I think she could have (if she wanted to which i dont feel like she has to) used the part where its aimed at a more mature audience to switch up her role to the way she wants it to be if the directors give her that freedom. So like i said she wanted to this could also have been a way for her to take that icarly sam role which she isnt proud of take the element of them being grown up now and also this being aimed at a mature audience and use that to show her character growth and real life growth.

Honestly, I was disappointed when I heard she wasn’t going to be in the reboot, but after watching this I can totally understand her reasons and genuinely feel bad for her experience as a child actress. I wish her a long and happy life and whatever she decides to do will be for the best.
It definitely won't be ICarly without Jennette, but its her decision and people need to learn to respect that. Hopefully she will change her mind, if not I hope she puts out more music. She can sing really well and I enjoy her music.

Jeannette needs to realize, she wasn’t looked up to because of the chicken lines and being funny. She was looked up to because she changed the way blonde leads were seen at the time. Most of the time back in that time, blonde characters were shown as either pristine and prissy rich girls or an overly air headed girl who is made the butt of jokes constantly. Her portrayal of Sam showed that a blonde girl can be tough and street wise, and doesn’t need to always be a rich girl or an airhead. It was refreshing. But in the end I hope she chooses whatever is best for her and not what others what.
i looked at it has just girls in general. it wasn’t the “besties unicorns rainbows” dynamic between two girl best friends. she was her own person and knew how to defend herself and her friends
Not to put down your on views but I don’t think this was the reason people looked up to Jennette’s character. Sam was relatable and broke a lot of female stereotypes overall, her character was definitely strong in more ways than one and people liked her attitude and personality. I don’t think it’s had much to do with her just breaking the stereotypical blonde trope and character but breaking a lot of stereotypes for females especially young teenage females who were going through puberty and figuring out who they wanted to be in general
When I was young growing up in the 90s, my hair was a sandy blonde. I hated it because of the dumb blonde stereotype. I was so relieved middle school when it darkened into a medium brown.

Jennette had an ED, and dan made her eat a lot of food, as part of her character. Also whilst filming Sam and Cat I believe, her mom passed and because of her career, she very rarely spent any time with her. Dan only let her have a week off and then was straight back to work. It's so sad how she sacrificed her childhood for ours.
She doesnt give herself enough credit. Sam was the epitome of strong independent young girl. She may have yelled random shit but she resonated with lots of us
That’s what I’ve always thought! I think her character showed that young girls can stick up for themselves and can show strength and confidence. That’s why I loved her character so much.
She’s extremely strong, she took a turn in her life and I am so proud of her. I understand very well why she wouldn’t want to return considering everything that has happened and think that if that is her decision, it should be respected❤️

The more I learn about Jennette, the more I immensely respect her. She went through absolute hell in her younger years (she even said she has PTSD from that time) and the times I've heard her speak she seems extremely sweet and down-to-earth in spite of it. She absolutely made the right call not to return to iCarly (it sucks anyway) and she doesn't owe it to anyone to do so. Allow the poor woman to recover in peace and let her do what she feels comfortable with now, of which her childhood never did.

I like to think the only good thing that came out of this for her was meeting Miranda Cosgrove. Miranda has stated in a interview that her real life best friend is Jennette. In another interview she talks about when she bought a home Jennette decided to buy the house literally right next door to her. Miranda also stated that the two are always hanging out. They both even always post long heartfelt bday posts about each other on Instagram. Another interesting fact is that they were both born in the same hospital. Miranda said maybe that’s why they’re so close 🤷🏻♂️
Miranda would probably be the only one who could convince her to do it. Also if she does do the show I would love if they started the reboot with an appearance from Ariana Grande in which it shows Sam leaving their babysitting business 😁

It's ironic that Jennette McCurdy stuck to a strict diet in real life while being portrayed on the show as a binge eater consuming everything in sight. That dichotomy must have been traumatic to her. If she returns to the show, and I hope she does, let's hope the writers see her in a more stable, mature light. I don't want to see her as a neurotic loser, but as a happy, successful businesswoman, perhaps with looney employees that she has to keep in check.
I was thinking the same thing. Even if she's not a business woman, maybe just someone super successful who has ended up very busy most of the time. Probably a bit of a micro-manager with anger management issues, but like maybe she could have rants during the show and then do breathing exercises or something. It would be funny, relatable, and healthy to see someone taking steps to their own recovery. I'm kind of sick of seeing people being mean all the time just for the sake of crappy one-liner jokes. But if they can change Freddy's character completely (and it looks like they did from the trailer), I'm pretty sure they could manage the same for her.

