That’s terrible. What’s worse is, Daniella was already like 21. Making her no longer a minor. Which means Dan could could have tried doing anything to her without her fear getting busted for bullying a minor.

Y'all saying she was "playing" the annoying crazy role, that's why the scenes were like this. But that's not the point. The lotion scene, the lickings, and many more scenes were creepy which we as a kid never realized but creepy adults like Dan kept enjoying. It's not about the character it's about the bizarre sexualization of that young girl in a kid's show, without making obvious (for obvious reasons).
I loved Trina. She really made me laugh but sometimes there were sense that made me question her.

Dan was deffo sewing discord between everyone he abused. He's the reason Jeanette was resentful and jelly. Either that or Ariana mightve quietly saved Jeanette from movie roles bc being on the iCarly reboot set could cause Jeanette to relapse into anorexia, so a movie set could have the same effect.
If it wasn't Ariana looking out for Jeanette it was Dan sewing discord. He purposefully wouldn't let Jeanette change her schedule made it revolve around Ariana's, so Jeanette missed things.
It's no coincidence actresses from Dan's shows had major fights. And all with Ariana. First Jeanette then Victoria. Even Jamie was spooled rotten by Dan, and he did some sht to that other Zoey101 actress. After Jamie brainwashed everyone against thr girls Britney yepes at the girl. Dan clearly ruined Jamie and then used Britney

Trina was actually my favorite character on Victorious. Daniella Monet's acting was always so expressive and so funny! Plus she's pretty! I always thought that Daniella Monet was super pretty, so the role of Trina never made me think less of her in that regard. I never thought of her as unintelligent, either. To play a character as strange as Trina, an actress has to be smart enough to make the acting feel believable.

I just watched an episode of Victorious on Netflix not too long ago. Looking back at what Daniella Monet's character "Trina Vega" went through on the show really mortifies me a lot. Her character was an outcast and gets picked on and rejected by everyone in the series. It breaks my heart that all of her scenes are so embarrassing and everyone likes her sister over her. Dan Schneider was a nightmare so I feel her pain. 💯
Yea I hated how they treated Trina I actually hated the victorious show altogether I do love Victoria justice though. Just couldn't stand her show the characters are all bullies their very judgmental they bullied Trina and made her look like the bad guy. They always thought they were to grown up to do anything they always judged everyone just hated everything about that show. I don't get what Dan Schneider was thinking I'm actually surprised he,s not arrested yet.
Yea that's true, u can't look back on these shows and not feel sorry for all these actors. I never understood( even if they aren't real high school students) Trina was just as gorgeous as Tori but was constantly made fun of and rejected.

Just cause she’s an adult it doesn’t make it right. It’s still pervy to be forced to do sexual scenes when she never have a warning beforehand. I may have never read the contracts but Nickelodeon was literally for children I’m positive they never said anything about sexual innuendos/jokes or else there would be a lawsuit.

Most of the scenes were creepy. Straight up sexualized. It wasn't that obvious cause it is a kid's show, to kids she's stupid, doing stupid things, but the adults (Dan) were disgustingly enjoying it.
yea i agree, it's a character. of course the character is going to be nothing like the actor. that's like thinking that someone who plays the role of a criminal is a criminal in real life. the scenes that made her uncomfortable though, should never have been filmed or released because they were honestly uncomfortable to watch even as a viewer. i'm sure the only person who didn't cringe from those scenes was dan.

Okay; I don’t think that ANYONE would think less of Daniella because of the way Trina was portrayed. People understand there’s a difference between the actor and the character they’re playing. If anything, playing out Trina’s bizarre character traits like her extreme overconfidence and lack of talent are just a proof of Daniella’s skills as an actress.
While it’s true that Daniella called out Nickelodeon for the overly sexualised content, you are claiming that she’s gotten dozens of traumas from playing Trina. That’s something she never claimed. In 2019, she did a couple of Victorious related for NickRewind, responding to Trina’s weird scenes.

Yeah, Trina’s character is weird but thats with a reason. It’s so that we, the audience, realize how “normal” Tori is. That’s the whole premise of the show. A very normal girl that we can all identify with, discovering she has a lot of talent and going to this school full of weirdo’s. Tori’s “normalnes” is the window through which we see this wacky school.
Furthermore, you’re claiming Trina’s character exists solely for other to make fun of but you’re completely ignoring Robbie, who also gets made fun of and used by Trina on a regular basis.

