the similarities in early Mats and them
He also played in a band called klover with the singer from Gang Green
@@davidoregan also the Raindogs
Only ten more years of a solo career.
Tim Finn and Richard Thompson recorded an album? What the fuck?
A man sans his band is just a man.
Gloria seems impressed.
Paul may not be the most popular man in music but to those who have been touched by his music he is a legend. And I believe great songs will always be found and so his music will live on. But he definitely deserved more. Everyone was merging punk and The Beatles in the 90's. But The Mats had already done that.

This is WAY better than the recorded version of World Class Fad!
That's what happens when you have Josh Freese keepin' time!
Jools Holland is an awkward little man
Yeah on the early shows, he seemed to have lost some of that later?
Wait for Things.
Song was reportedly about Kurt Cobain who borrowed liberally from Paul without ever acknowledging it.
He didn't like The Replacements, he said it in a interview 👀
@@in3rcia218 I don’t buy it for a second. Nirvana’s material screams PW
@@tyrekecantrell5941 Im a big Replacements fan but i think Nirvana didnt sound anything like them. More like the Pixies, also their songs are usually just sound sad and angry.
@@loveliness1219 Not the musicality itself, but the underlying themes are uncanny in similarity. Hopelessness, Anger, etc. I certainly agree with the Pixies comparison though.
@@loveliness1219 There’s sadness and anger in some of the The Replacements/Paul Westerberg’s songs as well though. Maybe a strange coincidence, but listen to the Mats’: Go, The Ledge & even I Don’t Know to name a few where Kurt/Nirvana sounds like he was inspired by them.
Whoa that guy is a Foo Fighter now
What song is this?
World Class Fad
Second song is Things
I'm in Love .. with that song.
'world class ffagg'? strange song title
Minehan back vocals or sound went crazy loud. Somebody got a thrashing. “Things” was more appealing. Haha
WTF are you talking about?! You do realize the sound man is trying to mix 5 or more bands different during 1 show right? Jesus.... Sounded great to me. Get a grip!
Why do I get Goo Goo Doll thoughts when I listen to Paul?
They were hugely influenced by Paul and the replacements. He even wrote a song for them
Kirk Cobain World Class Fad
Jools is such a terrible host 😂
I've seen worst hosts. He's not one of them. Sometimes he has to play asshole just to keep everything together, and I don't blame him.
Will always watch Paul westerberg
