On todays video I change the oil on my electric golf cart. Wait......Does electric golf carts have oil? Well the simple answer is yes. The rear differential has oil for the gears. So today I change the oil in my Club Car Precedent Golf Cart.
There are 2 different types of oil shown in this video:
Regular Oil - amzn.to/3HQB88J
Performance Oil - amzn.to/3XiQ05K - Навчання та стиль
Loved the Bloopers 🤣🤣🤣 That milkshake fluid was nasty. That's the big thing with golf carts, a lot end up in ponds from drunk golfers. One of mine from Charleston was full of dirt in the frame and under the body. Definitely under water.
And you're very welcome, your video's inspired me to build my speed buggy 😎
Loved the blooper reel! Thank you Ryan for an awesome channel!
Glad you did this video!! I’ve had mine for over 3 years now and bought it used…I never even thought of doing this! 😶🌫️
Ryan I like you style. You are a big help with my golf cart.
Great video and love the outtakes! LOL.
I love the bloopers... It made me hit the subscribe button.
It’s always a good idea to loosen the fill plug before removing the drain plug. 😅
That was my first thought. If that fill plug is stuck, you're screwed.
Looking leaner big dog! Keep doing what you’re doing
Thank you for making this video. I never knew so I will be doing mine too.
Thank you! Just what I needed to know.
I'm shocked! I thought all your videos were done in one take!!! 😯 Thanks for the excellent explanation of how to change the differential oil. Something I'm sure gets overlooked. Keep up the good work...much appreciated.
I wish I could do them in one take, I would have time to upload more! Appreciate it!
Please add your bloopers to all videos 😂 absolutely loved it!
Hey there, thank you for your videos. I need to add some oil to the rear differential of our club car. You are very helpful, but my favorite parts were the bloopers at the end. That means that I watched all the way through! I believe if you Tell people at the beginning of your video to stick around to watch the bloopers at the end, you will get more people to watch all the way through. Maybe even a few that'll skip all the way to the bloopers lol again thank you
Good information, thank you for the video
like your down home approach great videos
Great video ! Loved the ending. Lol😅
Wow I'm glad I watched your video before doing mine... I would have thought they would have gear oil in them... Like 90 weight
Love the bloopers at the end brother lol.
🤣🤣 you wouldn't want to see this Cajun trying to make a video! I have never even thought about checking the diff fluid in our DS or Precedent in 16 years of having them🤦. Scared to go check them now✌🏻
Great stuff on oil changes. Just bought a Tao Champ 2023. Having tension issues with break pedal. Watched your break pedal tension video. Is it the same on my Tao? It looks like it what are your thoughts.
Not sure you did this correctly or at least not the way I learned. When you cracked the drain bolt lose I didn't see any blood on your knuckles or hear any colorful language.
Ha Ha! My thoughts too.
Ryan, you have inspired me to purchase a golf cart. I bought a 1998 EXGO TXT. Very Ean a d no rust. I watched this video and wanted to change my differential fluid.. How, on my 98 TXT I don't have the bolts on the side to drain and refill fluid. I have a cover on the bottom without any drain or fill holes. How do I change oil on this model? Appreciate your content.
hey ryan do you think it be ok to run the royal purple in a , 07 prez 48v 4-12v batt, one. Stock components, im here in california so no snow or heat wave. "MAYBE" some rain wen we get some lol. I love royal purple my self
Hey Ryan, it's Billy here (your friend in Fairlawn). I always enjoy watching your videos and particularly like the humility factor. I do have a question regarding the oil change to the limo cart. Why was the oil milky, was there water intrusion?
PS - If your in the neighborhood stop by my house, I have a question regarding a 2010 48V EZGO cart that jerks forward sometime and also when I release the accelerator it feels like the cart has some type of regenerative braking, you can feel the speed decelerate quickly, but I thought only Club Car does that? Thanks bud!
Hi Ryan, Just purchased a 02 Club car DS 48v, went to the Club Car dealer (service dept) and when asked about the SAE 30 wt oil for the rear end, he said they use 80-90 gear lube. Who but them would know better (being a service dept). Just thinking, I would presume that the SAE 30 would have to be non-detergent. Anyway, being a first time owner, I installed the 80-90 gear lube. I guess gear lube, is better than no lube.
How did the Royal Purple 5w30 work? Can that be used instead of SAE30?
Thank you 😊
Where did u get that rear seat for the white gilf cart??
Ryan I am envious of your ability to squat down for some of those shots. … oh good info. Much appreciated.
I couldn’t get down like this last year lol.