You’re also claiming some very important things like “people believe Daniella was offered the role of Tori but she declined it” without ANY proof whatsoever. I love Trina! Her role was extremely embarrassing to play but she also had some okay moments. I think they should’ve given her a role as maybe one of Tori’s friends. I think she could’ve played the nerdy type or a fashion designer (Who isn’t selfish).
When she was a teen on the show? She was born in 1989 and the show started in 2010, after her birthday, she would have been 21. Beck and Robbie would have been of age as well. I’m not condoning the sexual innuendos on this show, but I really dislike that most these actors, who are all almost 30 now, are being addressed as child actors when a few weren’t and some later on were of age. Compared to iCarly, these actors were in more well known spaces to know how old they really are.

She was around 20 or 21 when this show first started. It’s awful to think that Dan felt more comfortable mistreating and taking advantage of Daniella than the other girls because she was legally an adult at the time and no longer an minor.

Most of them were 21 and under and I recall still having a hard time expressing myself at that age (I’m somewhat still like that at 30), so being a celebrity in a show, I see why they didn’t speak. I’ve heard people say that Victoria Justice’s role was sized down after doing something Dan didn’t like, but I honestly don’t know if it’s true. I definitely want what happened on these shows to be talked about, I just don’t like the fact people don’t say how old the Victorious cast was, because I think them being older attributed to having even more mature humor than iCarly and the shows before it had.

Trina is my favorite character. her quirkiness and Kramer like character was one of the reasons I like the show. Every show has a character that without them the show just wouldn't have been as good, Trina is one of those characters

I won't disagree that Daniela is capable for playing more "glamorous" roles but in acting having the spirit of the character you are going to play can overcome even the look. And Daniela played Trina as if it were her real character 😊

I wonder why Dan utilized Daniella to paint her in such a negative light. Even when she was Chase’s girlfriend, Rebecca in Zoey 101, she was a witch with no redeeming qualities. Especially once Chase was written off the show, they could’ve given her a redemption arc and even made her one of the leading girls in the group. They had already lost Alexa and Kristin. My friend/ former teacher temporarily taught on the set of Victorious. He said Daniella was the sweetest one; and, she was the first person in the cast to speak to him. I believe Daniela was quoted as saying that because of some of the things that Dan had her do, like hanging from a harness on set, made her surprised that she was able to have children. I’ve always been curious to know more about that. As far as making Treana seem like the lesser sister, I think Dan likes pitting young stars against each other. Jeanette McCurdy said he pressured the cast of ICarly to drink by telling them the kids on Victorious drank.
Dan definitely pitted young stars against each other, he's an abuser. He likely puts Jamie against Britney. He hated Daniella bc she wasn't a minor but an adult, so he trashed all her charries.
He also did the same shit with thr Freddy's mom actress, he gave her charry negative qualities. But it backfired Freddy's mom is seen as positive and wr love her charry a lot, we demanded she returns to the reboot. She didn't want to return to the reboot

Honestly speaking I would have loved seeing her as bad ass beautiful older sister to Tori one that doesn't give a sh** for anything and just be rebel and fun bit at the same time super intellectual I would loved seeing her with her role as Trina as serious older sister to Tori but a wild rebel fun and super talented older sister and character I never like her being the dumb one and letting Tori be the most beautiful popular girl in school when obviously Trina was same as beautiful and even powerful and to be honest not to compare but I kinda imagine her best being kinda similar to a mix of Dianey HSM Movie Sharpay and Monique's type of Character like for example: sassy, beautiful and super talented like Sharpay and intellectual, elegant, actituded and straightforward like Monique's Character in the movie plus reliable in every aspect I think she could still played Tori's older sister but instead of being a side character being more the lead character with Tori both sisters ans the storyline going around both of them together reasons are cuz at the end of the day Tori entered to Hollywood Arts cuz of her older sister Trina and stayed cuz of her older sister Trina as well when Tori wanted to drop out and go back to her old school... Trina could have been the best big sister ever as not just the oldest but as the reliable sassy loving one who always show you her own way of seeing things and taking desicions wild ones to serious ones that sister that no matter what you would always loved, care and trust 100% on her....
I would surely loved a strong role for the Trina character and also a more serious sassy one but honestly about the sassy thing I would also loved to see her in close that where more comfortable to her as the age she actually had in rela life plus the age she was actúa representing in the series I know Tori was in 10th grade with 15teen years old and that Trina was 16teen years old in 11th grade plus that fact of the unknown reason about why Trina was a student in a prestigious Arts school when she supposedly didn't have any Talend at all to be there making the character even more random to the whole show and script well I think if Tori was in Hollywood Arts cuz of Dancing and Singing and stage presence I think Trina's reason to be in Hollywood Arts would have been better to be for Acting and Dancing cuz at the end of the day in Victorious many people thought Trina was in Hollywood Arts for Acting in general cuz every student there has a reason of why they go to that Arts school and the fact that as Art school their años of Hollywood Arts in it more than just singing and dancing so I think they're could be many reasons for Trina to be a part of the School...