Sam, the character, was a good role model because she was unapologetically herself all the while being a loyal friend and dealing with a home life that many many many of us can relate too. If she can smile through it all and still be herself, then so can I can I! Is what I thought of when I'd watch Sam. :) She made me feel brave🤷🏾
She taught me to be tough skinned. I’m like too nice always and she taught me that it’s ok to defend yourself sometimes. I had enough common sense to know that not everything Sam did was good or something I should look up to. But I did get more out of her than her lines about chicken lol.

It’s sad to know something that brought me so much joy as a child was destroying somebody else’s childhood, I absolutely adored Jeannette’s character in the show and it’s really sad to hear that she isn’t coming back to it but I’m really happy that’s she’s doing something that makes her proud.

ngl. when i think back to sam, i remember more than just a blonde screaming about fried chicken. i remember the charismatic and loyal best friend who makes every moment fun with her mere presence. sam's basically that one wacky best friend in your life who'll crack jokes at both your own and her expense while also getting everyone who's trying to put you down to back off. i'm not sure if jennete mccurdy will ever get to read this, but her role as sam really meant a lot to me, and i love both her and her acting for it.
If the reboot DOES NOT involve Schneider’s bakery, Nickelodeon productions or both, there could be a chance slightly she comes back under paramount+ as long as they pick different partners for this reboot

They could be keeping her return in the reboot a secret, and have her return in an episode as a big surprises. If everyone in the cast is back all of a sudden, there wouldn't be much of a surprise factor for older viewers who are probably not as interested in a reboot of a kids show. And jennette mecurdy returns to Icarly, would be a kinda big headline and could boost ratings of the show
I heavily doubt it based on literally everything McCurdy went through during ICarly and Sam and Cat. She’s making it pretty clear she’s moved on from acting. I could understand maybe a very small cameo may be possible, like just an audio recording of like a phone call between Sam and Carly.
I now completely understand why she isn't coming back. It saddens me to know that she was going through all that at such a young age, and there I was a little younger and watching the show thinking NOTHING of it. Even in the show though, I related a lot to her. I was going through a lot at the time, but when the show came on after school it was always something that got my mind off of the bullies and my home life. I understand entirely. I will tune into her podcast and support her career

Jeannette needs to realize, she wasn’t looked up to because of the chicken lines and being funny. She was looked up to because she changed the way blonde leads were seen at the time. Most of the time back in that time, blonde characters were shown as either pristine and prissy rich girls or an overly air headed girl who is made the butt of jokes constantly. Her portrayal of Sam showed that a blonde girl can be tough and street wise, and doesn’t need to always be a rich girl or an airhead. It was refreshing. But in the end I hope she chooses whatever is best for her and not what others what.

Not to put down your on views but I don’t think this was the reason people looked up to Jennette’s character. Sam was relatable and broke a lot of female stereotypes overall, her character was definitely strong in more ways than one and people liked her attitude and personality. I don’t think it’s had much to do with her just breaking the stereotypical blonde trope and character but breaking a lot of stereotypes for females especially young teenage females who were going through puberty and figuring out who they wanted to be in general
When I was young growing up in the 90s, my hair was a sandy blonde. I hated it because of the dumb blonde stereotype. I was so relieved middle school when it darkened into a medium brown.

Jennette had an ED, and dan made her eat a lot of food, as part of her character. Also whilst filming Sam and Cat I believe, her mom passed and because of her career, she very rarely spent any time with her. Dan only let her have a week off and then was straight back to work. It's so sad how she sacrificed her childhood for ours.

The more I learn about Jennette, the more I immensely respect her. She went through absolute hell in her younger years (she even said she has PTSD from that time) and the times I've heard her speak she seems extremely sweet and down-to-earth in spite of it. She absolutely made the right call not to return to iCarly (it sucks anyway) and she doesn't owe it to anyone to do so. Allow the poor woman to recover in peace and let her do what she feels comfortable with now, of which her childhood never did.

I like to think the only good thing that came out of this for her was meeting Miranda Cosgrove. Miranda has stated in a interview that her real life best friend is Jennette. In another interview she talks about when she bought a home Jennette decided to buy the house literally right next door to her. Miranda also stated that the two are always hanging out. They both even always post long heartfelt bday posts about each other on Instagram. Another interesting fact is that they were both born in the same hospital. Miranda said maybe that’s why they’re so close 🤷🏻♂️

I understand why she doesn’t want to return. Her being on the show, is her reliving traumatic experiences she experienced as a teen.
It's ironic that Jennette McCurdy stuck to a strict diet in real life while being portrayed on the show as a binge eater consuming everything in sight. That dichotomy must have been traumatic to her. If she returns to the show, and I hope she does, let's hope the writers see her in a more stable, mature light. I don't want to see her as a neurotic loser, but as a happy, successful businesswoman, perhaps with looney employees that she has to keep in check.

