Hi Dan. For those screws that are coming out; do you think you could just grind them down with a metal grinder an inch or so and then you can finish planeing? As for the frames that are too short I'd just add a piece of 2x4 and glue/screw it in. The rail with give it all strength anyway. Good luck with what you decide to do... It's looking Great!
That would’ve been exactly what I would’ve decided to do unfortunately I actually don’t own a grinder to be able to do that or else I would’ve taken 24 grit 7 inch on a grinder and go nuts. I may have to try to pick one up down the road if I can get away with what I’ve got I will and yes adding 2 x 4 bits on the top. I was gonna do that. I may still do it. There’s not that many and then I still have a strip that goes along the inside of the frames and then of course the cap, so I don’t know if it’ll make any difference or not but hey thanks I appreciate your comment and that’s exactly what I was thinking of doing unfortunately no grinder
How are you doing? I don’t have a grinder. I had one for 14 years. It died on me two years ago. I never replaced it, but I think I got a close enough that it should work out because buying another grinder at this time is a little out of the question or else I would’ve used a 7 inch grinder with 24 inch 24 grit grinding pad. I’ll just keep on doing what I’ve been doing since I started this one piece at a time whenever I can, but I’m close to it. I mean once I get these grounded down and I can get that cap installed. I’m all technically finished the boatfibreglass floor I’m gonna see if I can pick up someone and a half ounce for the floor. That’ll be a very big part of it. I still have bottom paint. I’m gonna paint the inside walls with it. I paid 300 bucks 2 gallons you know like one colour and epoxy and might as well use it on the inside.