I didn't see much of Victorious but from what little I did see. They really did Daniella so wrong. As a teenager growing up. I didn't see or think anything of it at the time but when I got older and all of what came out about Dan Schneider ( which is still spilling out ) Daniella has been treated poorly and she deserved so much better or at least deserved to have played a better character or at least had her character have a bigger arc and more. Dan "the beer can" Schneider and all who are guilty like him can burn.
The sad reality is, unlike most of the other Nickelodeon kids, Daniella was around 20 or 21, making her an adult. Which made Dan more comfortable mistreating Daniella without the fear of him being busted for taking advantage of a minor. 🙄

Putting lipgloss on wasn’t the inappropriate thing, mostly the fact eating a pickle is similar to a male body shape that is private. I think the lipgloss being young and girly mixed with eating a phallic food might make it seem more sexual that it should.

Honestly thought she was the best actor on the show. Playing someone dimwitted on a comedy has got to be challenging. The list of adjectives is endless to describe how beautiful she is. The long hair. The eyes. That freaking smile! Breathtaking!!!

Now that I’m an adult I see but from a child perspective it could differ also including the environment. I would like to clarify, Danielle Monet was not a minor when she even started victorious. I remember seeing her and smaller rolls in the mid-2000s where she was playing a teenager and still actually one. Even prior to victorious she was Mainly type casted a similar role to trina, usually delusional, dumb, and sometimes mean. She was 20 when victorious first aired. But that shouldn’t downplay the very clearly uncomfortable experience she had on the show.

Honestly, for sure working with Dan Schneider was uncomfortable, he's a perv but Trina's character is just a role. Trina is a selfish and bizarre girl so of course she does bizarre things, I think it's normal. Some of the scenes were just creepy, I totally agree with that, and knowing that Dan is watching you while you're acting makes it a lot worse but the scene where she's eating a pickle and applying a lipgloss is pretty normal to me. In movies and tv series always there are many bad and unpleasant characters, it's part of the fiction so I don't understand why complaining because your character is not how you want it to be. It's a role and a job, it's not you, if you have to be the annoying, delusional, crazy girl it's normal to act like that even because it's a sitcom for teens so it's supposed to be funny, bizarre and over the top (Nickelodeon style). For sure I think you must have a lot of confidence to play Trina's character for all the reasons I mentioned, being the "negative" and annoying character is a challenge and not everyone can do it. Anyway I feel sorry for her, working with a perv must be very hard and uncomfortable, I hope she's okay now

Maybe the general environment was so wrong and uncomfortable that she was more "sensitive" and knowing that Dan Schneider was a creepy pervert made her feel more "aware" that he could've done something bad or look at her in an inappropriate way. For me i did not ever feel that trina is a cringe character i was always waiting for her to show up, so i don't see what's wrong actually:'(
When i initially started watching the series around 2-3 years back, i found those scenes uncomforting. But i thought that maybe i am overthinking, as i usually do over small things, and this isn't such a big deal.
But after seeing the videos on youtube, i came to know that i wasn't overthinking. This was actually very bad.

It's bc Dan hates adult woman and Trina wasn't a minor. Dan always made adult women look bad in his shows, like how he made Freddy's mom a control freak. But that backfires because Freddy's mom is actually so cool, she's iconic and she's only back on thr iCarly reboot bc fans WANT her so badly.

I think Deniella is a great person I do think it was a bit unfair that nobody could see how amazing she was on the show. But I do think Victoria was an amazing tori Vega on the show. the whole fricken show was over sexualized, not just Trina. I remember noticing how this show had so much more kissing scenes, sexual themes more so than other shows and it was honestly too much even back then.
Yea the girls always wore short shorts the clothes were very sexualizing I didn't like the bullying the characters did. Like nickelodeon made bullies popular on its shows like seriously.