@@Fentertainment yeah man you are doing great
Question about swapping rear ends...I heard some rear ends are dry mounted and some are wet mounted...is this true? What I mean is some motors are sealed from the transaxle and do not receive lubrication from the gear oil (dry mount) and some have no seal and do receive lubrication (wet mount)
Is this true? Or are they all the same? Thinking about swapping rear end and need to know
Is it ok to use Royal Purple 5W-30 full synthetic on a mostly stock cart? I have a Club Car Tempo with stock motor and controller, but I did add an Eco Battery lithium battery.
How often do you have to change the oil?
I enjoy watching you mod these carts , Have you added or can you make a video on adding disc brakes to the front wheels on a club car precedent ..
I never have. Maybe I will do it one day.
Thanks Mr. RYAN I never knew how to change the oil. Mr Ryan can you help me out please I have a 1987 club car ds with the 5 solenoids system do they have a upgrade motor for it I'm tired of being the TURTLE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Those are called resistor carts. You're going to have to pretty much change out everything to get real performance. There maybe a couple companies that sell "kits" to do this. Ryan may know more.
Just a thought you could use a pump that is used for outboard motor lower unit oil to fill dif. Don’t think they cost much.
Are you referring to SAE 30 motor oil?
Did you do the lithium battery conversion? I’m considering doing that on my Toyota 48 volt before buying new batteries...again. Thanks!
Yes! Ive done a bunch on my channel
Yamahas do use 80W-90. The drive1 carts with the “wet brake” need to use a friction modified oil and the gas or the electric carts with drum brakes don’t. Just ALWAYS check your service manual for your cart and see what it recommends. It takes 10 seconds to do and can help you prevent some serious damage!
Royal Purple motorcycle oil has the additives for wet clutches FYI
@@goldenlife9856 I think there are multiple brands of oil that has the additive in it. My point was mainly to check your manual for what weight oil your OEM recommends.
I just bought a 2010 ez go for riding around on my hunting property in silence compared to my can am. Unfortunately it won’t climb hills. What’s a plug and play package I can upgrade to for more torque?
Does it have the forward reverse switch on dash or by legs?
@@Fentertainment by the legs.
I don’t know what model it is other than 2010. From what I can tell it’s a ST? Wish I could send pics. I’m not a golf cart guy but getting ready to learn. Lol
Hey Ryan, thanks for another educational video. Quick question, you've tested several different controllers and several aftermarket motors; is there a combination you recommend? Or do you keep stats that are comparable for all the controllers/motors/combos? Also, would you still recommend any of the security features you tested in the past like the GolfCartLok, or the keyless start systems like XiQ? Any must-have accessories that you install on all your builds? Love your channel and look forward to your content!
I can tell you that the GolfCartLok is awesome. I put it on my 2022 club car onward that I built I would highly recommend it.
Hopefully you see my comment, the link of the oil you share on amazon description it says for motor oil engine differential not electric differential.
Are you sure is the correct one?
That is what I used on the royal purple performance
@@Fentertainment thank you very much
@@Fentertainment I see you wait to have some of the oil overfilled do you know the quantity you usually put without having overflowing?
Hey Ryan, they make an oil syringe or a syringe extractor that works great for your gear oil changes. Works fantastic on Golf Carts. Keep up the great videos
You will have to tell me tomorrow if I have what you are telling me about.............
The telephone
@@hanykoretam6433 I showed what they were asking about on the follow up video to this one.
Show with the guard still on the the rear end
Always loosen fill plug first.
Why did you not flush the differential when you saw the oil was milky?
I just got done doing it. I need to make an updated video.
Dang. I thought I was the one who mentioned about the 30 wight. I didn’t see that someone pointed out just before me. There goes my 2 seconds of fame. Buy the way, you cost me about $25000.00. I bought a bunch of BigBattiers after watching you videos.
25k! In my joe dirt voice…..”Dangggg” what you doing with all of those? You may have mentioned it as well. I’ll let you know when I get my 2 seconds of fame because this ole country boy hasn’t either.
I wish my ezgo rxv had a fill plug! Not even a vent plug! Requires pulling an axle from the driver side and going through the axle tube. Whoever thought that was a good idea must’ve been the same person that came up with the idea of an electric motor brake.
start the video at 2:06 and save yourself alot of wasted time!
You should have flushed the dif , your new oil is now milky.
You are 100% correct sir. Just got done with it. Drained it out, put atf in it and took it for a long ride and just filled it back up. I need to make an updated video.
@@Fentertainment I'll wait for the updated video before trying this on my cart.
If i can add you in instagram maybe you can help me on my golf cart which is not running.
I hv changed solenoid,m-core n even computer but also its not workin
Which computer are you talking about? The charge computer or the motor controller. You need to make sure you have power going to the motor. There are videos that show you how to put the rear end on jackstands and jump power to the motor to make sure it's actually still good.