I was thinking the same thing. Even if she's not a business woman, maybe just someone super successful who has ended up very busy most of the time. Probably a bit of a micro-manager with anger management issues, but like maybe she could have rants during the show and then do breathing exercises or something. It would be funny, relatable, and healthy to see someone taking steps to their own recovery. I'm kind of sick of seeing people being mean all the time just for the sake of crappy one-liner jokes. But if they can change Freddy's character completely (and it looks like they did from the trailer), I'm pretty sure they could manage the same for her.

She taught me to be tough skinned. I’m like too nice always and she taught me that it’s ok to defend yourself sometimes. I had enough common sense to know that not everything Sam did was good or something I should look up to. But I did get more out of her than her lines about chicken lol.

The fact that I watched all iCarly episodes and seasons before but haven’t watched even one episode from the reboot just shows how much I LOVEEEEEE Jennette she was my fav character

It’s sad to know something that brought me so much joy as a child was destroying somebody else’s childhood, I absolutely adored Jeannette’s character in the show and it’s really sad to hear that she isn’t coming back to it but I’m really happy that’s she’s doing something that makes her proud.
I think it all comes down to whatever she feels like doing whether she annoys it and moves on with her life or at some point want to come back it's really hurting her decision and her herself she is a human like everyone else I wish her the best 👌👍❤️💯
I would love to see Jeanette return but she needs to do whatever makes her happy and in turn my family and I will continue to follow her and watch her in whatever she decides to do🥰 We think she's a wonderful young lady inside and out.

If you listen to Jeanette's podcast, she says multiple times that she never wanted to be an actress, that her mom made her do it. She says that she wasn't the happiest one set of ICarly. She also says that she doesn't want to return to acting, so it makes sense to me that she wouldn't be on the return show. Not because there's bad blood
It would be cool to her back on but for guest appearance. I think it’s really cool of her to acknowledge (not everyone does) all the shit she’s been through and to say she wants to be with peace with her past could probably give her that closure that she’s looking for. I’m glad she’s doing well tho! She will definitely be missed from the reboot.
BTW, can we all just say how beautiful Jennette was -- and still is? We love you, Jennette!

@@JohnathonTAdams A reboot would be if they started from scratch, new cast with new stories but still called iCarly, in other words, a new version. In this case they’re doing a continuation of the story with the same characters and cast (well, almost), that’s a revival.

ngl. when i think back to sam, i remember more than just a blonde screaming about fried chicken. i remember the charismatic and loyal best friend who makes every moment fun with her mere presence. sam's basically that one wacky best friend in your life who'll crack jokes at both your own and her expense while also getting everyone who's trying to put you down to back off. i'm not sure if jennete mccurdy will ever get to read this, but her role as sam really meant a lot to me, and i love both her and her acting for it.
If the reboot DOES NOT involve Schneider’s bakery, Nickelodeon productions or both, there could be a chance slightly she comes back under paramount+ as long as they pick different partners for this reboot
Nickelodeon doesn't work with Schneider's Bakery ever since 2017.
And actually mature the character I like sam but the fact that her role was literally her eating and being angry all the time can be a little shallow even though sam was the deepest character on the show

@@lacaralupana3814 no matter how much money you make, it will never be able to change your past or heal it. Sure, she got paid and may have good money from it, but she went through hell for it. That’s her childhood and young teens that she won’t ever be able to get back.
They could be keeping her return in the reboot a secret, and have her return in an episode as a big surprises. If everyone in the cast is back all of a sudden, there wouldn't be much of a surprise factor for older viewers who are probably not as interested in a reboot of a kids show. And jennette mecurdy returns to Icarly, would be a kinda big headline and could boost ratings of the show
I heavily doubt it based on literally everything McCurdy went through during ICarly and Sam and Cat. She’s making it pretty clear she’s moved on from acting. I could understand maybe a very small cameo may be possible, like just an audio recording of like a phone call between Sam and Carly.
I now completely understand why she isn't coming back. It saddens me to know that she was going through all that at such a young age, and there I was a little younger and watching the show thinking NOTHING of it. Even in the show though, I related a lot to her. I was going through a lot at the time, but when the show came on after school it was always something that got my mind off of the bullies and my home life. I understand entirely. I will tune into her podcast and support her career
