Seeing that huge mold form I knew boat would be big. Then when I saw its shape my thoughts were, love too see smaller boat on same design. An here you are! This build will interest me, because I helped dad male several salmon fishing boats for Willamette River falls. Our boats were just under 16ft, gluing 2 plywood sheets. But we put 20hp mercs an raced. Put a 20hp on that boat! Enjoy!
Nice. The sides are high enough, it would be good to stick 10-15 cm of XPS foam in the shape of a triangle with non-return valves to the bottom to get a self-draining boat from the rain.... In addition, it would be unsinkable, which helps a lot in bad weather.
@@AntonMakesStuff Hi Anton. Thank you for the video! It would be great if you could tell us how does this hull behaves in waves. Dou you get a lot of hull slam when going over other boar wake at speed? I am also impressed by the lack of wake of your boat
@@michaelf2646 Of course it will. It is a flat bottom hull. Flat bottom hulls don't cut through wakes or waves very well. That is why most Ocean-going hulls have deep Vs or Displacement hulls. The faster ones are Cats but they are still V-shaped hulls on both sides. If you want to go really fast and still have good wave performance, a catamaran is what you want.
When they join large sheets to build the Plywood yatches they dont shamfer the joint ...what they do is they cut a jigsaw puzzel edge join or a flat dove tail keyed edge and bond with epoxy then reinforce the joins with grp. 🧙🏼♂️⚓🇬🇧
Hi there. The design and your build were great, and thanks for sharing. The boat looks stable with less tendency to roll compared to other designs I have seen. I will study Tim's designs. Cheers.
You did a fantastic job in its construction. It would have added some weight, but cladding the entire hull in fiberglass will add resilience and stop most of those annoying nicks...
Hello! That is hard to answer. I would say that 6-10 hp is good for this boat. Hard to approximate the speed for higher hp, I would guess around 15-20 knots with 8-10 hp. But it depends of course on how heavily loaded the boat is. If you build a very robust boat it could certainly handle more hp, maybe around 15-20hp, it would be very fast and a bit unsafe :)
I'm asking because I would like to do this project this summer but I'm an Italian minor and I can't buy the project online by myself. If you don't want, thanks anyway.
@@Alessandro-bq7ki Okay, I see. I got the plans from Tim Weston. It is his plans and you need to pay for them, I am not allowed to distribute them to you for free.

Skrovet är 7mm furuplywood (från vanlig bygghandel), aktern ville jag ha lite tjockare så den är 12mm granplywood. Det går säkert att använda ännu tunnare om man vill, men då är det nog bra med lite extra glasfiber

Good job... It sails very well and keeps the stern high.... Congratulations...
Make some plastic rails underneath it to protect the wood from scraping or a bunch of thick layers of bed liner
Great video, the picture is very clear and colorful. Good job building your boat.

I personally would have prefilled the seats with foam to add some ballast to stop boat from sinking.
Amazing choice! I can't believe the way this boat planes with the small motor.
Thanks! Yes, a large flat hull and not much weight :) with two people it does not plane as easily

Great job !!! … you are a shipwright now !!!
Nice! Imagine to make this with carbonfiber 😃
Good job well done. 8hp will push her alone just fine. Enjoy.
Grazie mille!
Thank you!

Love it 😍
thankyou brother
Nice boat wanna build one for me
Can I get the plans I need the measurement to get the bend at the front bottom only
Sorry, but the plans are sold by Tim Weston and you need to buy the plans from him. Link is in the description
just awesome
by any chance that you can share the plan?
Is it cross-continental?
Hi how can I get the plans and measurements for this boT?
Hello, read the description :)
Hi, I wanted to ask you for advice. In your opinion, what is the maximum number of hp of the engine that I can put on this boat ?

@@Alessandro-bq7ki Sorry, I'm not sure what you want? A bill of all materials? I put most of it in the description of the video :)
@@AntonMakesStuff no, I need the project measurements to build the wooden parts

Do you have plans for sale for this boat?

Tjena. Haha, oväntad kommentar! Tillämpad programmering eller? Kommer knappt ihåg uppgiften.
@@AntonMakesStuff ja fan, såg din kommentar på en trollkarlsvideo XD, tänkte att det var värt ett försök hahaha.
@@AntonMakesStuff can you send the link of the project?
@@marcelopires8838 Do you mean the boat plans? They are linked in the description
Very good job, but cutting its nose off spoiled the look a bit in my opinon.
Vilken typ av plywood använde du?

Is there a plan for a similar but larger planing hull boat
Ps. Awesome work!
@@mateyboy8605 Thanks :) there are heaps of plywood boat plans online. I don't know any larger boat that is very similar to this one though.
Hi Antonio thankyou for your reply, ill have a browse online
Any tips or links appreciated!!
You may try scaling up the plans. I am sure you can get in touch with Tim Weston and discuss this.
