I saw them a long time ago when they came to Australia for the first time, and it was just them 2. They had JUST brought in their awesome drummer, and only I think 3 songs had Drums. It was the most beautiful amazing thing ever, and even though they didn't speak much English, they were the most lovely duo ever.
They met the first time at school summer camp when they were 14 y.o in croatia , where they originally come from. But then they met again after 10 years of the first meeting in London when they took their master bachelor. Stjepan actuall felt up with the classical music at some point and then he heard smooth criminal at the very first time and bad the crazy idea to do that song on cello and asked luka to join him and made a video and uploaded on you tube. And it went viral!!
Good evening from New England...Kurt would be hella proud!!...Under all the distortion and Dave Grohl's monster drumming in Nirvana Kurt had that pop sensibility in his melodies and they transfered well into classical music..Peace from the Northeast...
Apparently they met as children when they would go to cello competitions. One is from Croatia and the other Slovania. They became friends but were competitors. And I read that the one who sits on the left of the screen said that the looks between them are because they used to compete as children and they’re still competing! Lol check out the Elton John video about 2cellos. They joined Elton’s band for a time and used to open his shoes with 4 songs each night and get a standing ovation after each song. Elton describes their dynamic in a great way
@@AnubisX1 dont forget "They dont care about us (Live)", "The Show must go on", Pirates of the carribean (2 cellos replacing a whole orchestra...no idea how that works lol) and "Seven Nation Army"
Hello Wolves! I doubt that others have not told you yet, but both of the cello players are 'Master' grade artists in 'Classical' in the Classical music scene. Both came from Croatia and met while studying in England. They played for years in the Classical genre scene and when they began to play together, they would play 'modern' music and 'rock' for fun... Someone saw this and suggested that they 'Go Pro' as Rock musicians. They did and became a worldwide hit. They were so good, that they became the 'intro' band for Sir Elton John's band. And Elton himself said that he had never heard of a band that got standing ovations for every song they played. Elton is retired now, but the 2cellos are still around, and still making music. The torch has been passed. Rock will NEVER die. It will just re-invent itself, as these two have shown us. Who'd have EVER thought that a pair of purely classical instruments, like cellos, would become ROCK instruments? Another 'wall' down, and rock marches on. Keep head banging!
Those two gentleman possess preeminent preternatural prowess's on cellos that leaves one awestruck. Being classical & orchestral songsmith myself I bestow adoration to there exemplary adeptness instrumentally. Another splendiferous videogenic reaction from you all.
Thought they would be your kinda vibe when I sent the Thunderstruck recommendation. They actually both used to be 1st and 2nd place rivals in their classical competitions when growing up.
2 Cellos in the year 2005, in the music academy : "Let's go do Mega Deth with cellos." Colleagues: "You're crazy!" 2 Cellos in 2022: "Who's laughing now?"
I’ve been listening to them for a few years. Found history via Google below 🥴. I know they talk about early years in interviews on UA-cam. Must find it . 👇true or not?? * It was 2011 and Sulic and Hauser met up in London, having not seen each other for almost 10 years. They began talking about collaborating, throwing around ideas for doing “something crazy, something exciting,”
Wow, this Drummer...incredible!!! And the rest sounds better than APOCALYPTICA!!! A pice from my Playlist: Tricky - Blue Steel (Singer: Martina Topley-Bird)
I understand there's a certain way to request songs, but I got to throw it out there. You guys not having any actual Nirvana reactions is a shame 😂 For real tho please..please react to some of their live performances. Live and Loud one of the best shows all time hands down
They’d met on the music conservatories as teens in Zagreb Croatia.

They were rivals when they were learning and decided to jam together because there was no one else remotely close to their talent.
