    I gotta be honest, new uploads always make my day that much better. That custom ramp for the firehouse makes the whole station pop. That's ingenious. The smallest of details can have the largest effect and I love it.

    Super helpful, I have been watching for years and have some modulars I have wanted to put on a MILS, but never did. Now and I am and went back to find this one. Thanks! :-)

    Love the fact that you can customise the plates with driveways etc. That looks amazing and definitely shows off the benefits of converting to MILS. I can't wait to see your city slowly get this epic upgrade!

    One suggestion I would have, having done this a bunch when I converted mine over was to download the instruction books from Lego from the sets prior. This way if something pops off and you forget where it goes or you have to do some rebuilding, you will have the instructions ready to go. Love how you integrated the road with the ramp piece. It's simple but makes such a big difference. Thanks for the content.

    Thanks for the tutorial. It'll be very useful for my city when I got to mills. The only thing with mills is that it's very part consuming but, the final result is fantastic!

    Thank you, Bricksie! I asked the other day about how hard converting a modular to MILS would be and this makes it look pretty simple. I think I can convert the Daily Bugle without destroying it now. I am building the book shop modular and did dark grey for most of it with green for the back yards. It made the basement of the house better!

  • @tannjam
    @tannjam 2 роки тому +24

    The benefit to just keeping the standard (with the technic bricks) is that with how much you rearrange/move buildings - you never know if that building will eventually get moved to a spot where you need to pin it into your exterior roads. Better build in the standard that you're not going to use, than have to tear apart and rebuild when you later move that building to a spot that needs it. And oh baby - you stood on the plate - attaguy! Rock Solid!

    MILS may be great for you, but not for me. Just for personal preferences. First of all, I thought it wouldn’t be flush with the modular buildings that I have plus those 3 in 1 sets, and my other buildings. I honestly don’t think I want to utilize the MILS. I’m perfectly happy for what I’m doing for my city. What you are doing is really, really cool! Keep it up 👍🏼

    With the base plate removed, you can replace the Technics connector bricks on the building walls with normal bricks. The connector bricks are no longer needed now that MILS plate handles connection.

    i actually did this and put 4 mils new road plates on top.Put a few bits of lego on the board and then put hagrids hut on ,also where you can put little bits of lego to make the roadway i put flowers and bits of lego to make raised rocks .It looked really good and i think unusual.someone gave them to me and i dont really have a city so i thought of a creative way to use them

    I need to have a few tables and a big collection of parts... don't know how to start the bulk part "wall" like what parts to start getting.

    Not sure when you got the Fire Brigade, but did you have any trouble with the reddish brown pieces snapping? I always heard that was a defect with the color at the time and it was true in the mini modular anniversary pack I have. 3 or 4 1x1 plates snapped in half and that's never happened to me. It's the main reason I haven't tried to buy the Fire Brigade yet.

    So now that you've converted the original modulars to MILS, what are your plans for the sidewalks? Will you leave them dark gray or convert them to light gray to match your MILS street sidewalks? I converted to MILS about a year ago, and I'm still struggling on deciding what to do about the sidewalk colors.

    Thank for the vid! Quick thought: Why are you using tan baseplates instead of green or blue especially when the color doesn't matter? Tan baseplates are retired and about double the cost of a blue or green baseplates. Just a thought, save the tan for underwater, zoo, farm or future wild west area of the amusement park. lol.

    This might be an amateur question, but why can’t you just put the 32x32 Baseplate directly on top of the MILS plate without having to do a full conversion?
    Is it because some of the modular buildings can cause the base plate to bend or warp upwards on the edges?

      They can be completely customized, so you can add more realistic detail than the previous roads, as well as landscaping plates.
